It got lost a bit, but I definitely learned more about “women cook, but men are chefs” thing a few years ago. The fact that women are expected to know how to cook, but when you actually get into the professional Industry it’s dominated by men who will devalue the women in that same profession had my mind blown 🤯 **EDIT: folks showing their asses in the replies…thanks for making my point 😂😘
I agree like me (an 18 year old black women) I’m expected to know how to cook because “what about when you get a husband how are you supposed to cook for him” like I live on my own the most I need to do is defrost a pizza

Most of them came with the most weakest points ever, like come on there better examples of misogny out there like for example : whenever a woman gets sexually assaulted or raped they are told not to speak up because they're going to ruin the man`s life his career, or his career his marriage, his family "the rapist " . They only cared about they man life "the rapist " not his Victims and they're shamed or ridiculed if they stand up for themselves.
True Dee, One time my mom was arguing with a lady(my dad died along with my half-sister dad) and the lady said ''Oh you 2 daughter for 2 different men and you couldn't even keep 1 you let both of them go and they died'' and that time I was 9 and I said to my self why does that matter
To the first girl in the video since she mentioned Chris Brown. Literally, the day after he got caught beating Rihanna. Girls at my school: I don't care what he did, I'm still gonna listen to him because that has nothing to do with his music. Plus, he's fine too.
Yeah I've also found that as guys we hold men like Chris Brown and Trey Songs more accountable for their shitty personalities and actions than women do. A lot of those women are completely ok with it if they find the perp attractive. Just like in the dating world, he's only a creep if she's not attracted to him. If she finds him attractive, then he's a romantic or is a man who goes after what he wants. "A real man"
One of the weirdest internalized misogynistic ones I’ve heard is when some women say they need to tap into their “masculine” part when they want to be ambitious. I don’t know who lied to them but ambition and being driven has more to do with personal motivation than testosterone. If that trait were uniquely “masculine” then there wouldn’t be any lazy men in the world-yet there are many passive NON driven men out here 🙃
As a Male, one thing is see is women getting roasted or shamed for speaking like some men or using slangs that usually men say AND here we have women having to hear men say things only girls can relate to as a way to mock them constantly. They might say these things in a girly way to add to it.
@@nickcrim6735 I think what trips up said men is less so the word and the masculine energy that proceeds it, in the same way some women cringe when a man says "girrrl" to a woman carried by feminine energy. It's ok for men to have some feminine energy in the same way it's ok for women to have some masculine energy...but context remains key.
I think what’s misogynistic is women who don’t know or like to cook like everybody is like you need to learn how to cook for you husband no man gonna want someone who don’t knows how to cook and I feel like if the woman is okay with not knowing or don’t like cooking what that got to do with a man he has two arms and can go cook himself
I wish this wasnt a thing people debated on because now you have people refusing to cook or not invested in learning because of people saying that. cause the downside is the person is missing out on a valuable skill any adult should have for talking care of themselves.
@@PaintedHoundie plenty of people try cooking and just can’t, I can’t bake I burn everything in the oven and I’ve definitely tried, just like driving it’s pretty needed today but some people try and just can’t do it
That lady who brought up how the concept of marriage is misogynistic is definitely on point. It’s almost as if marriage is not for wome- lemme mind my business!! 🤭
Idk marriage is the union between the man and women, it represents the two becoming one. Plus it’s women who want marriage more than men do. In fact the whole ceremony is based on what the bride wants
And then if they seperate, it solely benefits the woman financially, unless a Pre-nup is signed; which many women don't want. On top of that Women tend to date up (Hypergamy) so she is likely to get a better life deal during or after marraige than before. On top of that, happy wife, happy life. We all know the saying, meaning the marriage is only in jeopardy when the wife is not happy. Men's feelings be damned. That's why the government sends men to war to be killed and the women to stay home and reap the benefit of whatever he's worked for. Because men are ultimately looked at as expendable. That's why the Husband usually always dies before the wife. Because men's mental health doesn't matter to society. The list goes on and on and on. We are so concerned with misogyny but don't ever want to talk about our society chalk filled with misandry.
Astrology makes me strongly roll my eyes. Some of these”wok” types go too far with this they make everything more than it is. I’m all for equal rights but these chicks are dramatic 🙄 I can’t count how many times I’ve been banned or removed for disagreeing with them 😂
The science of Astrology is actually really interesting and has facts backing it up. It is not some people's fault that Astrology has been marketed in a dumb down here's you fate type of nonsense. Marketing I might add that is perpetuated by men. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely nuts that believe in the watered down versions, but this belittling that you are doing is exactly the girl in the clip point.
You have the right to your beliefs but when, how and who scientifically proved astrology? I love star gazing and space exploration but what does that gotta do with our real lives
That lady was really on here offended for robots while completely ignoring the larger problem that those are esentially surveillance devices... Girl bye lol.
A lot of terminology relating to women can double as insults. A lot of homophobia stems from misogyny. “Female” is seldom used to describe women in a positive light.
The girl talking about teenage girls was confusing but shes speaking facts, and you can extend that to boys too tbh. Thats a generational thing too, but with the internet being as big as ever, stereotypes n generalizations travel more than ever before.
I was also expecting the ladies to come with some strong points, but majority of em talked about stupid shit. If you're gonna talk about misogyny, be serious about it, because there are things like rape and sexual assault involved in it as well and that shit ain't a joke. So to see them play around with misogyny on Tiktok like this is really discouraging💔.
The topic is literally "things that are misogynistic that people ignore". Things like ræp3 and ß3xual assault are things that people usually don't ignore and are obvious. There are entire discussions about ß3xual violence on Tik Tok for a separate theme. Plus a lot of the points they had were valid. Just because it's not outright misogyny doesn't mean it's not a valid point
I think the dudes making fun of astrology aren't real Christians, or even religious. If there was a surge of young women getting into Christianity, they'd get made fun of by the same dudes. It's just astrology because it's popular in the zeitgeist, and it's women who are more vocal about it.

Not everything can be misogynist, most men say astrology is pretty dumb because it is. Also, because men tend to be more blunt about things, and impose their thoughts without the need to. Things that astrology says are traits of people born in a certain month are pretty broad and unspecified, and if I told you that Pisces are very intelligent a lot of people would say oh yeah that’s me, when intelligence is something that nearly every person has. The traits that are talked about are unspecific traits that stretch across all people, so maybe you’re a libra for say, you may not fit all personality traits but you fit some. You could find another person not a libra who could also be considered a libra because they also fit some. No one ever picked up on how all of the astrology signs are relatively the same, with slight differences and usually fit into around five categories of people. There’s the passive signs, the aggressive ones, the stubborn ones, leaders, etc. Those are all characteristics that can apply to anyone in the world if they’re willing to work towards it or become that. To top it off, personality isn’t set in stone, so it’s impossible to say that a person will always have the certain characteristics of someone considered to be a Gemini, simply because that’s the month they’re born in. Personality is shaped by environment, as well as genetics slightly. Not the stars. They may affect our mood from time to time, but not our general personality throughout life. Astrology is a harmless belief but it is still one that doesn’t make sense.
Astrology is really no different from other religions. And it's pretty telling that it's usually exclusively made fun of because most women are into it
Dee, the young lady who mentioned the John McClain character in “Die Hard” was referring to the fact that it’s never questioned if McClain could really perform all those feats because it’s automatically assumed he could because he’s a man but when a female action movie lead does something similar, everything she does or says is brought into question just because she’s a female.
That's more about writing I would say. Hollywood doesn't know how to write compelling female "badass" characters. I don't remember people doubting the ability of Sarah connor(Terminator) or or Ripley(Alien) in the 80s. In Die hard in particular, John McClain he got lucky alot and used his smarts to win. Typically nowadays when they use women in action movies they overdo it with unbelievable feats. I guess they do it with guys too, like The Rock grabbing helicopters with his bare hands lol
@@kingmedjai9433 exactly the main problem tho is narrative. Hollywood doesn’t know the difference between a badass main character that’s female and a female main character that’s supposed to be badass. Prime example look at tomb raid, mirror edge, Ellie or even Sonya from mk. All of these women are loved but when they are turned into movies pushing a narrative people hate him.

You being in a the possession of testicles and a penis does not exclude you from the topic or the issue. Misogyny is not perpetuated by women. You were born of a woman; ofcourse you can speak on it. Haven't you ever had a conversation with your mom/sister/aunt/female friend/female lover/female partner. "I can't speak on this because I'm a man". Does being a man rob you from the intellectual capacity to understand what women say? Come on: SPEAK on it! Misogyny is not put on women by women. But then again: what would your male friends say if you raise the topic.... "Are you gay/a simp?"
I'm 33 with no kids and no relationship in the last 3 years... haven't had sex in 2 years...if you cringed while reading this It shows that men get judged for relationship statuses as well.
Maybe the “you don’t have a man” is more highlighted amongst women but for men … there’s definitely a stigma about a single bachelor or a dude that just sleeps around.. People will say gay or when he’s just a bachelor he’s lonely and gonna die alone.. I mean I get that women have more worth than just being “his girl” but who really wants to die alone tho? And these days if it’s woman on woman they still say you’re better off w somebody tho.. 🤷
@@keishalawson3995 There are men who believe in astrology - it's not something owned by women. It's not a "woman only" belief system. Thinking astrology is stupid doesn't make you misogynistic.

The only dense person here is one who feels that if you don't believe in astrology then you hate women. Plenty of women also think astrology is bullshit. Stop it.
Alot of these "double standards" aren't actually double standards. There are usually reasons why there is a difference. Especially when they talk about why a Man or Woman can do one thing and the other sex can't. For example, to Dees point about a woman being criticized for not having a man. It is usually extremely easy for a woman to get with a man, especially the more attractive she. Because it's so easy for women to get a man, the challenge comes from weather you can KEEP a man or not. Whereas the average man has a tough time even just getting sex let alone a relationship. The two aren't really that comparable. Then again Men are usually the ones taking the blame when a marriage doesn't work out. "Double standards" should be compared when the two things are no different from each other. Men/Women are very different. It's like saying, "why do Men and Women wear different clothes?"
But then again it ain't a law so do what yall want is what I have to say about it because you shouldn't be forced to do something or nothing just because of your gender
Women can't just have any man they want. I guess I am reasonably attractive or so I've been told, but there have been many times when I had an attraction to a man and he for whatever reason or preference didn't reciprocate it. It happens all the time to women too - of course it does, not everyone is going to like you. There is a difference in how a a woman can react to that fact vs. how a man can react. First women should not initiate an interaction with a man, we have to make eye contact and then just wait to see if the man initiates. If we initiate, even an interested man will not be interested - I know because I've tried it before and even if they are flattered at first they will eventually ghost. If we wait and he doesn't show interest we can never ever mention it or try to change his mind - if we did, at best, he will look at us weird and then flat out ignore us from that point on. At worst he will tell everyone we are "crazy" and then everyone else will look at us weird. However, if a man likes a woman and she doesn't reciprocate for whatever reason or preference, then they can ask her "Why not"? Then she must try to make him feel better by complimenting him and placating him and then state again that she isn't interested. At that point he can challenge her and basically tell her she is wrong and to give him a chance. Then, she must politely say no again and smile to make sure he understands she means no disrespect. If at any point she is just plainspoken or actually gets annoyed having to repeat herself, then he can casually disrespect her, tell her what is wrong with her, or even get angry and call her ugly, a bitch, etc. Until very recently, nobody would criticize him for that but attitudes are changing.

Just guessing though.
As a man most of these were valid but there were some that were just pointless for example the marriage one the lady said why are women expected to take the mans last name ok so why are men expected to marry the lady and not the other way around?

True. The first ever company that made pockets for women did not sell much of pocket on women's, but sold and made much profit selling purses and bags seperately and women really loved it that they can not do without two hand bags till this day. Women who have one hand bag will say she wants more the moment she is able to maintain a rich lifstyle and that spells profit for companies.
Wendy wasn't really basing her life around a man. She was more so coming at Gizelle about her marriage, because Gizelle has spent every single season attacking everyone else's marriage, dragging their husbands and damn near glowing when someone else had marriage problems, so Wendy dragged Gizelle about her poor, dissolved marriage as karma for all the joy Gizelle has taken in badgering everyone else about their marriages every season.
Nah Dee its because most women who go to college choose professions like Nursing or something thats often associated with women. I remember when I first got to college and had to meet with my advisor about my major and courses I had to take; telling her that I wanted to major in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and one of the male advisors said I'd do better majoring in something "easier" then told me to go for Nursing or an Art degree and to avoid "tougher" majors like Business and Law. At first I really listened to what he said but then he told me that the "tougher" majors were for men because men are mentally and physically stronger and can handle the pressures of those majors meanwhile he's an advisor at a state college with a degree in Religious Studies who only had his job because his cousin was the director of services or something like that while my advisor had a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (working towards her masters) but took up the advisor job because she was pregnant and couldn't overexert herself.
no, but seriously, the pockets thing when it comes to women clothes is true though when I go shopping a lot of times women jeans and jackets barley have pockets or sometimes, they be too small to fit anything in them or a lot times they don't have pockets at all like I don't like carrying a purse all the time it's annoying because you constantly worrying about trying not to forget to leave your purse when you are out and a lot times I don't really have much to carry so having some good pockets to put my phone, keys and wallet would be nice and men pockets on their clothes are way better sometimes I be buying men's clothes because the pockets are better lol
