What's the best age to grow out your hair? 

I'm 56 and I have been growing out my hair for over a year. I'm near the end of my awkward stage. Finally looking good tying up my hair. Love your vids. I'm still learning how to keep my hair healthy and manageable.

29, started growing my hair out during the pandemic. While my friends and peers somewhat pressured me to not go for it, as short hair as suited me throughout my life, I’m glad I went through with it. A lot of friends and colleagues my age have succumb to balding, I’m one of the lucky few that have maintained a normal hairline and there’s a lot of envy from them in that regard. I miss having short hair at times but I’ve never felt more comfortable and happy with my appearance since growing it out. Your videos have helped motivate me throughout the process, Luca! Keep doing what you’re doing.

I am 17 now. My last hair cut was in January 2020. My hair reaches almost over my chest. People around me tell me that they don't remember how I was without long hair. They always tell me that I look great. But in the last few days (maybe a month), I've been thinking about cutting it, either because I want the feeling of a new hairstyle or because having long hair takes a lot of time and effort (I have to shampoo every day). I never got a maintenance cut, maybe if I do, it will make me enjoy more my long hair.

Luca, you have been an inspiration for me for a long time now. I discovered your channel whilst I was growing out my hair and I was delighted to know that I had started my hair journey around the same time as you! There were many times during the awkward phase where I wanted to cut my hair but I kept going back to your channel for hair inspo. My goal was to grow a man bun and I am safe to say that I have accomplished that. I will be cutting my hair on Saturday and it has been a wild journey. Thank you Luca for the content. I guess I must be among the lucky few - I started growing my hair out at 39, and am now 42. Your videos are always enjoyable, many thanks. I suppose flattery will get you everywhere (referring of course to the comment about the lucky ability to grow hair out in your 40s!).

I grew mine out for 10 months and finally got a fresh skin taper fade today and 2/3 of the length off. I feel amazing and look 5 years younger. I enjoyed the process of growing out my hair but just lost interest towards the end. Respect to those growing it. It deffo tests your patience

Started growing out mine at 30 yo, in 2020 during lockdown. It was a great time to go through that weird phase cuz there wasn't much going on. Been keeping it long for 3 years now and your channel really helped me tons!

I am 16 years old. I've been growing out my hair since 2020, September 1st. My last big cut was on the day of the start of the school year (almost reaching the middle of my chest now). I have maintenance cuts every 6 months. Your videos helped me a lot. I try to care a lot about my hair and have a healthy lifestyle. My father is bald since his late 20s so I am a bit anxious about thinning hair and balding (which I haven't experienced so far luckily), but I'll do whatever I can to stop it or reduce it as much as possible when it comes.

14-18 is the prime age to start growing out hair, but I dont see a problem with starting later!

Currently in my late teens, I don't remember when my last haircut was but now its to half of my back. More then 2.5 years of growing it out with just one cut in those 2 and something years. I am loving it, loving the attention, loved the process even if sometimes it was frustrating and just wanted to cut it whole I wouldn't have heart to do it now. It just goes well with my whole style and aesthetic I am going for. It is nice to be different then the rest especially where I am coming from.

In my opinion the best moment to start growing out your hair is right now! (As long as it hasn´t thinned out extremely yet) But it looks good on almost every man and if you don´t like it you can always cut it :)

Been growing out my hair since may in 2021 and i've reached one year and 2 months from now, the hardest thing about doing it is the discouragement that you get from the people and as a teenager(I'm like, 13yo) it's more tough as you still didn't have learned yet how to stop caring about what the others say but, by the time, I understood that, the best way to react when someone's mockery is: do not react. I mean, do not react at the moment, you can tell to someone else about it if you're okay with it but, do not show that you're uncomfortable with it, the core of most of these "jokes" is left someone unstable to force you to do something(most of times, something stupid) to feed the jokes about you. I’m 15 and my last major haircut was in October 2021. My awkward stage has gotten less, well, awkward, and the top of my hair length wise can go to the bottom of my lip. The sides and back have some catching up to do, and I did get a trim about a month or two ago. I realized along the way how much patience is required to grow out your hair, but I’m willing to go through the long waiting.

I’m 43 and have been growing my hair out for about 8 months. First time in my life I’ve had it long enough to tie back (top knot with undercut) . I work in a corporate job, but post covid work attire has become far more relaxed and I’m now at an age where I do f really care what others think anyway🤣

Remember that it's also very important to have a healthy hair, your hair will grow faster if it's healthy and you will look so much better with a shiny hair. I recommend you to put a little bit of caffé (with caffeine) and sugar on a portion of your shampoo and then apply it on your hair and wait 4 minutes until you wash you hair. I never had such a shiny and soft hair before. My friends tried it and they saw a big difference on their hair. Every hair is different so i can't tell you if it will work on you but give it a try.

this is so true having long hair as a teen is completely different because so many people asked me why I was doing it and they all thought they had their word to say, my parents thought they had to give me their permission but like absolutely not the amount of person that judged me just for the length of my hair is actually crazy and ridiculous like its just hair, get a life

I started August 16th 2020 at age 39 from a buzz cut with a low skin fade. (41 now) I was lucky and got to work from home during the pandemic and not have to always show all the awkward phases to the world lol next month will be 2 years of growth. I am fortunately one of the lucky ones and have very full hair. Only maintenance cuts I’ve had are to the back to even my hair out and not rock a mullet lol I’d say I have about 6-9 more months till I’m at goal (mid chest level) Love your videos man! There's a guy at my gym in his 60's who is in great shape for any age. He's been growing out this white/silver hair and it looks pretty cool on him. Long gray hair while in shape is a green light! Long gray hair and out of shape is a solid NO from me!

Had long hair since I was 15, cut it at like 17, regretted it and grew it out again, cut it again at 22 and regretted it and now I'm growing it out AGAIN. Guess I'll never learn..

Shah Rukh Khan an Indian actor is also very old and is growing out is hair at this age. But as you said it they have plenty of resources and flexibility and their profession also supports them too.

Teens is probably the best IMO if you've lost your babyfat. This stage of your life is probably the most dense your hair is going to be, most thick too, post "maturation". You can also be a bit more edgy as a teen and it would be seen as "normal". You also likely have a smaller face as a teen compare to when you're 40 (different people will experience different head growth). And if you were ever to experience thinning or receding, it would likely be super minimal if at all in your teens. Also if you figure it out in your teens that long hair suits you or not, you can spend your 20s (arguably when you're the best looking; people only reference older ages looking better with celebrities or people who put a lot of effort into their looks with age) with the hairstyle that suits you the best.

If you want then the best time is right now start your journey, because these days you don't know when your hair start thinning, receding hairline issues etc .

I can only recommend PRP treatment for prevention of hair thinning. My father and two brothers, one of which is my twin, all suffer from hair thinning and hair loss. I started the treatment when I noticed a lot of hair fall and it stopped it completely as well as maximized the volume. It's definitely pricey and a bit painful but so far worth it!
