The Global 64 by Tarmac should go with the price of a MiniGT too, right now they are too expensive for me. A MiniGT is around 12€ the Tarmac Global 64 is 20€ here in Europe.
Hmm, that's really unfortunate. They're definitely not worth that much. In the US they're much closer in price which makes them a more reasonable value to get some different castings but if they were to go head to head on the same car I'm pretty sure Mini GT would win every time.
@@markzebr6463 i have some and they have some quality issues too, not acceptable at a Higher price point. And at the Lancia 037 they used waterslide stickers all over the Modell, that isnt worth the money. Same at the Jägermeister BMW 2002 collab with Schuco. Double the price of a Schuco for using waterslide stickers. You can do your own stickers with a PC very easy.
No you are correct!! All car models should roll! Its a freakin car! The wheels should move! I feel strongly about this. I will not give my money to non rolling models.
Yeah, it's just a strong preference for me but I certainly buy a lot more Global64 releases than I do Hobby64 releases and the rolling aspect is certainly part of the reason.
@@StingerDiecast Same here my friend. There are however some other brands that I would like to try....cm, para64, and shuco. Anything with rolling wheels and above average detail I am interested in. Mini gt and global 64....above average. Not the highest but above average.
I only collect cars that can roll. Maybe because they give me another connection to my love of real life cars? Anyway, thanks for clarifying the rolling function on GLOBAL64 and HOBBY64 from Tarmac Works. The brand is growing on me recently.
cars dont roll as they are for collectors of whom will display them in cases. I have a couple of 1/18 models that roll and are a nightmare to move and take out of the case.
I had to get 2 of each to get a better idea of what was going between the levels of “premium”. It can get somewhat confusing and perhaps overwhelming to a new(er) collector. I like the Zonda, but the Pink Mustang was my first experience with Tarmac Hobby64 and the Tarmac brand in general. Very impressed with the detail in these brands , but moving up to the Global64 really gives you a reason to know where that extra bit of coin went (not just a pretty base for something to give it the elusion of being more expensive than it should be). Great review and explanation of the model tiers , Karl.
Yeah Global64 is a pretty great series I just wish they were more consistent with the Hobby64 releases. Some have been fantastic but then there are some that just aren't up to the same standard which is always disappointing.
agreed, the details of the Hobby 64 are incredible. Antennas, tow hooks, interior and exterior detail are a notch up. The race cars elevate them to a new level. Throw in creative packaging: crates and oil cans. Yes, they dont roll and arent supposed to as they are display models, preferably not to be removed from their base. I NEVER remove my 1/43 cars from their base.
Interesting video that's what first got me started with tarmac works was the Zonda R now I Got 5 or 6 interesting pieces find myself wanting to buy more definitely a brand to keep your eye on 👍👍
Yeah that Zonda really put them on the map for a lot of people. Lot's of Pagani's are coming from both Mini GT and Tarmac now which is cool. Hopefully they avoid going head to head on the same model.
I just started collecting 1/64 scale diecast cars 2 months ago. Mainly hot wheels redline club. I wanted a Volkswagen diecast and I found Tarmac Works mk1 GTi. When I got it I was hook on more premium diecast. So I tried a resin model from Fuelme. And I am 100% hook now. I'm currently selling all my hot wheels redline club cars lol. I found you channel from just browsing. Love your layout and how you talk clearly and have information on the brands and upcoming models. Keep up the awesome work. Plus you buy so many models lol. So awesome. Oh I just pre ordered Tomytec Mazda 787B #55. So excited to get that.
The Tarmac Volkswagen Golf GTI is a Schuco Casting, the Greenlight Golf is nice too and they have many Variations. Schuco will release a Volkswagen Caddy (Golf Pick Up) MK I this year, a regular white one and a lowered matt black one.
Wow, you jumped in at the deep end starting with Fuelme. I haven't picked up anything from them yet but almost certainly will at some point. I keep missing the Tomica Limited Vintage 787B, had it in my cart again last night but waited too long and it was gone before I completed the transaction.
Man your words, "if I had my way, every model would roll" is one of the features that make or break my decision to purchase a model.. cannot believe that they´re coming out with 30$ models and they can't make them roll!!! 😡 I'm trying to get at least 1 model of every brand and just got the Defender 110 as my first and man are they awesome!!!
Sometimes for a super slammed stance I can understand but Tarmac Hobby64 could definitely be better in this area. I do think this message is starting to get through to some of the companies.
The only reason I'm collecting Bandai model kits and not 64 die casts is because most of them don't roll. Recently found out about these and MiniGT so I got myself a Lincoln Capri. Hoping this doesn't turn into a rabbit hole!
Great video. I have the zonda r my only one so far but want to get more in my collection. Looking forward to the various Datsun wagons coming out for sure.
Literally I loved car brands but this changed everything due to that Police Mercedes C63 as it is the police from Need For Speed Rivals as I saw that “Redview County”😂
@@StingerDiecast no I haven’t I’m really trying to just stick to Hot Wheels so my collection doesn’t get to crazy😂 but thanks s for sharing and making me think bout it 😂😂🤙🏽
The models you presented in this clip takes you far away from the usual Hot Wheels models...these are something else...sensitive but very detailed... great models my friend
not sure if this exists, but its what I would buy/why I kinda got into modding: Tarmac Global64 level detail but with hot wheels mainline style axles/wheels that roll really nicely. cool overview of all the brands! will be watching the rest of these
Hot wheels style wheels won't be found on any brand that attempts for accuracy as the through hole design inevitably compromises the look. Brands like Mini GT and Tarmac Works Global64 attempt to find a balance between rolling and the accuracy of higher end brands but they definitely won't roll as well as a hot wheels.
I prefer Mini GT over Global 64. Mainly because the spoilers are in plastic (at least on the global 64 I own) while Mini GT uses solid metal spoilers. Also, I have the impression that some parts are not well assembled - my zonda's spoiler is not aligned by several degrees and I noticed a similar trend on few video reviews. Also, I am finding most Global cars around 16/19$ while I usually get mini Gt for 11-14$. I would like to know if anyone has a say regarding decals. My impression is that most Mini GTs use paint jobs over decals but I am seeing some decals on the Global 64. Am I correct on this one?

Tarmac produces some nice models, but set them next to any other supposed 1/64 scale model manufacturer and they are physically half the size. It'd be nice to know which manufacturers are actually "true" to the 1/64 scale.
Yep very true. I haven't had any major issues with the Global64 stuff but Hobby64 is a different story. I just recorded the latest weekly haul video that includes that Volvo and it was a big disappointment. JKM will definitely come for this series but not sure when.
Tarmac Works is my 2nd brand after MINI GT. I actually like their Global64 line more than the Hobby64, simply because wheels roll and the base is die-cast. I prefer the castings of MINI GT, although I wouldn't say they compete but actually complement each other, for example, MINI GT has the Pagani Zonda F and Huayra Roadster, TW has the Pagani Zonda R, Revolucion, Cinque and the Huayra BC (and in the near future the Huayra R); if you want the complete collection you'd need both brands to achieve it.
I would argue that TW is a bit more detailed then mini gt but mini gt definitely is getting better really close to the quality of TW lines. Mini gt gets the scale a little off at times but I understand all brands have there flaws
@@R26Roman This is how I'd rate them, in terms of details: 1. Hobby64 (TW) 2. MINI GT (Newer models) 3. Global64 (TW) 4. MINI GT (Older models) MINI GT has improved, A LOT, their latest releases are unbelievable good for the price, the old ones were okay. TW has also improved with the Hobby64 line. I couldn't be happier, both are great brands.
They seem to be ramping up the number of releases but it's looking to me like Tarmac is planning to keep their race cars in the Hobby64 and Collab64 lines.
Hej! I find it confusing with all collaboration, Tarmac/IXO, witch do what is it Tarmac's products or IXO. Have ixo a different product? Same is it with Volvo 850/v70 POP came same time, was it a collaboration or was it by chance?
Yeah, it is definitely confusing and I think depends on the specific release, but most of the ones I've seen are a collaborator casting in Tarmac style packaging. The Tarmac / Pop Race Volvos are different castings. I actually just compared them in my weekly video #28.
Global 64 by far. details, details, details. especially the race cars..Only buy Spark and Mini GT if the same cars are not licensed to Tarmac Works. However, Spark 1/43 are more like the Tarmac Works if available 1/43. Looksmart 1/43 are even better than Spark but tend to be expensive. If I get one for less than 50.00 I consider it a steal.
So you prefer models that roll. Do you have a preference on the base of it’s plastic or metal? I always feel like I am getting a lesser model when a premium brand gives me a plastic base and the weight isn’t there. I don’t care about the detail on the base but I like some weight to my model.
It's definitely nice when the base is metal. It's very obvious on the Inno64 models that are coming with metal bases now, they definitely feel better. Not a deal breaker for sure but nice to have.
the same. Tarmac works tend to. be more accurate For example: I have a corvette c8 race car from mini gt. the mirrors are so large, they are almost comical.
