Garage Built Hondas How much does tuning degrade the reliability of these civics? I've yet to get a solid answer from anyone. I want to do mine when a tune is made for it but I do not want to run the risk of messing it up.

Joe Friday none, one of my good friends has had Flashpro for close to 2 years now. He daily drives it, and also races people every now and then. Hasn't had a single problem yet. Tuning it just makes the most powerful out of what's available, and in stock form the 8th/9th gen are tuned for economy.

Garage Built Hondas Do you know if there is a tune out from flashpro ir hondata for the type r? I keep reading mixed things. Some say there are and some say there are none yet. Do you think if a tune is out for the type r that it could get a good bit of extra power out of it without hurting tbe reliability?

It will run lean on the basemap without a tune. No point if stock with no supporting mods.

Jesus Juarez thats true bro, but i ran bolt ons without flashpro for a little over 7 months, been trying to figure out how to draw power from just the bolt ons; I did alot of mods before flashpro particularly the race calibrated AF Sensor I found online to cope with the spikes in AF readings. It just didnt put out much power until I tuned it on Flashpro. It just felt totally different.

Diego Garcia you’re better off getting brand new actually. I’ve had friends who had problems with used flashpros that even tho its not locked to the ECU, its not able to detect. I think it’s those that are pre-bluetooth productions. Current flashpro models come in both usb and bluetooth.

Pretty sure hondata listed it for k24’s, k20’s, r18’s... older d15-d16’s have an older version of hondata though, believe it’s called s300 or something, but no hondata flashpro for d17’s.

@@TheGerbsteve ok. I know the d17 is a D with some rsx items compatible. Yes you can put a rsx ecu with kpro. Flahs pro i supossed is a piggyback?

@@vicoe4 A lot of us run Kpro in the older ECUs (D15/D16/B16/B18-engines). I've never heard of anyone, being able to use the FlashPro software on older ECU's. If, its a long hard road and time consuming. The best way is to get an ECU plus the harness for the engine. Hondata has a list of supported ECU versions.

Welcome to the fam ;)... I mean, you don't have too, but it is one amazing device. I believe you can go to your local honda dealer or send your ecu to hondata themselves for them to tweak it. Flashpro is good if you plan on changing set ups down the road. If you're just sticking with an intake, you don't really need a tune. A tune will definitely wake these cars up though, especially the vtec engagement down low. My vote for you, buy a nice intake, header, flashpro, and tune. You'll thank me later.

Great question. Flashpro Eliminates rev hang, allows for more midrange power, adjustable launch control, adjustable vtec engagement (for tuner), largest powerband due to adjustable rev limiter. Hope this helps 👍🏼

ZunoFG4 bro, tbh, my exhaust was only $129 brand new from Godsnow and its been great. Positive comments from people I pull up to saying it sounds amazing. It’s not a famous brand but its a 3 inch for sure.

Taffy it’s the skunk2 alpha header. I think the main reason he put this up was to compare bolt ons with flashpro, he might not have the skunk2 header now but he is definitely getting it.

Nigel Michael Teo Yeah I saw in the beginning of the video it said your Si had I/H/E/FP, Gerb’s Si wasn’t JUST missing FP, but also a header. This is my exact comment, that the title really isn’t true (flashpro vs stock) since you getting those leads in the runs also had to do with the header as well, regardless what the amount of HP you’re getting from it. That’s what I meant by my comment, why is the header advantage being completely forgotten about and the sole focus is Flash pro vs stock.

Taffy i completely get what you mean. But for me I feel that by just getting the header itself, you will not gain much. I install mods as intervals on my car and the last one before flashpro was the header. Running the header itself without a flashpro basemap tune I felt as if the car was bogging alot cause of unreal AF Ratio readings, my CEL goes on and off at times and that makes my car feel weak, underpowered if not throttled right before VTEC at 5800 because the airflow and piping from the headers is alot larger than stock.

Thanks bro, still a work in progress. You will not be disappointed. I'd say go with an 07 bro. 06's had a lot of recalls, especially tranny issues. If the 07 you're looking at has over 100k miles, make sure the clutch has been replaced. Look for leaks, mods, suspension clunking, etc. Let me know how you make out.

Tyler Baker currently 187k miles. I payed $4,000 for it back when I bought it with 120k on the dash.

It's an obd2, hardware device that allows you to obtain more power out of your car.

They range from $150-$500 or so. Tune lowers your powerband, so vtec comes on sooner helping with acceleration. Tunes also utilize the engine mods that you decide to install on your si and give you the most power from them.

Flashpro is an ecu management device. And yes, basemaps are essentially a starting point for modifications. Some are like tunes, other basemaps will make your car run like shit.

marcus alcala one of the fastest Production 2 L on the market... it happens to be an incredibly quick naturally aspirated 2-litre... k20z3 is a little fucking monster that's if you're comparing Apples to Apples, if you're comparing apples to Turbo apples then well duh... my car non boosted will beat 1.8T and 2 literT VWs All day not to mention turbo Scions boosted Minis, I can also stay side by side with a 24-valve VR6 no problem
