It's always funny to me when people talk wbout Kentucky's humidity. Kentucky isn't humid. Kentucky is the baseline by which all other States should be measured. Most of the South is too humid. Most of the West is too dry. I've experienced NorCal/Nevada Summers with no humidity. I've experienced Florida Summers with all of the humidity. Then there's Kentucky, right there in the middle. Give me that Kentucky Summer every day and twice on Sundays.
Lived there from 09-11. Absolutely loved it there. Miss the at times biblical weather and experiencing 5 seasons in one week. Lex Vegas is still high on my relocation list.
Winter in Lexington is rather bogus. They measure snow in tenths of an inch. (two inches is called a storm) They have fewer snow plows in the entire city than in the small town where I grew up in New England. March is terrific as are October and November.
Whats the safest paty in kentucky from natural disasters like tornado? How safe is Lexington and sorrounding area outside of Lexington from natural disasters like tornado? Thanks!
Not sure I understand what a paty is? Most folks around here go to the center of their home or a basement in bad weather like that. Tornadoes aren’t very common but they do occur occasionally. The worst I’ve ever seen was in western Kentucky but it happened a couple hours from Lexington. Another one happened back several years ago in Eastern Kentucky a couple hours away too. It’s a much more common occurrence in the midwestern states than it is here but it’s certainly possible, just rare and even more rarely is it bad. I hope that answers what you’re looking for!
