Hey, do you ever stop and wonder if putting a sponsored segment in the middle of a compilation of personal stories of trauma and emotional upset without the various OPs' consent might be exploitative in a truly cold-blooded kind of way, or if it's just full-on cringe-worthy? Anyone else majorly put off by a sponsor segment in an askreddit? I use these as a nice trivia game, and the voice switch in my earpiece is completely off-putting.
My sister pretends like my nephew is disabled when he absolutely is not. She bought him a wheelchair and puts ear defenders on him everywhere. He did a 15 mile walk across the isle of wight and managed just fine without ear defenders at theme parks and firework parties. He has zero diagnoses for anything. She bangs on all the time about how hard it is to have 2 severely autistic and disabled sons as a single mum. She lives with her partner, in a big ass house, he has a very good job and is well paid as is she. They have money, they have tons of free time. They dump the kids off with nanny every songle weekend so the can go out on the piss because "they need the respite" these kids are at school 8am til 4pm and go to bed at 8pm. So the two of them have to look after 2 kids, 5 days a week for 4 hrs a day. 😮💨🙄 winds me up. She didn't work until this year. So for 13 years she did not work because she couldn't possible work due to having kids. Meanwhile im out here also 2 kids and working 70 hr weeks plus and my partner looks after the house because he's actually disabled 🙃
Yeah that sounds like munchausen by proxy, called factitious disorder by proxy now. Hopefully she's not taking them to doctors to get false diagnosis and poisoning them with pills and such. Maybe look it up if you haven't heard of it and make sure the kids are safe.
The one about the guy faking a girlfriend sounds like the start of a Rom-Com plot... "pretend to be my boyfriend/girlfriend and we'll finally get our parents off our back." They get to Ye Olde small-town USA, help plan the small-town Christmas festival and spear heads the effort to save the reck center after the 10 year old niece with a maturity and wisdom well beyond their years cries about it closing. They start to fall in love, then have a fight over an overhead half a conversation, and get mad that "you're treating this like a fake relationship." Urmmm, news flash, thats what you originally agreed to. They realize they are in love and someone turns down the big promotion to live in Small-town working at the local Coffee shop barely making enough money to survive, on the advice of 10 year old niece. Then they are dramatically looking for each other, find each other in the town square and kiss at the end. Dear lord, I just wrote a hallmark movie.
I was playing roblox and this kid was doing a drowning roleplay. She wouldn't stop screeching for help and even started saying "BREAKING NEWS: A GIRL IS STUCK IN THE POOL AND SHE CAN'T BREATHE PLEASE HELP" over and over and OVER again. She eventually gave up because no one came to help her. Oh, and the kid was *ME.*

True. they're irresponsible and high strung to begin with, and adding alcohol to that mix is just asking for drama. If they cant join you at the bar, they're too young to hang out. TLDR: They're nothing but a liability at that age.
Used to have a best friend, who would listen to other friends stories, and then tell other people about the same stories, as if they had happened to her. She must have done this so many times, because she clearly lost track of who told what story, and ended up telling me my own story that happened to me, as if it happened to her. I just went silent when she finished, and she looked all confused at me and said "have I told you this story before?" And I said "No, I told you that story. That was what happened to me" and she just went "oh...". It was really bizarre and awkward. She done many things like this, but the last straw was when my brother took his life and I was upset and needed someone to talk to. I called her up and she let me speak for 5 minutes and then hijacked the conversation onto herself for over 25 minutes, while I just sat there in silence. She talked about the time when her dog died, and when her boyfriends, brothers, wife's, ex boyfriend has taken his life. I knew in that moment, that I had never been important to her. The only thing that was important to her, was herself. I never spoke to her again after that.
Its SO comforting to know I wasn’t the only one who created a fake group of friends when I was like 14 years old! It’s a response to having a traumatic reality and not being able to process it, so you create a false reality
Maybe I’m showing my age but does everyone remember when the IMDb website used to have forums? There was a regular known user who was constantly called out on her bs, mainly because her life didn’t make sense and she got called out on it. I.e., she was a platform artist (whatever that was) that got paid ten grand for each show despite her makeup was amateurish at best, had 2 kids that were always quiet which allowed her to be online all day, and lived in a grandiose house that was obviously taken from google images. There’s so much but she was around the Britney Spears forum during her breakdown. One of my closest friends eventually made an IMDb page about her that got deleted like a day later. That website was a mess back in the day
Yeah I won't be watching anymore of their videos I don't do the whole commercial thing.. What is the point This is basically radio. I listen to Reddit stories on the way to and from work If you can make money doing that fine but I'm sure as hell not going to subscribe to listen to commercials I'll turn on talk radio... Like this is honestly aggravating enough to download the video cut out the commercial segments and then re-upload them like seriously that aggravating Now I'm off to listen to something else
When me and my bf just first started dating last year, an old friend of mine from middle went to the same high school as my partner so they were in the same friend group (I went to a different high school). When she found out we were dating, in front of her friends she started “cry puking” which I first thought was just an exaggeration of the story.. nope she cried so hard she puked. They never dated, she just chased my bf during the last bits of 2021. Another story which everyone’s confirmed to me was during one of a friend’s birthday party. We weren’t together around this time yet, but she’d try to sit next to him and get his arm around her while he sings karaoke. Then when she got flat out drunk, she asked my bf out again (after multiple attempts and simply rejected) and my bf simply said no. So her drunk self decided to leave the party and walk home in the dark. My partner said he knew what she was pulling, which was some drama skit or idk. But he couldn’t leave her alone at night so he chased after her and had to sit her down on a curb and she was crying about how she loved him, he had to explain that he can’t just be with her out of pitty. I felt bad when I heard this story because she was a great friend of mine in middle school but we lost touch throughout high school. And some of her friends, old friends and even exes had confirmed to me that she’s crazy and plan everything out in her head like it’s a drama. I hope her well though.
When I was a teenager there was this girl who was loud and did everything to get attention. She will have one way conversations with you and will have no interest in what you have to say, literally to the point that when she is done with her on and on blabbing she'd turn away and leave you standing there. She got diagnosed with MS and BOY did she use that to her advantage. Including using a cane when she could walk fine. One time she had the cane and didn't realize I was there to see her run across the room then straighten her shirt then suddenly use the cane looking like it was extremely hard to walk for her. One night, in our early twenties at this time and I wasn't there, but my sister and her friend group along with this girl were at a special concert where afterward they would be in line to meet the stars there. They were getting close and all of a sudden the girl decided to insist that they had to go cause she wasn't "feeling well," but wouldn't say what was wrong. The group wanted to stay, but one of the other girls "sympathized" with her and said they had to go. They left reluctantly and a HUGE fight ensued between all of them. When I heard about it I knew damn well what happened. This group of friends split in two. And this girl, whom her parents treated her like a princess and thought she could do no wrong, didn't think anything was wrong and couldn't understand why anyone could be mad at her. And we didn't know she could say such malicious stuff until that happened too. VERY hateful to the people who called her out but if you said even one thing about her, like accidentally misspelling her name, she'd cry for being offended. My sister hates her so much and I don't blame her. We're both in our 30s and this girl is still the same person she was at 15 and she literally thinks that everyone loves her like she's the #1 person in our lives. I haven't spoken to her for a few years now but she also lives with her parents who are still clueless to how crazy she really is (They didn't believe anyone's story about the concert, btw, cause she "wouldn't do that"). I can't stand people like her at all and will waste no more of my time with people like that. And if I EVER hear the type of extremely loud laugh she would pull that would last at minimum 30 seconds, even for the dumbest dad jokes that was told the 100th time, I will literally rip my ears out...and her loudest yawn, and extreme ways of drinking a soda from a can, and...UGH!!! She was crazy.
i 100% believe what you're saying about this girl and how much she plays things up but just wanted to clarify, not in the case of this girl, but in the general sense, that if someone uses a cane/walker/wheelchair at times but other times can seemingly walk fine it doesn't inherently mean they're faking anything. it's called being ambulatory, in cases like those people might use mobility aids and other times not, like they can walk short distances but other times can't due to things like risk of fainting or not being able to walk far. not doubting anything you said just trying to spread awareness as a disabled person about ambulatory people (:
This made me think of that scene from 'The Sixth Sense' where the kid gave a father one of the video tapes of his deceased daughter, it revealed that the mother had been putting drain cleaner in her soup and making her sick(eventually killing her)to get sympathy from people, nor only that but there were also whispers of the little sister was starting to get sick too so the mother was moving on to her next.
I knew a guy from hs who faked being in the AF, lied about why his marriage failed, lied about his bf cheating, asked for my help about the cheating-which led to hate being directed at me since apparently his bf didn't cheat lol. He then tried to reach out to me a decade later. He was 'horrified' when I laughed at him and called him out via social media. I IMMEDIATELY blocked that fool. Maybe Paramedic lady was stupid and could kill someone, but Endometriosis is NOT taken seriously. People act feminist, but the moment you're in SEVERE CHRONIC PAIN-you're accused of faking it, of being dramatic, of being sensitive to pain (WHICH HOW IS THAT NOT VALID???!!!!), so I can see wanting to make it a bigger deal. In school I had a really Toxic group of friends; One made up having leukemia and only having one year left to live (we had more than one year of school left so I don't know how she thought this would end) Another one made up an MS diagnosis And the worst one made up stories about how she got sent to the hospital with blood alcohol of 0.8 (deadly even for long time alcoholics) or how she jumped off a bridge to k!ll herself only to survive because she landed on truck driving under the bridge at the exact moment she jumped. These are just a few of the many, many things she made up! Haha
When my dad told his family that he had prostate cancer, one of his sisters also said she had prostate cancer. Said sister is a cis woman. Yeah, we had a good laugh about that one.
Oh my god I forgot all about Tokyo hotel, haven't thought of them since 6 or 7th grade. My sister started taking German in highschool and the teacher showed the class one of their songs I think, and she thought it was cool she could pick out some words and showed me. By the time I made it to highschool the German teacher had chosen mostly different bands.
My mother in law changed her first name bc she wanted her sister to "love her as much." MIL' sister is 10 yrs older. When sister had her 3rd child/daughter, my MIL changed her first name permanently and legally to the name of her new niece/the sisters daughter. . She literally told me "I changed my name to her daughter's bc I wanted her to love me as much as her baby." She STILL uses the name a half a century later and it's really awkward when we go around MIL's family. The daughter is now in her 50s and grimaced when I was talking about my MIL using "the" name bc I didn't know how else to refer to her. So cringe but MIL doesn't care. She sees herself as such a victim and doesn't care if attention is good or bad.
My mom had a young coworker who was like 25 working as the front desk person. She’d never do her job, always lied, always took time off and seeked attention constantly. When I became pregnant with my first child she announced a month later she was pregnant too. Girl was constantly shifting through BFs and sleeping around. Everyone knew she was lying cause she’d fake morning sickness and other pregnancy crap. A month later she supposedly miscarried the baby and took off almost a week from work. Boss didn’t have a spine to fire her at all and played along with her stupid shit. Eventually his boss finally got tired of the girl’s crap and put the foot down saying she either worked her job or get fired. She did that for a month before they really did give her the boot. All that crap she pulled really stressed my poor mom out and put more work on her shoulders. I’m glad she’s gone and after she left that job she got super fat. Karma deserved.

There was one in particular he made about some insta model who went to her own father's funeral and had the nerve to take/post photos of herself posing in front of his casket wearing an outfit that nobody would consider formal or suggesting one was in grieving.. And if that wasn't bad enough, she deleted them straight AFTER stating that she didn't see anything wrong or inappropriate about it.
I had broken my right arm on playground equipment when I was 12. My sister 10 spent a couple days trying to break her arm until Mom figured it out, "because it wasn't fair!." Because of type of break quite a bit of pain and it wasn't perfectly set so I said "all my magic spells would go off the wrong way now".

I’m not trying to be a jerk about this, but aren’t supposed to put on the video a heads up that there’s an ard coming up cause if you need and want ads to promote the channel to make more money I understand, but could you put like a timestamp for that skip over it it’s very offputting.

Any action for attention is really low and stupid. One does not die from lack of attention nor becomes ill. I have received no attention from anybody since the 8th of August 2000 at 18:34. I am alive, healthy, productive, self-reliant, independent, and function within the perimeters of a successful human. Nobody requires attention. They only believe they need it. It is actually favorable to get as little attention as possible. One usually attracts the wrong attention when seeking it. I really do not understand why one would want attention..
