That guy who fired the soldier for being called to duty did a big no no. That is a crime. The US military will drop the mother of all fines on this guy. They DO NOT tolerate discrimination against their servicemen.
Years ago, a coworker got threatened with losing his job because of National Guard duty...he told his commander about it. The military takes this very seriously , and will come down really hard on an employer over this......
Yeah they will I listen to One Reddit where the person's manager didn't want to let them have time off for military duty when they told their Commander hell rained down on that manager
I gave notice once and on my last day I was asked to stay until a replacement was hired and I trained them. The manager said, "I didn't think you meant it when you said you were quitting."
My sister tried returning a movie in the middle of the day and they were closed. She was charged a late fee, got pissed and pressed the issue. Turns out the employees were banging in the back room and were promptly fired.
I saw the woman who ran the front desk and handed out checks get fired one week when she realized she did not have a check. The company forgot to tell her she was no longer employed. She was coming to work and performing her duties...it was awful. That company sucked for so many reasons and that was one of them.
I was fired from Maurice’s clothing bc I purchased a pair of flip flops while on the clock. My shoes got wet while assisting the delivery driver bring in our shipment. So instead of working in wet shoes, I grabbed some flips flops and wanted to pay for them before I forgot. I got fired the next week by the district manager.
getting fired for not only working but technically providing financial support for the company well they don’t deserve you anyways i hope they went bankrupt and had to close up for good
@@anthonyfletcher8053 how does it sound sus? Have you ever been in a Maurice’s store? I was wearing ballet flats with my outfit, they got wet (it had rained since I had arrived to work) and the only shoes available that weren’t insanely priced were flip flops. Nothing suspect about it, but ok.
@@unknown20005 it’s funny you say that bc about 4 years later that location did close as it was the lowest performing store. I honestly didn’t think it would be an issue bc the only alternatives was I wear wet shoes while working which no customer wants to hear/smell or go barefoot which is a hazard.
I worked in a restaurant where the assistant manager was trying to set me up to be fired because she was convinced I was after her job (which I wouldn't have taken on a bet.) However, she was so bad at it that I caught her at it, and reported it to the manager. After that we were all required to count our drawers and fill our a form showing the number of $10 bills, $5 bills, etc. we had at the beginning, and she told me she knew it was because I'd reported her to the manager for shorting my cash drawers, and she didn't appreciate that I'd done that. Oh, well. About two months later I quit to go to another job, and two weeks later the place burned to the ground. Fortunately, no one was hurt even though the place was full of customers.
Very sweet older guy I worked with got fired right before Christmas. I felt so bad for him, since he both an immigrant and older, so he struggled both with the language and technoligy, yet he was always doing his absolute best, sometimes even spending his breaks looking stuff up on our own website to try and learn more about it and how to answer questions Last I heard he got another job at a warehouse
My friend drove two hours to see Puss in Boots the Last Wish with me then drove two hours back. She never told me she had work the next day and got fired because she got home so late she decided to just not show the next morning
Not me but one stands out for me. Shortly after I started working back in high school, someone got fired for both coming to work intoxicated and reliving themselves in public while their junk was out on full display
This type of crap 90% of the time happens to the more passive employees that won’t stand up for themselves or are at least perceived that way. Corporate is an EXTREMELY macho environment. Why do you think a holes get promoted quickly? Because the bosses respect them. I’m glad I don’t work around that caveman environment.
This is why you never give your all or go all out for any employer, they have no loyalty to you and don't give a shit about you. Hell I knew a guy that was fired right before christmas, boss was ruthless.
About the woman who was fired and left in her undies. Several years ago a Chilean policeman was put into suspenction after a big misunderstanding but he wasn't the culprit. He was ostracized and harassed by his ex-mates and finally fired. He was so pissed off he left the police department only in his briefs and sockets (this happened in the middle of the winter). That was widely published and the police tried to put him under arrest by "exhibitionism" and "immorality" but finally that couldn't be proven because the guy wasn't butt naked on the street. Reading the other posts all I can say those bosses and companies were sheer evil and crappy to their employees. I'd love to know if those people whe were unreasonably fired retaliated and put a big lawsuit under their ex-employers' noses.
11:10 same thing happened to me, only I was left disabled and unable to work, at all! I tried to go after the POS who hit me (of course he wasn't injured at all, even though he hit me head on, while Iwas sittingstill at a light) but he didn't have a pot to piss in. I ended up losing EVERYTHING. Went from having a nice place, new and reliable car, great long term job with benefits, decent savings account, a dog and a cat, good friends and great family to NOTHING. I still have my family (who I've had to move in with because for over a year after my accident, I couldn't even take care of myself) car is totalled, had to leave my job and home, so I lost my medical insurance, savings gone quickly and worst of all, I had to give away my dog. My family lives in an over 55 community and no animals over 25 pounds are allowed. No exceptions. That was the worst part. My life may as well be over... I'm just existing. I'm in constant pain and am a burden to my family and my community because the government will do anything they can to get out of paying out disability benefits to people who actually worked and put in money in case something like this happens. (Even though I know plenty of people who have never worked and are quite capable of working (and, in many cases, do work under the table) but have been able to fake some injury or another. Including a man who claims to be blind but most definitely is not. He accidentally read a tape measure in front of me. 😠
My experience can easily be described by one name: Wal-Mart. They had some bs accusation that I was stealing from employees. The issue was not addressed properly. Screw that store's employment managing.
I wonder why so many people was fired when they were at the hospital, involved in an accident, on surgery, etcetera. Is this legal in the U.S.? I'm asking because here in Chile this is utterly illegal and the company doing this can be severely fined if they are caught doing this crap to an employee and the justice will make them to pay a gargantuan amount of money to the fired employee. Even the most shady company is afraid to do this.
Aunt worked for a major landmark. A new company got a controlling interest and started the usual changes. This includes a mature, pretty brunette hired for her fluency in french. Practically my Aunt from another universe. She griped "I'm training my replacement, I just know it." Sure enough, within a week of them feeling her training was complete, Aunt was let go.
The only times I've seen someone fired so far, was: 1. One of the delivery drivers at domino's for taking 1 hour breaks, blocking the entrance/exit point with his enormous audi tt and allegedly eating the pizzas he was supposed to be delivering. 2. Someone from finance in my current workplace. None of us really have any idea why still. It was a few days ago.
13:23 I love this one. The company got what was coming for it. Joke's on them! 🤣😂 14:46 As an Autistic adult, that just pisses me off. I'm not surprised by the gross discrimination. 40+ years of it will do that to you.
I wasn't really fired, they just stopped giving me shifts for a few weeks. I went in and asked if I would ever get a shift again and they said no. Wish they would have told me in the first place.
FMLA will only be denied for very few reasons.....you haven't been there a year, you have used your 12 weeks already and it hasn't been a calendar year, or it wasn't something that FMLA is used for and the paperwork always list reason for FMLA so the story told doesn't add up
that one story about the work visa thing yeah there needs to be alot of changes to how things in the government work and certain laws and rules as well and the work visa definitely needs to be changed to create a sort of safety net so some d*ckhead boss can’t just decide to screw you over and maybe have some companies stricken from the list of available work visa jobs
my ex got fired and didnt know it was coming, his boss sent him 10 hours away to pick up a work truck but what he didnt know was that his boss already sent 2 other employees to pick up the truck before him. so when my ex got there 10 hours later and there was no truck he called his boss, who then proceeded to fire him.
I was fired from a Union job in Manhattan. What made this firing so awful? I was fired the day after my grandmother's funeral... 5 days before Christmas...2 weeks after my beloved dog died. I know people love to brag about how amazing union jobs are, but Unions are just as bad sometimes. You're nothing but a number to them. The moment you're inconvenient, YOU'RE GONE!!!
I was sacked cause someone hadn't put everything away in the cupboard properly and somehow jammed a broom behind the door so when I opened the door the broom came loose and whacked me straight centre on my face broke my frame on my glasses and burst my nose. I said am going to have to go home to the person you would call a supervisor I can't see without my glasses plus my nose was still bleeding and I was told if I go home that "John Smith" (a higher up manager) will sack you. So I got sacked for been whacked in the face by a broom, that burst my nose, broke my glasses and I couldn't see. To add I would have had to work on a factory floor and the broom was so jammed when it whacked me it felt like a slap to the face.
Fired from Home Depot for mentioning that defunct Radio Shack didn't hire me because I'm a veteran. The coworker I told this too took this as a military theat on her life. Home Depot fired me for threatening her.
This just happened at Costco. The cell phone company that is operating in Costco folded. This is bad enough but they had a company wide call and told all the employees they’re out of a job…2 weeks before Christmas. One guy was driving from Lansing to Bloomfield (about 1hr 10min drive). He found out when he got to work…
When I worked at Lowe's there was a customer about two hours Gathering power tool kits and putting them in a box of a plastic shed he paid for the ship went to walk out the garden center gate and the alarm sounded cashier waved him on through as the alarm would sound for no reason at times come to find out he had two or three thousand dollars worth of tools kits in that box we sat out only because nice customer what the help him put the Box in his vehicle and the box broke Paradise customer that was helping him was off-duty law-enforcement needless to say the cashier got fired I saw her a couple weeks later she doesn't understand why she got fired
Microsoft is as bad as alot of these storys I had bullies at work but they were higher up so I was called the trouble maker and fired even had a metal break down and then they wished to say I never existed and proclaimed they were against bullies in a campaign later that year was a fucking joke
There are many stories here where I would simply beat the shit out of the manager. Like some of these are so so damn bad that it would cause a generational feud with me and my family where I would work everyday trying to destroy that business.
