I am an engineering geek & am AMAZED of the process at the plant! Thanks so much for sharing that info. Very, very impressive! I have never heard of the capturing of the methane before for generating the power. And great to hear it’s water cooled and that that heated water from that process circulates to be used for radiation of heat. I did a process like this in my former home, had a wood burning furnace which heated my garage & (where I also had my laundry so the clothes dried as well)with coils of water circulating around it be warmed from the fire as part of my house’s radiator system. Pretty cheap heat!

Check out a video called "Behind the scenes of Dyson Farming with James Dyson" they have a similar setup but use excess heat to warm a giant greenhouse for strawberries

Michelin guide was created at the beginning of the automobile to help the car owners to find garages where scarce. Telling the owners were to eat was also helpful and the rating system gave a good reason to use the car to taste the food (welcome to France, one country, if not the only country whose inhabitants when they meet and don’t know each other , talk about the food they had here or there 😂). It’s been quite a while that some street food vendors have had a star. I agree it can be a pain to wear a suit. But when the place is gorgeous, it’s nice that everybody dresses up. And as you said the food there is usually worth it. Among the very best you can experience. And if you haven’t tried it you really can’t have an opinion about it since it is so different from the best dish you can make yourself. Last… you like brasserie. Have you head of « bistronomie »? The light atmosphere of a brasserie or a bistrot but food prepared with high end restaurant techniques. You would love it.

Love a geek out. AD plants are great for places that can match their waste production to power requirements and pair with the CHP. Those other vertical tanks you pointed out (at 11:36) are carbon dioxide, guessing for refrigerant use.

The engineering is amazing! I'm no geek but I can recognize quality and thought that went into making that fully off grid. I would enjoy seeing whatever you can show of the plant and maybe you could talk to a few of the other ppl who work there. Those steaks looked amazing! Give my Marian stars to the chef. 😉🤣

Hey Andy I Love your channel, especially the video on Birra tacos.I worked in a restaurant in London in the early nineties it was the old Michilen building in South Ken which Terrence Conran renovated after being derelict, he had the stained glass windows of the Michelin man remade by the original glass company because they were removed during WW2 and subsequently lost.The restaurant was named after the Michelin man character Bibmendum. When I came across your channel and saw the Michelin man in the background I thought you might have worked there but I quickly realised you are far too young. ironically the restaurant had no Michelin stars but I loved cooking there it was the best experience of my career.

Big fan Andy. Hearing you describe your perfect restaurant, made me think of Les Arlots in Paris. If you have any favourite neighbourhood French bistro style places closer to home (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) and would be willing to share that would be amazing!?

Instead of ego, I’d sub in profile, because at 3* level it’s art right? As you said, it’s not a commercial exercise but an increase in profile leads to other sites (fat duck > Dinner > Hinds Head) publishing deals, tv appearances… Heston was MASSIVE on TV in early 2000s and chefs like Marcus Wareing, Tom Kerridge, Paul Ainsworth, Tom Aikens, Nathan Outlaw, Michael Caines, Sat Baines, were on every show going and most of them worked for Ramsey. And if it wasn’t him, it was Roux bros, or Raymond Blanc at one point or another! Mad times to be in a kitchen in the UK!

It's actually a really interesting case study from a business aspect, brothers Andre and Edouard Michelin needed sell more tires so they came out with the Michelin guide to make people drive more thus in turn increasing tyre sales

Would be really interested in hearing more about the processing plant; what a great set up! Oh and I would call it a money box, even if it isn’t technically a box 🤣 unless it is an actual jar, that is, then it is a money jar.

I would say that Michelin Guide has the most weight here in EU, they lost there way with Guide Rogue, but they are for sure the high-end eating here, I been to most 1star in Gothenburg in Sweden, went to Maemo in Oslo, which has 3stars, but not been in 2.0 yet. But I for sure wear a shirt a jacket, depending on season for those, but I do come in blue jeans and not a suit nesc.

The Michelin guide IS from the Michelin tire company. It was an early marketing campaign to get people to go on road trips so they'd need more tires.

A waste treatment plant. How bad does it smell?
@McNasty43
@McNasty43 8 месяцев назад
I used to work at a prison that had its own waste water treatment plant, and you'd be surprised to hear that the vast majority of the time there IS no smell, at least not one you'd be able to pinpoint to a waste treatment plant. They did dump the effluent (treated and disinfected sewage) into a pond once a month, and that smell only lasted half a day or so.

How do you feel about Michelin giving their award to that Trans chef and HIS vegan restaurant, you think it was genuine or they did it for this whole alphabet woke movement, I feel like more deserving chefs got overlooked because they wanted to give it to a community that wants to be involved in everything, just my opinion haven’t tried its food so it could be “legit”
@m.theresa1385
@m.theresa1385 8 месяцев назад
If you take a look see you’ll find that there are many Michelin starred vegan restaurants, so I’d have to say it was about the quality of the food and the service, not about the chef. There a number of LGBT … Michelin chefs, not all declare their sexual preference and it’s not always discernible (it should be their choice). Being in NYC I’ve had the good fortune to have eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants, the sexual preference of the Chef has had nothing to do with my decision to eat there. Have a happy holiday!
@nicholassok5797
@nicholassok5797 8 месяцев назад
@@m.theresa1385 yes I agree, sexual preference shouldn’t have anything to do with the food, but that’s all he was mentioning throughout his interview I didn’t know it was a vegan restaurant until the end of it, statistically it doesn’t make sense for them to win one, just my opinion not trying to make an argument, but thank you for your comment, have a blessed holiday
