I think you did an excellent job of explaining without undue detail where the belief in an afterlife comes from. It’s hard to think of a world without us; therefore a host of outlandish stories abound to which we cling. It is indeed an existential dilemma. If faith helps one get through the day, why not? But facing up to mortality is better. IMHO

What happens afterlife can not be proved to alive humans,it can only be proved when one dies But their is certainly life after death too

Life would be totally unfair if there is no afterlife, as there’s so much crime & injustice with many people that happens in this life, which needs a fair judgement & therefore either punishment or reward. As a Muslim, believing in the afterlife is part of our faith. ❤️🇧🇩

I do not think uploading a copy of someone's brain is going to happen as Dr. Shermer is describing. I think the future is more likely to involve something starting like Neuralink where someone's brain is connected to an extension that progressively stores a larger and larger portion of memories, abilities and personality until the old original brain is a negligible portion of the whole. Part of that extension could even be made of biological clone cells of the person to a point where there is no clear boundary between the original person and the extension. Also, "curing" old age might happen within a few decades.
