In my opinion, you would need at least a dozen use cases that you have developed and showcase on your own website or GitHub. Then network wherever and whenever you can.
Upwork is pretty good. Don't try and make a lot of money at first, just aim for experience. I just landed my first Data Science job on upwork, feels good. Being studying Data Science for ~6 months.

Honestly saying, data scientists positions are less comparing to other postion. Compartively data engineers positions are lot more. If u dont get data scientist role try to get other roles and switch to data science field once u are in company. U will get lot of oppurtunities even if u are profecient in python. Try service based company if u are not getting product based company.

You need hands on programming language like Python ,if you don't know Python it's a month time of hard work to learn

You need to be good in data structures and algorithms. If you don't understand O(Log n) then I am sorry my friend its very very difficult to get into a good company.

May I also able to get 30- 40% hike(For average) even in the current worst scenario due to Covid-19 pandemic. My current CTC is aprx 5.0 lpa. According to me if your passionate about the datasceience you need to work hard on data science u need certificate and no certification at all for joining. You need good knowledge of real base scenerio. Please work on self study as much as possible create projjects and highlight them and get hired Certification should be done very carefully as they lie a lot

just like you fell for MBA hype. Data science is also a hype. what i mean is - MBA from Tier-1 and Tier-2 is OK. same with Data Science, if you are good with Math or in programming languages used in Data Sci. and its packages --- then you are okay, else, life will be same as MBA from tier-3 college.

Hi Aaron, I hope you mean the Information gain related to entropy. We basically observe the bin that gives any additional information than the previous one. Entropy (confusion) should be always a lesser value to obtain more information.
