I continue on my series, ''WHAT SHOULD I DO YOU'RE DEAF (Things not to say to deaf people)'' but this will be the dating version! What shouldn't you say to your deaf date?

As a hearing person the fact that this happens upsets me very much. I learned sign language in highschool and college. People need to be more accepting of each other. We are all human.

William is right. I took ASL in Santa Monica city college back in 1984. I was a special education teacher and worked with deaf kids. I love that language, so much that I learnt French sign language. I was born in France, and when my mother died, she was born in Israel, I learnt Hebrew and Israeli sign language. I think that sign language should be thought as a mandatory language in school.

Had me laughing the whole time! Hit the nail on the head. Especially the "how can you drive if your deaf/you shouldn't be allowed to drive if your deaf" and the "if you don't get the cochlear implant then you can't complain about being deaf." 1. You don't need to hear to be able to drive 2. Me telling you I'm HOH or deaf is for your benefit, it's not me complaining. 3. Cochlear implants only work in certain cases! It doesn't work with nerve damage. My other favorite that I get asked is "what music do you like?" Or "Who's your favorite band?". Really? And do you ask life long blind people what their favorite color is?

To be entirely fair to the last one, many Deaf say that they do listen to music and enjoy how it sounds or it vibrates. But, I agree, it is a little insensitive to ask.

I watch allot of videos that deaf people put out, for I want to support them with a thumbs up. So I hear what some of the issues that deaf people go through, especially with dating. I have situations in my own life that I can't hear what people are saying. I have learned to read their lips when they are looking in my direction, so people don't realize that I have, not extreme hearing loss, but somewhere between slight hearing loss and extreme hearing loss. If 1 is slight hearing loss and 10 is extreme hearing loss, then I would say I fall into the 5 to 6 on the hearing loss range.

Hilarious acting and sense of humor, sad and irritating true examples. Thanks for helping educate and bringing a little laughter with it. Also, you have quite an interesting wardrobe, and also interesting tattoos! :)
