Michigan J Frog was originally a one shot character from the Merrie Melodies short "One Froggy Evening" where a Construction worker discovers a sining frog and plans to profit off of him only for him to stop singing whenever he tries showing him to anyone else. He would eventually be the mascot of WB until 2005 and he was also the antagonist of the Special Teen Titans Go Episode celebrating Warner Bros' 100 Year Anniversary.

Static Shock was an absolute gemstone for its time, Jackie Chan adventures was a Go To series every time I got home from school, Card Captors...wasnt made like Pokemon, Yugioh,or Beyblade to constantly sell merchandise. It was truly devoted to its story from start to end, and even got 2 movies! Later the Tsubasa series would bring back fan favorite characters in brand new roles with a reference to their card captor versions on a rare occasion.
Yu-Gi-Oh was one of my favorite shows ever as a kid. I even saw one of the movies with my brother back in 2004 and I was obsessed with the cards and I still have them with me.
jackie is not a voice actor, not only would having him do more than the end credits q&a segments have run the budget up like crazy, but he's just more comfortable being an in person actor, so they got someone who was able to do a good enough impression of the man james sie who would later go on to voicing the cabbage merchant in avatar, who ironically took over his role in the kung fu panda tv series as master monkey
Ash has actually won three leagues in his career. The Orange League in season 2, the Manalo Conference at the end of the Sun and Moon series, and the Masters 8 tournament in the Pokémon Journeys series. The last of which finally fulfilled his dream and his role as the main character was given to two new characters for Pokémon Horizons.
I only took rebooting Ash's personality 2 times (Black & White, Sun & Moon) but he finally did it. :P Also, winning Battle Frontier was a notable achievement as well.

KidsWB was my childhood, before cartoon network and nickelodeon. My favorite was the animated superman and batman. When I got older, I hunted down the box sets for those, static shock, justice league, and even Batman Beyond and its soundtrack cd
Funny thing with Cardcaptor Sakura, it did continue. It got a sequel series dubbed by FUNimation, though as of now, there is no season 2 for it. I can kind of see why as, honestly, the sequel series isn't really that great. It turned the main lead into a borderline Mary Sue and made the battles feel more like an afterthought as they usually come in near the end of an episode and end within two minutes. One thing that also wasn't mentioned here is that the original series was given a mostly uncut redub. I guess some conversations in the original were considered too risky, so instead of accurately translating them or at least rewriting them a little bit, they just cut off the voice acting for those moments with the Netflix release simply replacing the English voices with the Japanese cast, and let me tell you, watching the dub and having that happen when those moments came up was honestly kind of annoying. The first time it happened, I thought I somehow changed the language settings without realizing it. On top of that, they kept in some odd things about the dub, like they still butcher Sakura's name (Which I have found out in recent years, a lot of the time when dub actors mispronounce Japanese names, it's because those who work for the Japanese studios told them to do it. I know Toei Animation is the reason they changed Usopp's alter ego Sogeking to Sniper King in the FUNimation dub, but I did not know how common that was until it was explained at one of those English VA hosted panels at Animethon), there's one moment they just randomly shoe-horn in an Addams Family reference... yeah.
While Cardcaptor's edit may have largely been time based, there was definitely censorship involved. The original manga was made by Clamp, an all women collaboration of manga artists who were completely unafraid to squick out the audience while simultaneously somehow maintaining a sense of whimsy. In this show's case, there's Sakura's best friend/cousin, a girl who happens to have a one-sided crush on Sakura that borders on obsession, and she's also responsible for creating all the crazy costumes Sakura wears during her adventures. Also, and this one aged much better, Sakura's crush eventually becomes her brother's boyfriend, but not until after giving Sakura's eventual boyfriend a sexual identity crisis. As far as Clamp goes, this really was the G-rated content
There was one very bad thing in the manga that definitely will never age well, the relationship between Sakura's teacher and one of her classmates. Sakura is in elementary school during the manga/anime and one of her classmate's has a crush on their school teacher, and the teacher reciprocate's the crush. This is still a thing in the sequel manga/anime Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Arc, where they have started middle school and the classmate has to go to a different school because she is in a relationship with their former teacher. Let me repeat, this is a full grown adult in a relationship with an elementary/middle school aged girl. This is not ok and will never be ok.
Honestly, a lot of the worst aspects of the show come from the plot point that magic users naturally find other magic users attractive. And the weird amount of incestuous motivations.

So background info in Static. It was made by a DC subsidised comic company called Milestone Comics back in 97'. Milestone was made up of African American writers and artists to produce comics for a relatively untapped audience. The highlight of this is the Dakotaverse a group of books titles that are all interconnected by continuity. Just like DC and Marvel. Some of the most notable characters to come out of that are Icon best an alien that with superhuman powers and lives a double life as a normal human. His sidekick Rocket a smokin hot tech chick that can throw herself at an enemy and use forcefields to displace matter or explode things. (Think of Negasonicteenagewarhead from Deadpool the Movie she has different powers in the comics). And of course Static Shock whom got most if not all his popularity from the cartoon. He instantly overshadowed every other character in the Dakotaverse. It wasn't until the past 6 years or so Dc integrated Milestone into their Universe. So Icon and everyone else can finally hang out with the Justice League in the pages, The results are mixed to say the least. The absolute best thing about this, is Their inclusion in Young Justice. A show that premiered in 2012 and is still running as far as I know and it's absolutely fantastic. A fresh POV on DC's popular characters while giving most the limelight to the not so well known ones.

Cardcaptor Sakura was a classic, the American localization was... different, the series is a shojo magical girl series, meaning it was aimed at girls, WB... didn't want that, so for the localization they re-edited the series to try to more aim it at boys by shuffling around the episode order and heavily cutting it up. They also tried to change the protagonists as well so instead of Sakura being the main protagonist it was more her and her love interest Syaoran who didn't show up till episode 8 of the original, oh, and Sakura is now more a tomboy instead of being quiet and soft spoken because America. There was censorship as well, because there was no way they were going to have openly gay characters in a kids cartoon back then. There was some... interesting name changes as well, like Sakura's best friend Tomoyo Daidoji being renamed Madison Taylor.

Despite having so much removed, Cardcaptor Sakura is still one of the juggernauts of the magical girl genre. It actually got a sequel with its final manga volume coming this December. There’s also a crossover series called Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, which combines all of CLAMP’s manga into a connected story but the main character is Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura.

All the way back in the year 2000 on his second ever adventure Ash conquered not just that region's "Gyms" but the whole Orange League whose Champion, Drake (no, not Hoenn's Drake), was easily Elite 4 comparable. After having lost Gen 3's Hoenn League and not yet having learned about the existence of Gen 4's Sinnoh region Ash set his sights on conquering the Battle Frontier, a set of postgame facilities for competitive players introduced that generation that had their own "badges". While the so-called "Frontier Brains" in charge of each facility have debatable strength that undoubtedly lies somewhere around Elite 4 comparable the strongest among them was Brandon who is Champion comparable. Ash successfully conquered the Battle Frontier back in 2006 and they even offered him a job as a Frontier Brain which he declined to continue traveling the world. So even disregarding how impressive his "Pokémon League" losses are considering how far he's made it into those tournaments between all trainers who also conquered the Gym challenge that year (which is how it works in the anime, only the winner of that earns one shot at the Elite 4-Champion gauntlet) his becoming the "First Champion of Alola" that everyone raved about back in 2019 was really just the then latest achievement to add to his list. Don't get me wrong though, good for Ash/Satoshi. It was about time the writers allowed him to win another major finale and he's long deserved the kind of respect some fans started giving him as a result.
I remember a lot of these, Mucha Lucha was one I watched all the time, and I gotta agree that I loved the version of Joker from The Batman And to be fair about Krypto, Superman only said that because he saw how sad the boy and krypto got when they thought they wouldn't see each other again.

Kids WB was not the most consistent cartoon block compared to Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network in terms of popularity, it was one of the most immersive with the block commercials in between each show and the most action packed lineup and had gnarly humor. I grew up loving Batman TAS and Animaniacs, but Pokémon and YuGiOh were the main hooks for me and my brother.

Yes, DEATH BATTLE!, Batman Beyond vs Spider-Man 2099. Walter spend about 3 or 4 consecutive years covering each detailed episode of the 90s Batman Animated Series in May, appropriately dubbing it Bat-May. The last Bat-May was around or sometime after the passing of Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in that series. I liked the Osmosis Jones movie. Ozzy & Drix was a fun series. I have doubts that Baby Looney Tunes and Krypto was on Kids WB, because I don't remember seeing them on it. A show that I remember that they didn't cover here was Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries. Now that was a Looney Tunes spin-off done right. This has the cat & bird's owner, Granny, as a globetrotting detective. While she and Tweety try the solve the mystery of the episode, while Sylvester tries to eat Tweety, but gets thwarted by either Tweety, Granny, or most of the time, Granny's dog, Hector. A funny series all around, even if it only lasted 2 seasons.

Hell, Death Battle was originally going to be called "Who Would Win?". Which was inspired by Fandoms asking that exact question, but the Creators wanted the Title to be able to bring people in and well, the rest is History :)

My favorite show from this list... Static Shock. As cringy as it is to be calling people who suped up from the bang gas 'bang babies' it really was a great show. Nice cross overs with Batman, great life lessons to be learned by kids and adults alike, qnd compelling character arcs with one going from villain to antihero to a hero in his own right. (Getting the piccolo treatment basically and I am qll in for it.)

My favorite card was the flame swordsman, followed closely by celtic guardian. Although my faorite dexk type was the imperial flame emperor deck modified to tastes. Then 5 d hit and everything became about chain summoning bs and I lost interest... Still love collecting cards though.
