I love your shirt! And I also want to say that you are an amazing content creator and source of information im working towards enough money to get a chameleon and always write notes while watching. My parents told me to learn more about chameleons só that my carê is confident. They said once im confident theyd help me pay for it. They seriously do só much for me and im só thankful that you are a source available for me!And lastly something i admire about you is that you read and reply to comments even though you are becoming more and more popular. Keep up the great work! I hope this message made you happy, have a wonderful day/night!:)
Ive been using your advice but I found amazing Facebook group who not only gave and kept giving amazing advice , they also made calendars for different species and different ages , saved me so much because I was major panic with how to do the powders.!
@@NeptunetheChameleon Awesome, thats what I currently use 6 days a week for his calcium dusting but I was unsure if this was the correct daily dusting. The other 1 day of the week I use nutrabal I think its called for his multivitamin :) Do you think this is good enough in terms of supplementing? He has these with Locust, Dubia Roaches and Silkworms (UK) :)
You should do a video on which bugs to supplement and which not to. Cause I know some bugs are already high in calcium so should we not supplement those?
I'm a beginner keeper and have found your videos so helpful!! However, I'm also Deaf and rely on closed captions to get the info. You use auto-generated captions, which are known as "craptions" in the Deaf community due to their inaccuracies. The auto-generated captions in your videos aren't always accurate, so I miss out on what could be important info. Would you mind getting legitimate English captions for your videos? There are several resources/options available. There are companies that will caption the videos for you, such as one company that will caption for as cheap as $1/video minute. I've also seen RU-vidrs ask their viewers to volunteer to caption the videos for them in whatever language(s) the viewers are fluent in so their videos can be as accessible as possible.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention. While I would love to pay for a company to create captions for my videos, the channel is not in a place financially to be able to do that. Even for $1/minute with hundreds of videos on RU-vid already it would easily be over $1,000 for me to add professional captions. That being said, I want to strive for my videos to be inclusive, and make sure you have access to correct chameleon care info so I can offer you two things. First, I found a way for me to edit auto captions on my videos -- so moving forward I will make an effort to edit those to be as accurate as possible. Secondly, chameleonacademy.com/ & www.chameleonforums.com/ are two great written resources when it comes to chameleon care and would suggest also checking those out. Hope that helps!!
Thank you so much for all of the knowledge you share with us! I have a 3-month-old male veiled chameleon. He has white buildup around his nose, I have read that it could be from salts or excess calcium. I am giving him Repti Calcium without D3 every day except for when I give him Reptivite with D3 twice a month. I came back to this video to see if I was using too much calcium. Could it be that I am adding too much calcium to his food? I am only using distilled water in his misting and fogging, but I used bath water when I washed, repotted, and watered all of his plants for his new home a month ago. Could it be the salt is emitting from the plants?
I have never heard of the white nose buildup being an excess of calcium. It is totally normal for this to happen and it sounds like your supplements are correct. Just make sure you are providing a light dusting on the bugs, and you should be fine. I don't think your plants are problematic either.
Depending on what supplements you use, Vitamin A will most likely be in your multivitamin and should only be used 1-2x a month depending on your species. I’d rewatch the section on supplement schedules for a more detailed explanation :)
Hi Neptune, my veiled chameleon is about 8 months old I believe and I was wondering if I should switch to regular instead of small crickets....and soon I should start feeding her less right because she recently stopped eating as much, should I only feed her once every other day? And if I did that how often should I powder them with calcium with D3?.....I used to feed her everyday and only powder the every other time because the D3 can be toxic...?
Have you seen my video on how much to feed a chameleon? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-guaLIJ_a-1s.html That should be a big help! And you'll use your multivitamin with D3 2x a month just like normal :)
When you say supplement calcium with d3 twice a month, do you mean one feeding on those two days of the month? I typically feed my cham 2-3 times a day. Wondering if I should add calcium with d3 to all the feedings on those days twice a month. Thanks and keep up the content!
Once a chameleon is 3 months old, they should only be fed 1x a day in the morning. Check out Chameleon Academy for a supplement schedule for a chameleon that is younger than 3 months old. Hope this helps!
Here is my video on how much to feed a chameleon: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-guaLIJ_a-1s.html I also have one on the best time to feed a chameleon.
is there any way you could please possibly send me a list of a schedule i can use the only vitamin i currently have is the reptivite with d3 the one you included in the video i just don’t know what other supplements i would need to get after currently using this one and how often i would need to use them for my chameleon is 4 yrs old and you’ve helped me throughout all these years i hope you keep these awesome videos going they are extremely awesome 🤩 i really just want to keep him nice and healthy i just want a better lifestyle for him ❤
honestly i feel like im asking too much hahaha would you be able to provide me with information on what other supplements i would need after already having the reptivite with d3 that should help me 🙏🏼
Depending on what supplements you use, Vitamin A will most likely be in your multivitamin and should only be used 1-2x a month depending on your species. I’d rewatch the section on supplement schedules for a more detailed explanation :)
I have a question! Recently got my little guy so im sorta new to this. I got the rep-cal calcium with vitamin D3 thats phosphorus free. Should i just throw it out and get the same brand but the green label instead? And then just a multivitamin with vitmain 3? Keep the calcium and vitamin separate essentially
You can definitely do what you suggested or you can get the plain calcium (green label) and use that daily and then the multivitamin and calcium with D3 1-2x a month depending on the species. Both are good options. It's definitely simpler to just use the plain calcium and a multivitamin that already has D3 in it.
I have a stubborn , male vieled chameleon he is a 2 year old rescue , with some injuries that healed. He won’t eat anything covered in the calcium powered , what can I do to make him eat the powered ?
hi! quick question. when doing the calcium part of the feeding.. (i just got zoo med reptivite without vitamin D3) Do i add that to each meal or do i add it with the calcium with D3 for the two times a month schedule? i hope this makes sense ! 😓 I would also like to add that I have already calcium with D3, for the two times a month do i also add the zoo med or is that too much calcium??
Assuming you have a panther or veiled chameleon you will want to use calcium without D3 every feeding except when you use the multivitamin 2x a month and the calcium with D3 2x a month. You should only use one supplement at a time and not overlap or mix. Hope that helps!
I’ve got a awesome hack for dusting: Just get a sandwich baggie and put pinches of calcium in there and your bugs. Close bag and shake it around. Boom perfect dusting chamber for FREE
Not sure if u will see this but I got mine 4 days ago he is great he isn’t as shy it’s I herd he eats soon I drop the food in his bowl but he is a baby not the point when should I start this process
Careful please mention that beta carotene vs vitamin a chams cannot use the a in this form :( When beta carotene is in the vitamin the Cham ends up with the same vitamin a deficiency symptoms as when they don’t use a multi at all.
So do you use calcium wiout d3 everyday except the last day where you use the multi vitamin. So every other Sunday you use multi vitamin. And on the older video you said to rotate from multi vitamin to calcium with d3. So what I am trying ti ask is how do you do it on the daily?
I no longer do what you typed out. I instead do what I suggested in the video. Calcium without D3 every feeding and 2x a month I use Reptivite with D3 for my panther chameleon.
@@NeptunetheChameleon so what about a veiled chameleon can I do the same thing? For example use 2x a month reptivite with d3. And calcium with out d3 all the other days with bee pollen?
Okay I’m confused, I thought earth pro A was a full spectrum multi vitamin with calcium to be used at every feed, would we then need to add another multivitamin to this? I know it doesn’t have D3 but I would have thought you wouldn’t need another vitamin on top of it 🤔
To my knowledge Earth Pro A has bee pollen, Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12 and K in it but it does not have preformed Vitamin A in it which is why a separate multivitamin is still recommended.
is repti calcium without d3 every feeding and twice a month repashy calcium plus? not the lod one just repashy calcium plus? this is for a panther chameleon
The Repashy calcium plus has more D3 than the LoD version and too much D3 can be harmful for chameleons which is why the LoD is more commonly used. I personally use Reptivite with D3: amzn.to/3o5wYnG
@@NeptunetheChameleon if I use repashy just on its own would that be okay? If not, I’ll go ahead and buy the lod one then do calcium with no d3 every day then the lod twice a month
I use the solar meter 6.5: www.amazon.com/dp/B01GT4EQYG?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzclari071-20&creativeASIN=B01GT4EQYG&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3O75E57RVWGRY&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_qv_asin
The repti breeze is out of stock and so is the large exo terra iam not in the us would the arcadia shade dweller 7% be sufficient uvb for a 3month old veiled
Depends on how bad it is. If it’s minor, then you can use Neosporin that does not have pain relief. If it’s bad, you’ll need prescription burn cream from a vet. amzn.to/3puh3QM
So in regards to vitamins and calcium and D3…I’m new to chameleon keeping and have been doing so much research, but Im having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. I currently have: Flukers Repta Calcium with D3 (without Phosphorus) Zoo Meds Reptivite multi vitamin without D3 Zoo Meds Repti Calcium without D3 *on order* Repashy superfood calcium plus LoD How should I be supplementing these and what can I eliminate out of all four of these items to make it feel less like a drug store lol
@@Liyah512 Sorry I missed your reply earlier. Use the Zoo Meds Repti Calcium without D3 every feeding and the. Use the Repashy LoD 2x a month. Hope that helps!
in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r-wxhcP9PtM.html you link to an old supplement video. I thought you might would like to update the link to this current video. Jared - Official Neptune the Chameleon Assistant to the Assistant to the Regional Manager :)
I went to a PetSmart the other day and they were selling a chameleon for adoption. The chameleon was 100% egg bound you could literally see the outline of the eggs inside of her, not to mention that they never put calcium powder on their crickets which made the chameleon shake every time it walks so it probably has calcium deficiency, not to mention that they had a bunch of plastic over a laying bin and they missed the enclosure once a week
