The difference in Brad's facial expression (confusion) and Lex's facial expression (party/smiles) was hilarious! I was a kid when this came out. It was popular and catchy. Some of the terms used today (some now considered old school) were brought to awareness by this song, imo.

This was a huge hit at the time and super-catchy: once it's stuck in your head it's there for decades. There have been a couple of heavy rock versions of this, but by far the best is by Scottish band Gun: you should check it out 'cos it's very good and really different to this one.

Back in the mid-to-late eighties making your own mixtape was a big thing. I think everybody who had a mixtape probably had the song Word Up on it. LOL.
