I got to see homerun 62 with my Dad. It was a great memory for a time that was difficult for our family. Him commenting on his teammates not getting proper credit shows what kind of teammate he was.

Bonds, McGuire, and Clemens each had the qualifications to be enshrined well before PED's . They need to stop using the "Sainted" writers as HOF voters. The only way to properly evaluate players is comparing them to the players they competed against.

The Hall of fame without Mark McGwire means nothing to me. It's a joke. There are steroid users in the hall, he is being punished for something that more than half the league was doing. He saved baseball, period.

Put him in. The whole era used them. He came clean eventually and was always a good teammate and was widely praised for his time as a hitting coach.

Baseball needs to acknowledge the steroid era, perhaps a separate section of the HOF, and get these boys in. There was no rules or testing at the time. They still had to put in the work and play the game. Steroids alone aren't going to make the average Joe into Babe Ruth by itself.

True, but I feel like if there was even one player competing without the use of steroids during that time then it is unfair for them to make the Hall because they gained an ‘advantage’ over the competition. If everyone was using them then I think it’s okay.

I was there too. I remember his bat making this sonic boom noise and my father saying...."oh my God" as that ball sailed into the black. The highlight doesn't do it justice. You had to be there. It was a mammoth shot that got out in a blink of an eye.

The one thing that bothers me about the steroid situation, the writers knew, Baseball knew, and let it go. The game and everyone involved profited from steroids.

Everyone in life makes mistakes including myself. Some are bigger than others. Out of all the players who used steroids, Mark was the worst. Not because he used steroids. Let me explain. The day Mark broke Roger Maris single season HR record, he ran up to the stands & hugged Roger Maris's widow & sons. This was showcased in the TV movie about Roger Maris's life called "61". To me, this was the worst thing that happened in MLB. Knowing you cheated. Knowing you took steroids. Then embracing the family of Roger Maris in a show of support, like you cared. This was disgusting.

Because he wanted to break Maris's record? So this is better??? The guys a fake phoney fraud in my opinion.
