Another good video on the negatives of coffee! That weird tired feeling might be what's called "wired but tired," like you're exhausted but also revved up, just in a more stressed than positive or productive way.

I'm 'on the road' to quitting caffeine to see if it cures a number of issues I have been having with my skin aha. It'll be ironic if the cause of the last 10 years of issues will be the cause of coffee - my skin was perfect before. Anyway......in the lead up to quitting, one adjustment I have made is to cut my cups of coffee down to 2, and no coffee/caffeine after 11am. What a difference!! My energy levels are significantly higher, and I am now sleeping much better. I'll be finished the last of my coffee inside a few days, and then its caffeine free from then on!!

I also started drinking it in the military. It's been 12 years and finally stopped. I workout and eat well but have NEVER been able to lose the little fat on my stomach. Since I've stopped, I can finally start to see a bit of abs.

Good to hear and it's more proof to the people that think you need drugs to lose weight or develop your body.

It had to be the stress on the body that coffee does.

I like your critique of coffee being the drug of capitalism. Crystal meth started out as a working man’s drug- to keep workers going through long hours of arduous labor. I sometimes wonder what chaos would break out if we suddenly lost access to coffee as a society.

I'm down to two cups of tea now. When I was young I would drink 8-12 cups of tea. I often ended up with cold sweats. According to Hubermann your brain create more adenosine receptors as you drink more caffeine, but this only works for a while and eventually you'll crash because all your adenosine chickens come home to roost at the same time :) I'm thinking about quitting tea as well since I don't really experience any benefits other than the fact that I like the whole tea ritual. Tea has antioxidants but do we need it is another question. According to fitness science you're not supposed to take supplements that contains a lot of antioxidants before or after working out because it inhibits the natural inflammatory response to a workout. Tea also contains fluoride which sounds nice but the fluoride isn't supposed to go to your stomach. Tea may also contain heavy metals just like dark chocolate. It's funny, caffeine absolutely worked when I was in my twenties, but by the time I was thirty it had lost most of its effect. Now I don't get any effect other than messing up my sleep if I drink tea or cola too late in the evening. Dark chocolate also contains caffeine.

Day 5 drinking Teeccino, (they even have a RU-vid Channel) I seem to have a low flu like symptom. Is it normal when quitting coffee?

I don't really drink coffee anymore because I simply stopped making it but I used to since I was a kid (mixed with milk and then at my teens and so on just pure coffee) never got any side effects besides a very slight shake on my hands that just became really noticeable if I drank a bottle or more (it's been such a while now though that it might have been unrelated). The thing though is there are lots of different types of coffees, for most of my life I drank coffee that I would just randomly buy on the supermarket, that was conilon, a type of coffee really high on caffeine, probably mixed with a bunch of chemicals and for sure not the healthiest choice. When I entered adulthood I started to do even more changes targeting becoming healthier so I just stopped buying that coffee and started buying 100% arabic coffee from a place that I knew were not using any bullshit on it, nothing really changed besides a better taste and it feeling a bit lighter if I used the same concentration, like it stopped being a beverage. So if someone is worried about the health factors that's something to think of, about side effects, although the slight things I used to felt did slightly improve I really never had side effects, could literally drink coffee before going to bed since it's a warm and cozy beverage and would sleep like a baby, then there's also the detail that I just go to bed when feeling sleepy, don't know how it would work out if I just laid down before getting sleepy and trying to sleep on it. Test it out.
