Losing your lead singer, especially when he had a pretty unique voice, is basically a death sentence for most bands. These guys came back with one of their best albums instead.
It was Bon Scott himself who'd told the other guys in the band he had seen this amazing singer who was screaming his head off on stage like noone else. He of course didn't realize Brian Johnson's apendix had burst on stage the night he saw him and that was why he was screaming his head off.
Bro Bon Scott was almost everything ... I am still sad after 40 years and my tears goes. I was on concert of AC/DC here in 2010, impresive was ... but bro Bon was so missing for me for full joy.
Although Angus, Brian and Bon get most of the credit for their music, the true driving force behind AC/DC is Angus' older brother Malcom (RIP), the rhythm guitarist. He came up with most of their riffs and his rhythm guitar always laid a perfect background.
And to balance your comments, the songs would not be anything without any member. Phil is a rock solid Drummer, and Cliff is seemless in supporting the drums with Bass. They are all awesome.
Never easy to have iconic voices in Rock N Roll replaced. Almost impossible after the passing of Bon Scott let alone come out with an entire album so masterful in tribute to Bon Scott with Brian at the helm having to fill such immense shoes to front ACDC. Hells Bells is a total send off in style to Bon. Back in Black a massive 80s masterpiece that still goes strong today as classic ACDC.
People often ask about the outfit Angus Young (Lead Guitarist) always wears..In the early days of the group,, Angus sister suggested that he should wear his school uniform while performing,, he did & has worn it ever since,, it has become his trademark.
only thunderstruk is a bad song... its like from queen radio gaga, peter gabriel sledgehammer... a lot of famous bands have this one really ugly song... but if the rest is as good as from acdc then i can live with that...^^

Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning, along with the fact that he was falling asleep in his car in a cold February night in England. That was a tragedy for the band and all of their fans. But they came back stronger than ever with Brian Johnson on vocals, filling the part perfectly. The rest is history.
@@tinamakaneoleAgreed! Easier and cheaper to feed the masses on mindless rap instead of actual creative musicians. Music industry’s fault for killing melodic thought provoking music for a quick buck.
@@ericv181dude im tired of you old people ignoring the actual messages on a GENRE OF MUSIC THAT ORIGINATED ALMOST A WHOLE PRESIDENT AGO! 🤦🏽♂️ Just accept that a whole genre did good even if you dont understand the "fast nonsense"
If you want to see a guitarist take control of 75,000 people and completely rock out, check out ACDC perform "Let There Be Rock" Live at River Plate. It's epic.
@bayareathrasher666 neither one is better than the other. They're just different, but are both iconic. They hadn't even hit their peak yet when Bon died. Could they have reached the same heights with Bon? Probably, but the fact is that they had to find a replacement. They did, and they just kept climbing. I don't hate on people for preferring Bon, he was special. But Brian is also iconic. Nobody else at the time could have stepped in and taken over for Bon without missing a step like he did. But, more to the point, the reason that their performance of this song at River Plate is so amazing has nothing to do with the vocals. It's all about Angus and the crowd.
Malcolm was only 5-3. A Gretsch White Falcon is a full hollow bodied guitar, that’s probably why it looks so big on him. Legend has it that he used it on the Back in Black tour. He played it so hard that it went outta whack and was deemed unplayable. Malcolm always said “Hit those strings, don’t tickle the buggers” Greatest rhythm player in Hard Rock. R.I.P. Malcolm
@@highvolts6620 As i heard it, it went out for a specific repair (I can't recall what) and he didn't like the results. It showed up in a RU-vid video a couple of years ago on a vintage guitar shop's channel. Can't remember which one. I believe it was used to record Back In Black as well.
Since you think the current lead singer has such a unique voice you’ll love the original lead singer and leader of the band even more Bon Scott sadly passed away quite early on in the bands career and this song is a tribute to him and the return of the band after his loss
Scott was taken to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The official report of the coroner concluded that Scott had died of "acute alcohol poisoning" and classified it as "death by misadventure".
@@Tbone.357 Yes, he fell asleep in the back of a car and was found the next morning and rushed to hospital. So, while he did asphyxiate, if was determined the underlying reason was the alcohol he'd consumed that night.
@@truepatrick24 I also heard it was a cold night. Hypothermia may. Have contributed to his death. I could be wrong, but I heard it in a documentary somewhere.
AC/DC BACK IN BLACK is about as classic of an album as you can get! Thinking of Aerosmith was not a bad reference,as Steven Tyler always brings the vocals, and his bandmates can certainly jam.Yes,he is spitting bars, bringing hard rock at it's finest! I met my husband at roller skating when I was 14 years old.Although we did skate to some disco,we were more the rocker types. When this song came on at the rink, let's just say we skated at breakneck speed...😉😜🔥👊
What really got me in this reaction video: "It's crazy how different all these rock bands sound". This may be one of the most impactful statements you said. That said, it really applies to ALL music that was produced before computer editing was possible. Pre-90s for the most part. The grim reality today is music is built using a 'formula'. This formula is designed to 'trick' the listener into liking the music. It's tried and true. Due to this, a LOT of music today sounds remarkably the same. A long time ago, bands and musicians made the music they wanted, without following any specific formula. Each band (and artist) had their own style, which was different from each other. While a band would have similar sounding songs, no band would ever sound the same. On top of that, the mass usage of post-production vocal editing also makes things sound similar today. Even worse is that when real instruments are played in a song, they are also edited to ensure that everything is completely 'perfect'. Producers can really change how things sound. For example, they can raise notes up full octaves, they can correct vibrato with a single click. Now, perfect vibrato is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve, and to be honest, when they do this, they (IMHO) completely destroy the artist's talents. The problem with all this is that no human is perfect. All singers have vocal flaws. All musicians cannot play perfectly in time. This causes the music to sound 'fake' if you will. Artists are simply able to perform a song one time in the studio and let the technical people sort out the rest. All of the musicians pre-computer editing HAD to perform their music with no real editing. Months would be spent in the studio recording things to try to get things right. Even so, the human flaws would still be in the final product. This makes the music sound much more natural and unique. Artists could easily do tours and do 100% of their music live (as AC/DC has ALWAYS done), where musicians today simply cannot. Even IF they are singing, there is almost always a back track propping up their vocals, leading once again to the 'fake' sounding music. In-fact, many of the 'stadium' bands actually sound BETTER live. The crowds really seem to bring the best out in them. AC/DC may be the best live band of all time. It's a shame you didn't do a reaction to the live version. All of that simply comes from the one statement 'It's crazy how different all these rock bands sound'. You couldn't be more correct with this statement. It's spot-on.
This was the first rock band I "liked" at age eleven I identified woah this is interesting and man. that's where it began, thank you you crazy fuckng Aussie bastards I love you guys .
The "rap" he's referring to is the charges someone might get for committing a crime. "They got me on another rap." All your convictions are listed on a "rap sheet."
Back in Black is one of the best selling albums of all time. For me, this song is without a sliver of a doubt, THE BEST ROCK SONG EVER RECORDED!!! Came out in 1981. I was 13. You can just imagine a 13 year old hearing this for the first time! EPIC!!!
I distinctly remember the first time listening to "Back in Black" and a teenager. It was after a long wait for AC/DC fans to see if the new lead singer was going to be able to pull it off? "Back in Black" was the first song on the album and that intro that led into Brian Johnsons first words of the song immediately hooked us. It was like, "Hell Yeah, their back". Whether you prefer Bon over Brian or vice versa, AC/DC always rocks.
Back In Black's been in a Dodge Charger ad (Of course, it was a black car), It's also in the Iron Man movie , and in another action movie I can't remember, but the head bad guy made his entrance to this song..dressed in a black suit. As ya heard, the lyrics are catchy with the same cadence used by rappers. The LP's one of the 10 top sellers of all time.
I saw the previous lineup in 1977 in some special one off rising stsr concert set up by the big rock station in Portland OR. They played with Thin Lizzy, what a freaking concert. It was the first time I saw Malcom use the wireless transmitter with his guitar. He wandered up and down the aisles playing solo's. It was great!
It was their first singer Bon Scott himself who'd told the other guys in the band he had seen this amazing singer who was screaming his head off on stage like noone else. He didn't realize Brian Johnson's apendix had burst on stage the night he saw him and that was why he was screaming like a banshee.
Thanks for the video guys. Can you please play the who don’t be fooled again live in the UK in the mid 70s as soon as you can because at my age i could be dead to Morrow. 😂😂😂Cheers thanks guys
The Back In Black album was dedicated to their previous n singer, not particularly specific songs. And that album has sold 25 million copies in the US. If you as a man haven't listened to that album while drinking whiskey relaxing at home, you missed a rite of passage.
I just found out recently that AC/DC is an Australian band. I had always thought they were from Scotland. Though the lead singer Brian Johnson is from the UK.
The perfect jam song. So legendary. Who hasn't heard at least part of this song somewhere at this point. We played the hell out of this album when it came out. And yeah little school boy has some moves 😂😂👍👍
You REALLY should react to the original vocalist/singer Bon Scott (R.I.P. 🙏❤️) In memory of him,, AC/DC "It's A Long Way To The Top" (If You Want To Rock & Roll)
Guys I LOVE ACDC !!! Bonn Scott was original lead singer. BACK IN BLACK was going to be his break out. Until his in timely passing. But when Brian Johnson took over as lead , I think that’s when ACDC really took off. Pick any song from this album and it ROCKS. I really wish someone, anyone would do a reaction to RIDE ON. It was a Bonn Scott song. But it’s an awesome blues song I think you guys would really enjoy!!
So, every AC/DC fan was bereft when original singer Bon Scott died. He was legendary. Irreplaceable. But when they got Brian Johnson in to replace him, all the AC/DC fans were like ‘ummm…ok….this guy is actually perfect for the band.’ He sounded like this 40 years ago and he still sounds the same today. Utter legend.
Being a teen listening to the iconic AC/DC was and still is so fricken awesome 😎🤟🎶🎵 try some of their live concerts. Love your reactions from Canada ❤🇨🇦✌River Plate concert Whole lota Rosie this concert will BLOW YOUR MIND SEEING HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE !!!!
AC/DC ‘s catalogue spans decades. Please follow my advice and listen to it all. You will not be disappointed. They were an international powerhouse. AC/DC is part of a pantheon that includes “The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Mettalica. Meaning they go anywhere in the world and sell out a stadium.
This song was in Iron Man, Megamind, The Karate Kid, The Smurfs 1, and other movies. This album was shot in Nassau, The Bahamas. F.Y.I. Malcolm Young was always criminally underrated.
It's literally impossible to be a citizen of the United States over 12 years old and not have heard Back in Black before. The official story on Bon's passing was that he drank too much, passed out in the back seat of a car in the middle of winter and choked on his own vomit. If you dig a little deeper into the story, you'll find out that it's about 99.9% likely he overdosed on heroin and was carried to that car.
New Zealand has a Band called Shihad, very influenced by AC⚡DC & the latter would share studios and take them on Tour. They have a song called Pacifier - really worthy of a reaction, this won't get many up votes as New Zealand is very outta the way but worthy of your time, the community may really enjoy it too. Go well.
“No one’s gonna get me on another RAP” means, no one is get him on another “case”, or pin another crime on him. Gotta remember this is 1980, 5-10 years before “rap music” was being played mainstream and got popular.
The story that goes with the change of lead singers is that Bon Scott saw Brian Johnson performing while in England and was impressed and had mentioned him to the rest of the band. What came out later is that Brian's performance was coloured by him sufferings from appendicitis as the time.
From Google "The song is featured in the movies Iron Man, Megamind, The Muppets, The Smurfs, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Family Guy and other films and TV shows."
He's Australian rock music's most iconic figure. After slogging it out through 15 years of touring, boozing and in-your-face performances, Bon Scott was on the cusp of international stardom with AC/DC. Then, out of the blue, he was found dead in a tiny Renault on a freezing day in London in 1980. He was 33. It was an inglorious end to a life lived in technicolour, one that has spawned countless books, articles and theories from fans and devotees around the world. I've read most of them in the course of researching tonight's Australian Story episode on the enigmatic singer. However, the story that most rings true to me is told by a 75-year-old in a wheelchair in the Adelaide working-class suburb of Largs North. Health problems have prevented Bruce Howe from playing his beloved bass guitar for the past seven years. But, in the early 1970s, he was Bon Scott's housemate and the undisputed leader of Fraternity, the art rock band that Bon sang - and played recorder - with before joining AC/DC in 1974.
The lead single from this album, “You Shook Me All Night Long” is likely their most recognized song. That said, there were so many, like “Highway To Hell” and many more.
The lyric you heard was, "'Cause I'm back on the track and I'm beatin' the flack Nobody's gonna get me on another rap", meaning he wont get caught for another crime. One informal definition of rap is :a criminal charge. For instance, "what are you in prison for? I caught a murder rap..." So he is not referring to rap in the musical way. Also, yes you have likely heard this song in a movie as it has been in a number of them, probably most notably the first "Iron Man" movie and "Spider Man: Far From Home".
Truly one of the best ever bands! He was actually the singer Bon wanted to replace him if ever something happened. He can actually sing with a more normal voice which I didn't think he could until I seen some video of him singing with an earlier band. Didn't sound like he does with AC/DC.

A truly iconic Classic Rock song . Never changed the radio channel when this sucker came on. And AC/DC has 2 more songs that are R&R mainstays -- > You Shook Me All Night Long and Highway To Hell .
A rap, in this context, is a police charge of breaking the law. React to Bon Scott, their first singer, with Jail Break, If You Want Blood, Hell’s Bells or It’s A Long Way To The Top.
Iron Man opening scene. Back in Black, Thunderstruck, Hell's Bells, It's a Long Way to the Top, If you Want to Rock and Roll, TNT, For Those About to Rock, We Salute You....This band is known for iconic songs.
1973 they started in Sydney , Named by their sister after a vacuum cleaner. After Bons death they created a monster album , which i i think to this day was only beaten by Michael Jackson - Thriller. They haven't changed there style. That's why they still sell out stadiums. Many bands look up to AC/DC as the the benchmark. Look at Shoot to Thrill.
Lots of credit from their oldest brother George who was in the easybeats the first Australian band to conquer the overseas market he also start flash in the pan with Harry Vanderbilt also from the easy beats have a listen to them
