The fact that you see those assholes with prank channels who make stupid videos about random shit have like 5 million views and subs then make one video about "giving homeless people money" just to be regarded by their fans as "wonderful" people tells you a whole lot about the vanity humanity has turned into. That's the biggest reason to help people- it doesn't just do one thing nice for them, one time. It can inspire them to change their lives and then do the same for others. Positivity is just as communicable as negativity.

She probably didn’t want to be promoted. She loves being a server and wouldn’t have it any other way. Reminds me of my dad, he’s a commercial plumber who was offered to become a higher up (I forgot what the title was, I only know he would’ve ordering everyone around) in the union but refused since he loves what he does. He’s been working for well over 20 years as a plumber now.

Omg. Servers deserve recognition. Specially if they really go beyond. You don't know what a server go through unless you being a server. Is just too much. I m so happy to see someone recognize it. There is many people that deserves those that truly care and not motivated for the tip. I mean obviously we care. Is our living. Is the food we will be able to afford that day. But we as servers, monetarily depend of sooooo many factors. If someone does something beyond it duties. Please tell them it will make their day. Beautiful. Do more like this. Everywhere you will see an increase in service quality! Congratulations.

This was how my mother was. I remember thinking I would never be a teacher knowing what she had to endure every day. My mother managed to continue teaching the age group she wanted from the beginning to end of her career. Every time she was going to be forced to move she said that’s fine, find someone else

I worked in retail for over 30 years. Everyone complains but hardly anyone days thank you. I ask for managers whenever I get good help or service to tell them what a great employee they have. It's awesome what was done here, just wished I would have thought of something like this 20 years ago. Congrats to all involved.

What a wonderful story. I am Australian. When I was in the US in 2000 I met a number of servers of similar age and they were so accommodating, generous with their time and sincerely honest with their 'niceness' (if that is a word). We tipped what we could, but often think about these wonderful women who made our month in the United States of America that extra bit special. Thank you for posting this wonderful story. So glad you are out there making a difference to people's lives who make a big difference in people's lives.

I eat at that Red Robin fairly regularly. Right there on Manchester by 270. Just West of West County Mall. I KNOW I’ve been waited on by Colleen, her face is so familiar. But I can’t remember how good she was. Which might be an amazing compliment. That store BURNS through wait staff since so many are so bad. I remember the bad ones. I remember her face but not that she was bad. Edit: note that the wait staff has improved a lot lately. My main complaints about the employees there were from 2-5 years ago. Also, my brother works at a Schnucks (local family owned grocery chain for the non StL folk) nearby (not the Des Peres store but close) and those counterfeit bills were a huge issue in the area at the time. He turned in close to $5000 in fake bills to the local Treasury Dept over a few years. And they had to fire a lot of checkers that weren’t properly checking bills before accepting them.

I would like to nominate one of my lunch ladies at Plainfield South High School in Plainfield Illinois. Her name is Sandy and she always makes sure none of us have a frown on our faces, she always picks up everyone no matter their mood, she's always laughing and smiling and she's an all around great person and she deserves to be chosen because as a lunch lady she cares more about us the students than some deans do
