I work in a cemetery, and I can tell you that you don’t stand a chance. Caskets are often metal clad, and placed inside a concrete vault so that the ground above doesn’t collapse when the casket degrades. That vault has a lid that is lowered into place with a crane, you aren’t moving it. That said, burials usually happen over a week after death, so if you haven’t woken up by then, you weren’t going to anyway.

I really didn't want to see this video, but my brain was telling me: "Dude, you're gonna regret not watching this someday."

Fun fact: If you do have a cell phone, dial 911 regardless of reception. Emergency calls will go through any medium they can: military, mining, etc, so there's a chance you may be able to still contact emergency services.

Imagine being at graveyard alone and hearing someone knocking....

They should keep the tie and bell thing so you could give them a sign like "hello get me out I am alive"

To be clear: your phone will/can use any carrier's network to place emergency calls regardless of sim card in it (not even need to have any).

That's why you don't bury your loved one right after they're pronounced dead, the chance of you to survive underground after being injected formalin and stay in the funeral home for almost a week is like 0 percent.

The escape and wriggling out is not so easy as its mentioned here. It's close to impossible

There was a mythbusters episode about this. Breaking through the lid would cause the dirt to come crashing through and the person inside would be crushed underneath. The pressure and weight would be much too great to move, let alone crawl through it towards the surface.

As someone who is buried alive at this moment, this video is definitely useful

If I actually wake up in a coffin one day, my first step would be to not remember anything from this video, step 2 would be to panic horribly and die

This was the most traumatic event I ever lived through. I was fortunate because when the structure cracked, someone had already noticed sounds. When the ground sank a bit, they suddenly realized I was trying to get out. They ran and got help. After a few minutes my hand met theirs. I was only halfway out, but I knew there was hope. My legs were hurting painfully but I had to keep wiggling. They got my arms loose and my head started to break the surface. I felt a sense of relief. I was going to live. They tried pulling me by the arms but my legs were still trapped. They pulled hard enough one of my shoulders became dislocated. I didn't even realize it because the pain and exhaustion I felt. It was probably the adrenaline. Everyone kept digging until finally the got down enough to help untrap my legs. I ended up losing one of my legs, but I survives. Through all this, I blacked out. When I awoke in the hospital, I looked down at my legs and they were both there. Confused, I asked the attendant what was going on. They told me my surgery went successfully and I would be going home soon. I said, you were able to save my leg? She said, your leg? We were just removing your wisdom teeth. You see, my leg was never in trouble. I was just pulling yours.

not as scary as waking up in a casket, realizing that majority of caskets are buried within a concrete vault and then cemented shut before the dirt is poured over. If someone isn't embalmed. I would suggest the string and bell like in the olden days

This is one of my biggest fears because I'm extremely claustrophobic. My siblings and I got stuck in a room, i just knew I was going to die than 😪🤦🏽‍♀️😂

I love how most RU-vidrs that say “Try to find a sharp object or a pocket knife” when in reality 99.9% of people who were buried alive have nothing and can’t find anything sharp so I guess you’re just better off punching your way out.
