Hello, Marc and Paulette! This is a truly great video... awesome videography, pleasant humor, and beautiful streetscapes and views. I loved the Paseo las Alamedas and the Museo de Pancho Villa, but Victoria de Durango looks charming everywhere! Inside the Mercado Francisco Palacio Gomez there is a food stand named 'Comedor Las Margaritas' which is the go-to for the other Durango specialty of Tacos de Alacran... scorpion tacos... did you have the courage to try them? The Caldillo Durangueno that Paulette had was Pancho Villa's favorite dish and it's made with a special Chile Pasado which can only be found in the state of Durango. I worked with a woman whose dad was from Durango and she raved about the place. I know it's hot there but didn't know it also gets humid. You may know that SLP and Durango are Tao of David's two favorite cities in MX. Seeing his videos and now yours, I would love to visit Durango! Thanks for the lovely video!
Excellent video, gracias. Durango is typically ignored by youtubers. I'm super interested in visiting thanks to you. But I suspect its too hot for me to live there.
Thank you so much for your kind comment Emma. Durango is amazing. So many beautiful parks, building and walkways. It's hotter there than were we live in San Luis Potosi. -Marc
Great video! Durango has long been on my "Gotta see it" list. Thanks for the preview. And, your accompanying music choices were excellent! Really enjoyed it!
What a beautiful place, and you know what,I live right next to Durango which is Coahuila, but I didn’t know it was that nice,I might end up retiring there.
as a kid the place was a fraction of its size now. My father sent plenty of photos of the place, and now i finally get to go, bit different with all the development though was interested to take a horse into town like in the westerns. this was 1980s now its amazing to see. they grew alot in a very short time.
December I have family that lives there. Mezquital specifically and Mazatlán. It was a fraction of what it was, back then. Durango was the place you had to go to do your business, or get supplies and things for the house. roads was very bad you needed a Real 4x4 Truck or a sure footed Mule to get up in those mountains 1980s @@TheTwoTravelersInMexico
Thanks for all the information on Durango. We are planning on driving up there from our home in Mazatlan this summer. Loved the music you added to the video, what is it and how do you not get copyright strikes from google?
Hi Bob, I use Epidemic sound. I did get a copyright claim on this video for the music that was playing during the Indians dancing scene. I didn’t add that music it was playing over the loudspeaker system. I’m contesting it through fair use. So we’ll see how that goes. -Marc
Well I loved your little town of Durango I think it's pretty cool and that hailstorm was bizarre I found that town pretty interesting I I like some of the things that Paulette liked.
Those ruins are the old place to melt the metals as Iron and silver . Durango City was established in the 1500’s the so rounding areas in the wilderness is the Sierra Madre occidental with very impressive views , in other words is the continuation of the aRocky Mountains in Mexico
Nice trip report, I enjoyed it a lot. My wife didn't like it so much but I think it was because of the weather😂 For my part I enjoyed Paseo del Oeste, scorpion tacos, and the mining tunnels.
Que padre que visitaron la ciudad mas bonita y limpia de mexico y les falto come gorditas y visitar la sierra con los paisajes mas hetmosos que he visto para la proxima Dios los bendiga
Thanks for your kind comment. You’ve been with us since the beginning then. I do the editing but Paulette gives me suggestions. I use iMovie. I use Keynote and Canva to create my special effects and add-ins. Do you post your videos on RU-vid?
Where did you find the puppy! The old castle you found was much more interesting than the archeological ruins. Oh, you did go to the old west town, cool! That's where Paulette rescued you, okay, good thing you weren't on the ground watching the possible bank robbery, all of that dust! Durango looks like a nice city.
Im originally from California but I live in Durango if you guys come again ill gladly give you a personal tour and show you a really Mexican experience with our family and the restaurants you guys went to are not that good theirs better
We’ll have to do that next time. We didn’t about the gorditas. Hopefully I’m brave enough to try the scorpion taco Nile the time. Have you tried the scorpion tacos? -Marc
LOS INVITAMOS A QUE CONOZAN LA HERMOSA TIERRA DE DURANGO, DONDE ENCONTRARAS LUGARES TURISTICOS DE MUCHA HISTORIA, TE ESPERAMOS NO TE PIERDAS UNA EXPERIENCIA QUE TE ENCANTARA
The Durango-Mazatlán highway opened a few years ago and makes it very easy to get between the two cities. There's a spectacular bridge, the Puente Baluarte, that's very popular with photographers. Almost all the tours to Durango from Mazatlán include the wild west town which isn't my cup of tea, so I just hopped a bus and wandered around town on my own for a couple of days when I visited. Did you take a tour there? You said you got there on a bus, but then later said you drove to the other places you visited. Thanks for the video!
Brett, you are a fountain of valuable information. We went to Durango on a bus but not with a tour. We just went out and did stuff at our pace. To get to some of the places we used Uber. -Marc
