Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "do i need a license to sell homemade dog treats?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Seyenjamarn Bizarre Superiority - (should be on google have a look )? It is a great exclusive product for discovering how to sell pet baking goods without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my neighbour got excellent success with it.
My favorite tip was to Focus on ONE THING... I constantly feel like I need to be able to do everything and that tip helps me remember I DONT!! thanks. Loved all the tips.
Hey Victoria! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tips - that one is definitely my favorite too. Cheering you on with your journey! Feel free to connect with me and keep me updated on your process over on Instagram @justbakecause!

@@Anonymousess777 Hi Zea! I've actually seen an increase in people ordering from home bakeries! I definitely think now is a GREAT time to start your business. You can always connect with me on Instagram @justbakecause if you have any questions :)
Definitely focusing on a specific thing! I get SO excited to do this and do that...but I really want to hone in on what I’m good at and become even more skilled! It’s like a subtle reminder to slow down and “master” one thing first lol
Yes! I love how you said that - "master" one thing! Would love to hear more about your journey and learn what you end up "mastering" :) Feel free to send me a DM on instagram @justbakecause!
So glad you found it helpful Mike! If you're interested, I'm launching a program for home bakers that starts on January 12 - if you'd like more info you can sign up here: www.justbakecause.com/lyhbwaitlist
My mom bought few things for my small business (bakeshop), sadly one thing is missing and we ran out of funds 😢 badly need an oven (secondhand oven is a wonderful blessing). I'm a chef and baker. I need someone to fund my oven and some little money for groceries. I promise I won't let you down ❤💯 I just want to help my mom, she's working overseas and sick. I just want to feel her hugs and kisses before something bad happens to her. 😔
Hey Susan! Ah, I'm so glad you enjoyed these tips. Yes, I've learned that mindset plays one of the biggest roles! Let me know if you have any questions! You can connect with me on Instagram @justbakecause :)
I’m probably planning on starting a baking business with my parents so this video is actually a big help since we’re starting from ground zero (no knowledge besides financial) up
I'm a hobby baker and i just started an instagram page for my home bakery but am receiving very little support in advertising from friends and families, which makes me a little demotivated. i REALLY wanted to make this a business, but i feel like its hard to get exposure. I literally have ZERO dm for orders. :( Your tip number 3 really helps getting me more hopeful tho!! THANK YOU and i'll keep trying~
Thank you! I'm 16 (and french) and in September I'm going to try to develop a little buiseness by making birthday cakes for my friends and their friends, family ect... I hope it's going to work and you really gave me hope to start a carrier in the pastry world!
I just love you! Actually every tip on this video Blessed me as well as confirmed things for me. Continue being a Blessing Sis! Happy Blessed New Year!💕
wow the tips you gave me was what i needed to hear! I had a small business of banana bread and I was known for just it, but I hold this little business all by myself and instead of jumping to business I failed it :( all of this you just said was perfect enough to inspire me and open it again :))) Thaaanksss
Hi Ana! Specializing in banana bread seems like an amazing idea! I'm cheering you on. Feel free to update me on your journey on Instagram @justbakecause :)
Thanks a for posting. I'm looking for all of the tips I could find. I bake bread in my spare time and hearing this was helpful. I think the mindset and perfection of one recipie at a time were my favorite tips.
The first tip was so helpful. I am starting a vegan bakery in an area with a higher need than people realize, but nothing like it. So, naturally I want to offer EVERYTHING, but yes, I should start small with cakes and cookies. Perhaps I will offer specialty items seasonally.
LOVE this so much Sara! Yes, focus on one thing and perfect it/be known for it! You can always pivot and transition. Keep me updated on your journey, I'm so excited for you!
thank you for the tips! ill remember it. im thinking to start a small business of home bake pizzas and bake stuffs related with pizza dough. currently around my area the closest pizza delivery is 2km+ far. and i thought the business gonna rely on preorder batch before delivery so itll be more cost efficient
Not many people give the first tip, it's simple but easy to forget so thank you for mentioning it, that one was my favorite :) loved your video, you should have more subscribers!
Hi Mildred - I'm so glad you loved that tip! Please keep me updated on your journey! Cheering you on. You can always connect with me on Instagram @justbakecause :)
Of course thanks for your video, but I was waiting for licenses part. What about licenses? I read an official website but didn't get how much permits should I get to make homemade cakes.
Hey, im the one boring at one thing, i like to make cookies cake but im becoming confuse about which item should i learn and sell...cuz i keep aking them and now i even want to sell bread
Thanks really, fast, genuine and good information. Have a Q about if you have to attend courses or school to do a bakery-career? Seems like you attended courses or did you attend some education? It says you can study aside an experienced and go to around 2-2.5 years. The last one seems to be alot. If I would go I think I know what is the best that is to go beside a company and see, feel and try and also aside study theoretic. Here in EU is like if you pay a course you can do it within some months but when you study for free it takes 1.5 - 2 years generally of any education. Do you have any tip on books to start up with?
Do you have any tips on the legal side of starting a bakery business? Or programs you use for keeping organized with all your customers? I did a "taste tester" of my quiches and I have reorders on mu second week! 100% positive reviews. I am an unemployed music entertainer that always loved cooking for my family. Now my community wants my homemade foods! This lit the spark inside me, that dimmed and I have missed this excitement...since the closure of venues. Now I am thinking I need to pursue this! I am watching your videos and learning a lot. Thank you!
@@janellemusson7500 Love hearing this Janelle! So excited for you. For legal advice, I definitely recommend checking out score.org - they provide free mentorship across the states (not sure where you're located).
How do you sell your products? Do you sell them virtually or In person? I want to start a business but I don’t know how to sell them virtually. And if I want to sell them in person I don’t know where to sell them or when to sell them. And if i made a stand I don’t know where to put it.
Hi Hava! It's really up to you, but if you're just starting out, I'd recommend choosing one thing to focus on - especially if you're doing this by yourself without a team.
I have a question about your second tip, regarding tracking time and money, and how this will help figure out a price point for the item. Pricing ingredients and such seems straightforward enough, but how do you price your time? Thanks!
You are legend of cake industry and my self khadija ...I will ask one question it's important to use unsalted butter in cream because in India people don't love unsalted butter..... And I use salted butter sister... Tell me
You can definitely use salted butter! When you use unsalted, you can adjust the amount of salt you add in, so you can try using unsalted and adding in the salt yourself
Hi Juna! I find working and collaborating with local vendors helps a lot. When you partner with them, you're building up your team of referrals and word of mouth is so powerful. Instagram helps a lot too! You can use local hashtags for local clients to find you, and you can even host pop up events at nearby coffee shops, floral shops, etc.
I run my home bakery business in India and soon i m planning to shift canada. Doea i need any specific certificate to again start my home bakery. Or i can initiate it normally i.e. with any certificate or liscence????
I am 15 and I want to start a macarons business. However I do have one question. Do home bakers need a license or permit to be able to sell their goods? (Ex: Facebook, insta, etc.) Thanks in advance!
Hey Edward! That's so amazing! Super excited for you. If you are selling to the public and want to start a business, a license/seller's permit will be needed as well as the proper certifications for your home kitchen.
The first tip helped me soooooooo much! I'm 12 and I'm starting a bakery with my dad.... I'm excited! I'm about to make a website for it too! It's called b.a.K.e, so in a few weeks when I'm finally put together, you should check me out pls!
I love this so much!! I started baking when I was 11, so your story makes me happy :) Feel free to message me on Instagram @Justbakecause. Would love to see your journey!
Hi Meagan! Yes you will need a license and seller's permit! If you are in the states, I definitely recommend checking out score.org - they have free mentorship and can help with legal advice.
