Hey! I have a 5 months old golden puppy and he don't resource guarding his food/toys/bone but when he get something he is not suppose to have like paper towels he can growl or try to bite. I taught him a leave it command with is toy but don't always want to.

Thanks for submitting your question and commenting! I appreciate it. 1) is he growling/biting when you approach to take it out or only when you're actively taking the paper towels, etc out of his mouth? 2) Technically, this is still resource guarding. It would fall under the 'resource guarding objects' category.

@@getacalmdog thanks for the reply. He start to growl when I try to take it and he also still puppy biting he get bored of his toy and bone fast and start to chew chair and stuff and I say him no firm and show him what he can chew and start to bite and bark at me instead and if I take him by the collar to try to calm him down he still try to bite me and don't want to calm down. I have try a lots of things I see online to stop the puppy biting and nothing seem to work I see some trainer do a Tsss noise and a gentle touch but this just make him mad. the only way I can make him stop bad behavior is to put him in a timeout. But he also a good boy 75% of the time lol..

@@tastyterpenes8539 hey! thank you for this thorough answer. That helps me give you feedback. 1) Have you seen this video yet: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EtnCtHrdqws.html The second half of the video is a tutorial (steps 1 & 2) on puppies biting. 2) I also recommend starting to teach 'leave it' ASAP. Here is a link to an OLD tutorial I did on Leave It; however, I'll be releasing a much better and updated tutorial in the coming weeks. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-af07em5Z43Q.html 3) Finally - and perhaps most helpfully - in about 4-6 weeks I'll be starting a FREE Puppy Class for anyone in the world. So if that's something you might be interested in joining when I officially announce it, you'll want to subscribe to my email newsletter and/or follow me on Instagram so that you can get those announcements.
