When I began teaching my son to drive, about 18 months ago, after he'd completed his 'A Levels', I never expected that getting a test arranged would be the most difficult part of the whole process. Back in July '23 we managed to get a test for 12 Jan '24 at Bletchley. Guess what? On Jan 11 Betchley cancelled the test and moved it to the middle of Feb - when my son will be 500 miles away at Uni. I'm thankful that he does not need the licence for, say, a job but just how short of examiners is Bletchley test centre?
Sorry! It actually got cancelled an hour beforehand because my instructor was ill. They rebooked me a week later, I just talked during the entire test and said what I was doing for everything and I passed with 2 minors!@@xa-xii1316
Unfortunately I failed my test today. I made 1 serious fault and 3 minors. The serious fault was for stopping in a yellow box junction when moving straight on at the lights. I failed to notice the traffic had stopped moving and came to stop in the junction. I thought I might’ve got away with it as traffic cleared shortly after but I didn’t. I wasn’t happy with my examiners conduct through the test, however. He got me to perform an emergency stop with two cars following relatively close behind, forcing them to also slam their brakes. He also told me to ‘hurry up, I said “Reverse two car lengths”’ on my manoeuvre. I was going quite slow to maintain good observations but he was more concerned with rushing me to finish. I truly hope I do not get the same examiner. Sorry for the little rant, I am still quite emotional and feeling very disappointed in myself for not anticipating the junction better!
Hey sir , you have helped thousands of people with your vids and i have a question , do you have any links or advice of how to drive in and out of supermarkets or gas stations , sometimes i get confused and when the markings are unclear i went the wrong side coming out . I have passed my test but don't have a car yet and its a spot im uncomfortable with Thanks James 👍
Thanks. Yes I have playlists for newly qualified drivers. On the playlists I cover entering and exiting car parks and I have videos also in those playlists for petrol stations. I hope they help.
