Regeneration is the process in which a diesel engine sends fuel into the exhaust to super heat and essentially bake the soot away and reduce nox via the doc
If you get caught deleted around me, if your lucky you get a warning and 1 week to put the system back to factory, or if you have a moody vop you can get up to 40k in fimes
🤔I thought idling the truck is what got it in regeneration mode in the 1st place. I'm so tired of the up-and-down roller coaster of having A diesel truck, I'm about 2 seconds from selling it or trading it in towards a gasoline truck. way less headache, just get in and go.
@@LSRWvlog My 1st temperature gauge takes forever to reach the same pressure as the transmission one. I notice when it finally gets up the temperature that's when most of the smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Is this a normal function, or should I take it to the shop? Also I recently got both thermostats replaced when I 1st purchased the truck. It just seems to be running on the cooler side of the spectrum all the time.
The transmission usually warms up faster then the coolant, that's normal. But if your at temp and blowing smoke out of the tail pipe in non Regen, that can be an issue. If it's blue, burning oil, white, burning coolant, black, diesel and could be a cracked dpf.
I am currently going to get rid off the dpf cause its always inconvenient when your going somewhere in a hurry and it kicks into regen mode then by time you get to your destination if its not done then your force to turn it off mid regen cycle. Then once you turn it back on and drive it, it will go again in regen mode. Also when in regen mode your suppose to run the truck bewteen 40 mph- 45 mph for it to fully finish the regen cycle for 40 min.
SELL IT ! I tried everything and spent over 18,000 in repairs , That motor is pure JUNK save yourself some money and get rid of it while it 's running. Check your oil see if it's real thin , if so you have diesel in the oil . SEll it
Mine seems to be permanently stuck on I drive from Round Rock to Austin, it's at least a 30 to 40-minute drive averaging 65 to 75 miles an hour. Any ideas why mine has not shut off in the last five thousand miles?
2008 6.4 is the biggest piece of junk ford made. the engine is good for about. 100,000 miles after that watch your fuel will start getting fuel in the oil pan. Best thing to do is get a ford dealer to run a OASIS report to see it's under warranty. Ford placed a warranty on these trucks to prevent a recall. So, if you've bought a used 2008 ford 6.4 get the Oasis report to see if the motor has already been changed or not. It saved me $10,000 dollars for a new engine. But I drive it 700 miles and the transmission went into wheel drive while I was doing 70 MPH on the Hwy.
