Today is a short and simple guide based around modular vehicles. I thought I would bring you a new one, as I felt the older one may be a little out of date now since the new update.

Thanks for another great how-to, lovely job as always and thank you for your time spent making it 💜💜. I am gonna be a bit of a detractor on this change to vehicles, I dislike it, it breaks realism for me. I can't just go out to my car and fix it without tools or know-how, really wish I could lol. Maybe it needs to be linked to driving skill instead... or survival skill but you need a manual that could be found in the glovebox or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Personal knowledge I could design (and with a lot of muscle help) build a decent home, would not have a clue with a vehicle without a manual (and again muscle help). Dad was a joiner and avid DIYer and I learnt from a young age, gave us great joy working on stuff when we were both capable (I still can't figure out why we took down a wall, redecorated and laid a new carpet one Christmas eve but we did )

yeah I feel they should've left it at a medium engineering for certain things, like a battery is fine but removing an alternator should be a medium skill to do. Also if they add books to help with certain stats, like engineering, medical, demolition. Reading them will give you X amount of Xp and takes a set time to read it. then you would get the muscle memory of making items like with the cooking.

IMO if they want players to have knowledge to repair vehicles they should add mechanic skill. I used to ask my son what does cutting a few boards then filling in a blueprint have to do with fixing a car. I remember Luthais asking for things like being able to read books to level up some of the skills. I also play No One Survived. That game does have the ability to level up reading books. You have to be at a minimum mood before you can read the books. You can also level up by doing related activities.

Yeah there’s already so much in scum with levelling but books and gaining bonus xp would be good, or for learning how to do certain things.

@@theurbanhermit365 I agree. I would also like to see exercise equipment to level str. It would also help keep my con up after driving around looting for an extended period of time. Currently I use the wheelbarrow loaded with logs before shutting the game down to get my con back to 5. It tends to drop to 4.9 when I've been out looting for a while. So far I haven't done it afk. I've sat at the keyboard holding the keys down the entire time.

The car jack is also needed to install/remove the battery. Any underhood work actually. Car needs to be in service mode for this. 😉

@@theurbanhermit365 You're right. 🙂 I just tested it real quick. I was building my Laica just the other day and it wasn't let me install the battery, just showed me the usual 'nudge, push, roll'. So I was looking for a jack, put it in service mode and I could put it in. But it seems I haven't just been able to find the sweet spot. It was a bit fiddly few minutes ago, but it worked! 😊 Thx!
