I’m sorry to hear this. I truly hope he has a change of heart or is at least open to learning how to be a good support for you. Mental illness is very real and highly misunderstood because it’s unseen in the physical

I appreciate this video. My wife recently had episodes of mild anxiety/depression maybe because of this CoronaVirus. She panics easily and get nauseated. She is the last person i would suspect would experience things like these. She is type A too, outgoing, humorous, and practical. She got better now and I pray that she continues to progress to complete healing.
I love what he said about how all the stuff that's there to encourage is so prominent (especially in the church) how it's so important to look at the physical the mental the emotions. We are in physical bodies still after all. Feelings are real whether we try to bottle them up by pushing them down or fluffing the up with positivity. That's where we find truth and true work towards healing
There is a a lot of wisdom needed to not just repress things too. It's like you said, you can fluff things up w/ positivity, and that can do more damage in the long run. It's more surface, like you said, fluff, fluffing, and doesn't address deep and serious issues.
I am new to all this, and I could really use some advice. If my wife is battling anxiety and depression, and she wants to call in sick from work, and stay in bed all day, should I support her in this, or am I enabling her by doing so?
Pride!!! They believe bc they know the Bible that they have ALL the answers. So they look at people who struggle with anxiety or any mental health as sinners and “devilish”. It’s so depressing in some of these churches.
He probably is a source of her depression. Domineering husbands are skilled at using words to deflect from their role in the problem Maybe she doesn’t speak English idk but I’ve been on the side of my husband talking for me about what I’m going through and it is more behind it. The thing is that he makes sense but why couldn’t she speak on what is bothering her?
