I’m 24 hours after surgery now watching this, pain is minimal but then it’s hard to describe pain. Mine was left side and seems on notes after it said inguinal hernia then ( hospital problem indirect inguinoscrotal hernia which im not sure were on my notes going in but my hernia had been into my scrotum and then spreading up to top of my hip bone. My left testicle does feel like it’s still in there but I think that’s just the feeling of swelling and blood you talk about. Great vlog so far as I’m based on Northern Ireland so good to get some knowledge that’s uk based and around similar age and body shape, 42 and a plasterer by trade so I’ll keep following your journey for tips and tricks. Definitely going to get the cacao powder as no number 2’s yet but feel it’s coming and worried is I do have to push as we both know the feeling of the pressure passing stool living with one! Thanks again as I live alone myself too. Good that I have had a friend put me up for the night after and as long as I need to I might take him up for another nights stay just to get back on my feet properly

@@Expresshonestly exactly 2 weeks to the day of recovery. Back playing snooker, from yesterday which is good to keep me occupied. I’m able to sneeze with no issues at all.. the scar is long but barely noticeable and still a bit raised either side of it! I feel brand new after it but I haven’t attempted to lift anything of significance as there is that internal feeling that you know it’s just not quite back to 100% How are you doing now… You must be a month on?
@@EO-zu5uz I'm at this point how are you. I feel a different person a new lease of life day 16 now from open hernia repair everything works fine in the lower department. Defo not lifting too much. Lifted a car battery to see if I could do it and it feels like it pulls so I leave that. Or carry a bag of dog food and everything seems fine but not over doing it. Did you manage to get some strength back. I do carp fishing and carry about 20kg 25kg of weight.
@@ashleybishton742 hello yes it’s been 7 months now for me but unfortunately I had a major fall in work and smashed mostly every single bone in my hand and wrist so was under the knife in late May and September for a full reconstruction which has been awful.. I’m only now able to actually start using it to lift the lightest of things but that’s another story.. Regarding the Hernia I don’t even think about it anymore… I was back lifting full weight after 6-8 weeks and absolutely no issues whatsoever this far out so don’t be worrying about getting back to full activity or using it.. I walked everywhere straight after it which is encouraged to help the healing as I think if you don’t it will seize up.. the first week is pretty annoying swinging your legs in and out of bed and I did buy a small bamboo memory foam pillow to press against it in between my legs anytime I was getting up or on a car journey so I’d suggest getting something similar as it’s a great comforter to press on when having to tense your stomach and leg muscle to move! I’d say by the other side of Xmas you’ll be the same as me and it’ll be out of your head and forget it ever happened! I’m so glad I had the operation and everything looks normal down there and in full working order! Any questions just ask away is I was totally in the dark about recovery at the time too!
@@EO-zu5uz same goes for you for recovery for your hand hope you get back to doing what you enjoy doing in swift possible time..yeah I feel it's getting better day by bay sometimes I'm more confident than others it's Defo been a journey for me. Adapting and making changes then reverting back then going forward again. I Defo feel it healing now much better. Now we're like 20 days in. Defo going to keep walking harder and increasing my loads it feels much stronger 💪💪 now.
