What to expect for the TRANSFORMERS collab in Overwatch 2!

Overall, I wasn’t fully sold on season 11 of Overwatch 2. Sure, it definitely has some selling points, but it felt a little light until Blizzard teased a Transformers collab for season 11 of Overwatch 2.
Optimus Prime is coming to Overwatch 2. And I don’t think he is coming by himself. But what can we expect exactly from this event? When is it starting? What content, which cosmetics, how expensive will they be, and is there going to be a game mode tied into this?
These are all very valid questions that I’m going to try and answer. Let's have a look!

For the Transformers collabs they should make Bastion = Shockwave Echo = Starscream Ramattra = Megatron (he transforms so they could have the classic transformation sound) Rein = Optimus Prime (when he charges he could say “Autobots…….ROLL OUT!” DVA = Bumble Bee Winston = Optimus Primal (Optimus was a Gorilla in Beast Wars) Wrecking Ball = Unicron

1 eye, a cannon instead of the arm, a tank mode with a big cannon... bastion is literally Shockwave. (maybe Megatron also at the limite, but Shockwave is more appropriate)

Transformers Armada had the addition of Mini Cons that were equipped by the bots and were additional weapons or upgrades to their gear. Maybe we can see some mini con weapon skins like the spike hammer rod for Ram, sky boom shield for brig, or the star saber for genji.

As someone who also grew up watching the old Transformers shows, including the beast wars series... As much as I would want them to give us Optimus Primal Winton, it makes more sense to go with what people will know. I don't think younger kids will even know that much about Transformers Beast Wars tbh. I pretty much agree with all your choices and who I would have gone with too, I hope they go with Echo and not Pharah... I hate Pharah 😂

If they did do a crossover game mode what I could imagine is some of these possibilities Possibility 1: Payload match based on cybertron. The payload is a crate full of energon that you're trying to transfer to the ark and leave cybertron with. Possibility 2: this time on earth either transporting energon to the ark or just overall an ark capture the flag map

Mauga would make an awesome Hound, Given the cannon/tank Bastion should imo be classic Galvatron with some voicelines saying something like "dont let my smaller form fool you", Rein should be Grimlock, while Ramattra should be Optimus, Maybe tracer as Rc?, I like Lucio as Jazz BUT it could be pretty baller for him to be Bee given how the radio snippets could also work with his beats and maybe Hammond could be unicron given how unicron travels around like a planet (or ball) most of the time.

I don’t know why nobody else is saying this, but I feel like Bastian would be PERFECT as Shockwave. In most iterations shockwave transforms into a canon/gun which is already perfect, and Bastian has a similar design with the bigger protruding chest and singular cyclops eye. Also, this would make more sense for Soundwave, but they could also turn his bird into Laserbeak, which would just be fun.

Honestly, as a big fan of multiple transformers continuities (especially 2007's Transformers Animated) I would love to see the skins reference Transformers beyond G1. And I could see Hasbro throwing in some more modern designs and references to promote their more modern transformers shows and toylines.

I would like to see a Soundwave or Shockwave skin although I cant really figure out who would be a good fit for them, Shockwave might work really well as Zarya, Soundwave maybe as Hog? Im mostly going by the Transformers Prime versions.

I think there should be six skins, 3 autobots and 3 decepticons. Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave. Obviously Optimus as Rein, Megatron as Ramattra, Starscream as Echo, and Arcee as Tracer. Bee and Soundwave I am not so sure who they could go over Bee could be Bastion or maybe some one a bit more nimble and Soundwave I am not so sure but maybe Soldier 76 or Reaper but idk about these two.

I think they would be best off doing 6 skins, 3 autobot and 3 decepticon then the event game mode can be a 3v3 elimination arcade mode that won’t take away from summer games and Peter Cullen can be the announcer for autobot team instead of Athena and the Roadhog actor can voice megatron as the decepticon announcer instead of Athena

If they do the transformation highlight intros, they’d have to tie it to the skin like they do with mythics, so it’s likely that we don’t get them.

Bastion would make a solid looking Megatron since Megatron has the tank mode. Or Galvatron for the cannon mode. Alternately I would love him as Soundwave and make Ganymede Laserbeak. Sadly these are unlikely because Bastion is "good" and the characters are Decepticons.

theres a lot of possibilities. Winston Primal is a no brainer, Junkrat - Rattrap (demolitions expert loud mouth), Mauga - Rhinox, Widowmaker - Blackarachnia, Ramattra - Megatron, Lucio - Cheetor. And for classics, Rein or Soldier -Prime, Tracer - Arcee, Torbjorn - Ironhide, Lucio - Jazz/Bee, Bastion - Megatron (tank mode), and Wrecking Ball - Unicron)

Best case scenario: Optimus Prime skin with Peter Cullen voicework, other G1/ Bayverse skins with detail Mid case scenario: Skins going for 'Cosplay' feel, characters dressed-up as Transformers characters Worst case scenario: 'Transformers: One' promotion, based off of new film coming out Also Jazz for Lucio is an absolute shout, could even take some artistic liberties and make his skates wheels

I think, Rein = Optimus is a great choice, soldier is also good but rein fits better Bastion = Bumblebee would be cute but his design fits shockwave even more Ram = Easy megatron pick Pharah = Starscream is ok so we can go with that Bap = Ratchet really good pick would wanna see that But if we do get beast wars skins (hopefully) Winston as primal and Echo as airazor are good picks in my opinion. Soundwave is my favorite but im not sure who'll he pair up with.

How about Optimus Prime Reinhardt, Optimus Primal Winston, Hound Roadhog, Arcee Tracer, Ratchet Baptiste, Megatron Bastion (arm gun and tank mode for well), Jazz Lucio. Just some ideas I think would be cool but obviously probably won’t happen.
