You hit the points but missed the ( DOT ) numbers on the tire. Learn to read theses tires and when they were made. Scientists say that a tire has a maximum life of 10 years much like a condom that loses it's strength.. If the ( DOT ) date shows that the tire is made 8 years and 5 months ago then you should look for a tire under 5 years of age. Go on the net to learn how to read the manufactured date of the tire that is stamped on the side. You don't want to pick up a 25 year old girl at the pub and find out that she is 75 when you get her in the good light.....LOL

Check the wear indicator, if they've been regrooved they will be gone. Also check the 4 digit code after the dot code (wwyy) I've seen people trying to sell tires from 2004 online.... extremely dangerous. I never buy a used tire more than 2-3 years old.
