So was Homer imitating something from TV? I always felt he was probably imitating some American TV show...

I Have seen that episode hundreds of times, and it wasn't until yesterday, February 19th 2021 that I even noticed it. This is why I continue to watch seasons 1-9. after all these years I still not only laugh at loud but I still enjoy new jokes that my conscious mind had missed!
