Hey everyone, today we’re asking the question of what was DbD’s best meta? This was a question I wanted to ask, because to me, the worst meta is pretty clear, but when I try to think of the best meta… I kind of came up with nothing. I asked some of you too, and the answer was always pretty vague or there was no clear point or meta that was considered good or healthy.

I think the root of dbd’s gameplay problems is the fact that there’s only one objective We won’t have all these back and forths and constant slowdown metas if there was a second objective. Like if one and a half total gen progress across all gens are done then all gens shut down and can’t be repaired and then you gotta find some breaker boxes that neither side knows where it is, and make gens 60 seconds again so killers dont dominate

It seems like the idea of changing the meta regularly is what the devs plan to do in the future. They announced with the Year 7 roadmap that they wanted to start doing a perk overhaul every mid chapter release

Hearing a buff to repressed alliance and blast mine, now makes me kinda wanna see a survivor gen defender meta. I can already see pain for killers, I would probably hate it but it sounds like fun compared to what's happening now

If the gens didn't fly so quick id happily see it. Slow down gen rush but make defending them important for survivors. Perks like pain res and jolt will see more use killer wise so would make constant chase better. But if they use gen kick perks which are more effective then they run risk of gen defence perks.

@@Ytuser12382 I checked the wiki, 66% of a gen, 45 seconds for a killer to kick the gen. It always had a timer, you just got it back and you could apply it to another gen when the time ran out.

Ruin undying essentially created a chase based meta however. And many do believe that was the best meta. Ruin Undying felt more fast paced, and felt like things were not just go to gen, W key from killer, watch gen get kicked, repeat. It was genuinely fun, as when you got caught your objective was to get a good chase, and for a killer they were CONSTANTLY moving from chase to chase, camping gens wasn't common as if you did you'd lose your hex perks. During that time survs were also still very strong at the same time. In this version of ruin I am specifically talking about the 150% ruin, not the 200%.

Looking back, I really liked the counter-meta for survivors. I thought about it earlier too, due to a forum poster complaining about the old meta of every survivor having DH, DS, UB and BT. While it was boring in terms of pick variety, the meta did slow down *both sides*. Camping and tunnelling were riskier and slower strategies because DS could actually set you back. Slugging was a risk because UB could turn it around. BT helped somewhat against campers. But conversely, survivors only had DH for chases, and nothing to speed up gens. The rest of their perks would basically serve no purpose if the killer wasn't camping, tunnelling or slugging. This meant killers had more breathing room, but so did survivors. Games were slower. I used to bring in a dumpster diver build for fun during those times, bringing Plunderer's, Appraisal, Ace in the Hole and either Streetwise or Built to Last. I used to do dull totems back then. Nowadays though, with anti-tunnel being nerfed, and regression being as strong as it is, any wasted time is an immediate loss for survivors, so I stick much more tightly to more efficient builds and playstyles. And though I'm not noticing it much in my own games, many killer players are voicing their complaints over gens going too fast, pushing them into more optimised play. I do think killers have it better under this meta, but neither side is really having fun. I really think that a lot of genrush components should be nerfed or changed, like having toolboxes and particularly the BNP be changed to not increase gen speeds, but build up a sort of regression block, where a gen cannot regress past a certain point. Hyperfocus and Overzealous should probably just be reworked altogether. But on the flipside, BHVR does need to bite the bullet and address camping and tunnelling so that survivors aren't left wondering if their first hook is also going to be the end of their run in the trial. And they need to happen simultaneously, because I don't want another 'we'll totally stop camping/tunnelling if killers get buffed' scenario like with 6.1.

Unfortunately the only way to achieve this "non meta" is rebalancing all perks every month. Players are adapting very fast and create disgusting builds in a matter of days. Not only would this rebalancing be a lot of work for bhvr, it would also make dbd buggier than ever

thats why i sometimes think the game wouldve been better off without perks honestly. Yes that would mean some of the 6.0.1 basekit changes would need to reverted back like the 10 seconds added or the shorter duration in some actions, while others could gladly stay (basekit bt after unhook for example.) and then have it like VHS where you maybe need to gather parts or have some additional gamemodes to keep it fresh.

Also that isn't the best way to go about this, the meta is due to the core design of DBD, Eruption genuinely isn't that bad of a perk, when comms are in play. All it does is show off how not giving survivors comms is dumb in DBDs current state. I always try to find ways to indirectly nerf things before directly nerfing them

@@Oxygen1004 honestly the only thing they would need to do with eruption is getting rid of hindred and just block said gen for a short duration so they cant jump back on it immediatly. But i have a feeling its gonna be more than that.

That would just make the fast killers faster and the slow killers more Average, any perks you introduce can be used by every killer. So unless you want lightspeed Weskers, Blights, and Legions I disagree

I think the shrine of secrets idea is very genius xD I try myself different Playstyles and builds every single day and i dont like to bring gen regression, but i feel how i lose more often because of this. But i like it this way. And i play as survivor everytime a build with at least one of the personal perks of the survior i play, to make them feel more unique ^^

I don't like the idea of basekit Unbreakable. By adding 100% recovery speed to compensate for it's current effect, it's basically going to become the new must-have perk like old BT. Leading to less perk variety, which was a goal of the overhaul. They should just make Cypress Memento Mori into an optional basekit. Also, what about buffing the other 75% of perks that are non-existent? The metas needed attention, yes, but they're only about a quarter of the perks used for both sides. We'll have to wait and see I suppose.

I think basekit Unbreakable is actually a great idea, just make it slower than normal Unbreakable. Getting slugged is one of the few parts of the game, where you as survivor can't do anything and you are literally being held hostage. A slower basekit Unbreakable wouldn't hit situations where slugging makes sense (ie: Plague with Corrupt Purge and multiple close survivors), but it would stop the killer from not hooking you and searching for the physical 4K on 3 gens to go.

I love the shrine of secrets idea. It's absolutely brilliant because it'll let players decide if the perk changes are good or not, instead of BHVR. And a shorter timespan of changes would lower the over dependence on a "merta".

I'd like to see a system where every week 4-10 perks offer an xp/bloodpoint boost for being used. It's incentive for the new and/or average player to use them, while at least giving a suggestion to advanced players as to what to use for a bit. This wouldn't change the meta, but would at least increase the variety of perks being used.

This sounds awesome tbh. I've seen some people suggest that bhvr make it so certain perks cycle between being blocked off/unplayable to encourage different builds. I wish something like this could be implemented

@@scurbbb I think the issue with that is so much content is paid for, that players would get super frustrated if they couldn't use it. I'm not against that myself but I think a system that rewards rather than restricts is more likely to be put to use.

making a weekly perk buff was the best idea I heard !!!! i love when new perks are used or used in a different way, even if tits against me. btw my favorite "meta" was the 3 days after Elodie dropped, when every one was trying to make power struggle work, then everyone realized it is not that good lol

As a primarily solo queue player, I don't actually have a favourite meta. I shift from build to build depending on what I feel like playing from game to game.

once thing which could help is alternative gamemodes, like a more hide and seek orientated where there is no gen regression at all but it takes longer time to do them, survivors don't have exhaustion perks, killers got extra moment speed, maps being darker, more grass and just in general shorter chases when they happen but more time in between them.

I honestly think the best suggestion was the shrine bonus one. It give ppl incentive to use a variety of perks and if the wanted they could buff nerd or get experimental with the shrine perks to test stuff out before beta

I feel like the healthiest thing they could do for the game is making most perks roughly equal. Don’t make them overly strong or overly weak but don’t constantly produce perks that are so exhaustingly weak, especially those perks that are just weaker versions of a perk that already exists.

It might be weird, but I really got into dbd when stranger things was announced and I miss the meta from that timeframe. Pre-rework ruin, BP BBQ, demogorgon and Ghostface, later followed by oni and Deathslinger. That was probably the best time to join dbd because they put a lot of meta perks in the shrine right before stranger things dlc dropped, so I didn’t have to buy Bubba or hag. I only had to run ruin for gen regression because it was that strong.

I think for a chase meta, it'd be really fun if perks like mettle of man were meta. It's a perk that to get value means you're doing other things than gens. You're trying to stop someone being hooked or you're trying to stop someone going down in chase. A lot of tournaments I watch have had someone running mettle of man and being the dedicated hit taker but it's the one role you never see anyone play in public games, you've got your tank chase players and you get your gen jockeys but no supporting roles.

The reason why a chase meta doesn't work is, because a good meta for survivors means it's a nightmare for killers and a good meta for killers means it's a nightmare for survivors.

@@alexwittig2760 I disagree, I think there's a potential to balance it well where if a protection hit meta came up, this would give natural slowdown to killers (only 2 people on gens while 2 people aren't) which would inherently extend game lengths, have more people in chases, reduce tunnelling and add the strategy of taking a hit at the right time. Would also mean perks like quick gambit could work. A chase meta doesn't necessarily mean that chases have to be longer or shorter than they are, it could literally just be that killers chasing becomes stronger and protection hits do too. Meaning those chase perks become inherent slowdown perks and more survivors get to be in chases instead of sitting on gens

@@Deathrocket1000 Tbh if that was the case, I would chase even less. Why would I chase and hit someone who can take a free protection hit, when I can disturb the people working on gens instead. And if you buff the killers chase and make protection hits absolutely necessary to get long chases, you will break the game, because that requires tons of coordination, which is simply impossible for SoloQ.

I prefer a variety meta where both sides have a bunch of good perks to choose from. My favorite perk builds for survivor back in the day were balanced landing, iron will, resilience and spine chill or balanced landing, iron will, unbreakable and bond.

I for one would like to see alternative game play or objectives. Some like what was done in the last Halloween Event, where we gathered void energy. In this case, we would gain "entity favors" which could be a progress bar, obtained by badge / blood points objectives. Every time the bar goes to 100% a favor is gained. Just like void energy, there may be a limit we can carry, before we "worship" the entity. However, every favor gained, makes the next one take more energy. This idea of entity favors may work as a secondary objective, and it may benefit from luck, with a chance to get extra favors; and any burst that also gives you blood points. Entity favors may be used for a variety of things that would change the game in some way. Such as a permanent removal of hooks or generators, or spawning new ones; spawning or closing the hatch or blocking/unblocking some one exit gate; summoning a treasure chest with rare items, or get new add-ons for killers; spawning new totems, or reseting perks that would normally be used once per game. I don't know, the idea is give something to work for, and give interesting results to use. The meta may turn around grinding this favor, and what favors are the most effective ones. Yet, since the favors could be lost, there would be a limit, and you to offer it; it wouldn't be an instant thing. Rather, something different to contribute, that could make players win in a different way.

My fav meta in the game was prolly ruin pop (at least in comparison to the cob eruption we got now) cuz ruin could just be dealt with via cleansing and pop actually needed u to do smth in order to get it, while today, COB and eruption are just nearly free at any time. But the shrine idea defo sounds interesting :)

the devs actually said they want to shift the meta more regularly.. Also i would love to see more regular balance changes because rn with the progression visible on gens killer does feel awful to play (again). My most favorite time was also shortly after the 6.0.1 i was hopeful it would keep going in an direction of health but now it seems reverted again. And im not saying this because killer buffs only. But they actually did add 10 seconds to gens because they were going to fast, only to bring in gen speed buffers with vittorios perks and gut some more gen regression perks (thanatophobia). And now they want to buff soloQ wich is absolutly fine to me. But the progression visible is such an overkill now it feels like i can only run these perks and nothing else: Eruption, franklins, CoB, corrupt, pain res. lightborn, jolt, overcharge, lethal pursuer. I can decide between going for gen kicks or dont, according to which killer im playing. Its stagnant and it is worse now because added to that i have to camp and tunnel in order to not get completely genrushed. And i dont even want to think about basekit UB which is waiting in the future probably.

1:08 at the end of the day there are only two ways the killer meta can go, Chase (Kill speed, tunnelling falls into this too) or Slowdown and for survivors it's Gen speed and Survival. like you said Nurse has the best chase so it allows her to have both, usually the weaker the killers chase the more they need slowdown and the reason why survivors use 2nd chances constantly is because, well more time surviving makes games easier to win so it gives both at the same time

I feel if the devs added more variety to gameplay like additional types of skillchecks or objectives perks would become a lot less unfair because they’d have to be divided amongst more tasks. There’s only a handful of actions killers and survivors can do in game so the amount of differences in perks is limited. Once totems were added to the game look at how many new kinds of perks were added.

Thats exactly what ive thought when the gen kick and general regression perks on killer side got nerfed and the heals on survivor side, this is going to make gen rushing even stronger and the only viable option for survivors and anti heal or impossible skill check builds for killer and if they run anything beside that, they just loose, its basically going to be a race between who can deny heals and keep people injured and slug and who can rush gens the fastest

Dbd needs new game types, like a survival mode, survivor must stay alive as long as possible and killers must get as many hooks/sacrifices.

i think a buff-a-perk nerf-a-perk idea could be fun! they shake up the meta, if there is a problem perk, they nerf that and some other problem perks and buff some perks that don’t get much use to see what we could do with them!

i want to hear oppinions on this balance change spare parts now have the first charge only not the second so that if you miss the first one its now more of a well f, secondly this allso mean that fogwise and hyper focus wont get 2 (free) progs. and with change fogwise (my fav surv perk) might be more balanced same with hyper. my reason with this is that bnp is a really strong toolbox addon and i still want it to be that but with just the first charge it will still be great but not half a gen in 3 sec great (i know its not that fast when alone)

@@AlbertWesker-uk3uv Neither is reactive healing, the Meta stuff for survivors is Anti Hem Syringes, strong medkits, Commodius Toolboxes, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Prove Thyself, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, etc No Mither is not a good perk, also why would you run healing anything with No Mither where you are Broken the entire game?

Honestly dynamic objectives for each map would be nice. Gen speed has always been a issue but what if you needed to explore maps to find certain parts to do particular safe generators? Like the games balance always revolves around gen speed and it's super inconsistent because some survivors rush them and others sit afk when their teammates are in a chase near them. So why not fix the obvious issue instead of bandaid perks?

I believe the current frustration with the gen kick meta is that killers can drag out a match forever doing so as they can hold a 3 gen the entire game while hex ruin can be removed, and pop goes the weasel requires a hook and then kick. The current gen kick meta has no prerequisites

I feel like another way to change the meta would be to change killer speeds. Then you could give them positive and negative effects sort of like nurse and blight but on less extreme scales. It could be at least interesting and shake up the higher MMR players that are tired of nurses and blights

Talking about the idea of a "shifting" meta, and the ideas of counters: these already exist in the game. stuff like Calm Spirit vs Spies in the Shadows, Better than New potentially allowing a healer build to work against the constant deep wound of Legion, things like that. Unfortunately, the way the game is set up right now, there's only two instances that let people do that, and those are KILLER ONLY: they can see what people are carrying as the match loads. So they see a bunch of toolkits or medkits? they can Franklin's. They see flashlights? they can Lightborn. You can't have any attempts at a counter-effect meta without allowing both sides to see who they are up against. Of course, that would also reduce DCs, because everyone has killers they just don't want to go against, or get sick of seeing over and over, and allowing both sides to see each other would fix THAT by allowing them to leave before the match starts.

The biggest thing I agree with is the absolute hatred of Eruption's incapacitated effect I couldn't care less if it took half of the gen progress, revealed my aura for 20 seconds, and exposed me until I did 3 triple backflips in the basement (overly exaggerated example, but still) but forcing me to sit around and be unable to play for 20 seconds is just miserable. The perk is literally "You have to go in timeout for 20 seconds, you dont get to play" and it just sucks

There needs a be a second condition of powering the exit gate. I think a good balance change is that once 30 minutes have passed exit gates power on. If you have a leaver or two people dead its no longer becomes a hatch game. This also stop infinite eruption 3 gen ganes. Aura reading perks and stealth perks become a lot more powerful as stealth becomes a win con.

Em I think a chase based meta could work but it would mean making killer stronger, you'd have to buff off meta movement killers like demo or oni and bring them all to blight-nurse level strength so they can just focus on chase and don't need regression to play and then nerf regression to the point where its unoptimal and pure speed is the main goal

My favorite meta was when I could jump into a game with only Iron Will and still escape 7/10 games. This was the Undying/Ruin/Pop meta for killers

I dont mind regression or second chance perks. The issue are certain perks that can be abuse to a point where its just pure frustration to play against it. I don't mind eruption, but most killers who use it in the matches I play do nothing except patroling gens with occasional chases until they can actively take the game hostage with it. Sometimes they are able to hold the game hostage at 4 gens together with COB, because some spawns are really unlucky.. Yeah a good oriented team can easily avoid that, but me and the majority who play solo or in duo squads its almost impossible. Its also the issue of another perks not being so unavoidable. Pain resonance for example, because you can see the aura of the survivor when they are hooked. Eruption on the other hand is only avoidable if you have a clear line of sight or you are lucky and manage to guess right when a survivor gets downed. I also noticed that eruption users are very bad in chases. Before the whole eruption meta I was lucky if a chase took 60 seconds before i was downed and now i can make chases last for minutes and I'm pretty sure my skill didn't improved since the beginning of last year.

@@0kumurhuh to me its the worst killer ever added to the game never had a fun game playing against one. Only played him to get the achiefment and am refusing to play him again. Broken tentacle hitbox. Annoying infection gimic. Zombies that see you trough walls and guard 80% gens when you play against him, and get stuck when you play as him. Not fun in chases. Most camp or tunnel. Im at the point where i just dc when its him cus it just aint worth it. The only fun thing to do is try and hoard both zombies into the basement and keep them there as long as you can.

I also don't think it would be viable to do big changes really often for perks. Eruption was buffed in July and now its considered really strong at all until recently. The gen times are 90s but for basically the 1st 2 gens its really about 60s since toolboxes/spare parts, prove-thyself etc.

i think the best way to nerf eruption is to make that survivors affected by it has a slowdown in any activities such as gen progress, healing etc.

It would be fun if for example, every week you randomly (and different for all survivors) you have a very slight buff to nich perks. So in a way you´ll be encouraging survivors to play non-meta perks.

my problem with dead hard is purely due to ping, i play from SA and it fails to activate for me 90 percent of the time, and as killer iv had survs use it after i hit them to invalidate the hit

I will say that I think the nerf to resilience spine chill was unnecessary; it was a pretty niche build that wasnt amazing but allowed survivors to extend chases and encouraged something other than 2nd chance and exhaustion perks

I think the ruin undying meta was the best because you got rewarded as killer for chasing survivors and more importantly downing survivors. Since you didn’t have to worry about kicking gens it was just chase Survivors constantly to get your slowdown to work.

i feel the gen kicking meta lets sloppy killers win more games as all you need are the perks and a worked on gen, that said prolonging the game so that you can chase each of the survivors(sometimes you get a ninja) is healthy enough as everyone gets a turn with a chase. i tend to play killer more and i run the gen kicking perks as if its slipping on a glove(this is my first time playing the game but i play in gold not sure the mmr as you cant see it without datamining or asking someone to) so as someone fresh and does watch people play the game i naturally found the meta without someone pointing at the perks. but when i play as survivor i dont see the gen kicking meta builds(or i dont recognize the perks) so what im wondering is it a "high" mmr problem?

Eruption is just the killer version of Dead hard. Both could be completely countered by "Wait it out", but why should either side have to wait to keep doing their objective? Likewise, both give a huge boost to the other side when it works, leaving the victim of the perk left looking dumb for doing the one thing they are supposed to do. The only real difference is that Eruption requires you to actually do something (two things really, being kicking a gen AND then downing a surv), when Dead Hard is just a free moment of invulnerability for getting injured. It really just feels like survs hate being on the other side of this equation for once, while not even understanding this is the case.

Ultimately I feel that generator speed/regression perks are a large issue, as if one side has a lot of them and the other doesn't, it creates a lot of imbalance in the match. So my proposition is to cut down all of these perks by a large chunk, so that gen speed related perks is more like move speed changes, where a small change can make a difference, but doesn't DRASTICALLY impact the match. Thus you would not be caught out by a full gen build on the other side, nor would you be reQUIRED to bring these perks in case the other side did, or risk having a match that's so far out of your control. People like it when there isnt a META? Make the level of effectiveness smaller so the MOST efficient is Yes, the best, but not overwhelmingly. There should be a point where you can master a character to the point of not needing perks, items, and Addons to win, or at least perform well. Post 6.1.0 is when i felt i could play Shadowborn-only Demo in public lobbies and the results of the match were based on my mechanics vs the survivors, not our loadouts. I got almost exclusively positive feedback from survivors during that period, sometimes out of relief and sometimes because they just had a good time. I know other killers were taking FULL advantage of the buffs at that time, but I can only speak to my experience. So what made those matches end up being a positive, skill expressive period of gameplay? Simply put, gen related perks were not present in most, and the few that were there got mitigated by gen speeds being increased. Survivors were not yet conditioned to bring entire gen-related kits just to survive. (although this build popularity was brought on by the strength of the killer regression perks later on) It wasn't perfect, but people rarely felt that they were out-perked or the like. Thoughts on this? I know some of this is anecdotal but i would like to hear if others had this experience for a short while or not.

The og days of dbd when killers always had the old Ruin before the rework and pop while survivors had the dead hard and ds. Because back then killers actually required skill and survivors back then didn't know how to loop so the old ruin could really slow things down

I might get some Flame for this, but imo dbd needs a core Update and not just New perks and perk changes. Survivors need another Objective, one thats not as important As Gens, but still important enough to not ignore. My Idea is to rework pallets. Instead of all the pallets spawning into the trial at the beggining, only a handful would appear by default. The rest need to be crafted and perhaps placed by survivors. They would either need to craft pallets at where they want to Place it, or they would need to find some sort of station and then drag the palet there. If they get hit, then they drop the palet + While carrying/Dragging a Palet, they Make a lot of noises and they become hindered. Unplaced pallets that are laying on the ground, could be destroyed by the killer. Another change I had in Mind with this Update is Palet Variety, instead of having the same Pallets everywhere, there would be Pallets with different sizes and density. Default pallets would still remain at "Fair loops", on unsafe Loops Bigger pallets would spawn, they Take slightly longer to pull down by survivors, but they also stun the killer for longer and Take more time to Break. On the other hand, on loops that are "too safe" or "God Pallets" would be replaced by tinier pallets that would have the opposite effect, they can be pulled down faster, but they stun for less time + Break faster. Survivors would only be able to craft and carry Small and Medium Pallets. Idk If I Said something good or Something stupid, but its an Idea I came Up with while working with Pallets IRL.

Honestly, the game just needs a new game mode. Generators may be the objective, but it's boring, and not what people usually login for. Chases are the most fun, I'd love to see a mode focused on that. I believe that mode would have the absolute most variety in perks and fun gameplay. Where killers don't have to stress about a gen every single second, and survivors don't have to go through the joy of filling a progress bar on everything.

I used eruption before it was such a big deal. I always thought it was a decent perk but I stopped using it for what is now my regular build. I don't plan on using it again tho cuz I know everyone is gonna shit on me for using it.

There will always be a meta, even if all the current meta perks get nerfed to the ground. People that want to win will find a meta. People that want to have fun will run some of those not commonly used perks. There’s no changing the way people play the game, and changing the perks won’t change them either. Edit: that shrine idea at the end sounds fantastic! It probably wouldn’t make people that want to win change up their builds but it’s still an interesting idea.

BBQ without bonus BPs and “Circle of healing” was the death of DBD variety. Now you can’t split pressure and have no incentive in chasing multiple players. You will need to slow the game by getting downs, so most of the casuals decided to camp/tunnel, since hooking everyone gives no benefit

A meta is anything that particularly stands out above the rest. Unless all the perks in the game were lukewarm a meta would always exist, as the objective of the game never changes, So anything objective based would be above the rest as is

the problem with many perk surv is they are very very situational. Why do I need to use Balance Landing if not all maps have a jump point? why do i have to use Poised, Corrective Action, Low Profile,Up the Ante, Calm Spirit, Inner Focus, Technician, and many other perks? some perks even if weak are fun (Blast Mine,Diversion, Breakout, Blood Pact,Wiretap and a few more)... that's ok, but if i want a "solid" perk, the choices are still the same 10-15 perks. Bottom line, let's worry about trash perks rather than good perks (on both sides)😂😂

It's really difficult to make perfect meta for DBD cause it's a game about repairing gens or killing everyone. Only thing i could think of is killer that changes the core of the game but it's cause i watched Slenderman killer concept and changing gens to 8 pages to work like normal gens but getting more and more makes the killer stronger until endgame where killer is in it's strongest but survivors can already open the gates (On which now i think about, would make end game builds very popular.... Hm) would be honestly a bad idea cause it will be terrible to play against and it would change meta only when playing this killer so it wouldn't work unless everyone would start to play this killer

The thing is, there 130+ perks in the game, over 14 pages of em, yet the Meta has and always will be anti gen and slow down for killers and Exaustion/Second Chance/Gen Rush perks. The best way to fix the meta is to change the objective, or to make other game modes that don't heavily rely on gens

Haven't played this game yet, but want to so badly when I get a proper set up, but one of the things that's always annoying, is when survivor mains seemingly complain about perks that killers abuse, when it's necessary because of the perks survivors abuse, they complain about Eruption which regresses gens, but if you're a killer main, and you don't use it, you run the risk of a team of survivors using gen rushing builds, and then they pop 3 gens in the first 6 minutes of a match, which I would argue is not fun for either side...who wants to play a match that's only 8 minutes, where only a few survivors get hit, or hooked, and no one dies? Where's the tension in a close match? Gone. I know that some killer mains can be assholes, also abuse builds, or camp, or troll, but sometimes survivor mains act so entitled. Maybe, I'm reaching, but survivor mains can sometimes seem really salty. For people, who actually play the game, regularly, let me know if I'm right, or off about this.

I'm gonna keep running 4x slowdown perks until chases aren't just following scratch marks until I catch up and the survivor predrops the pallet. I have no problem making the game miserable for survivors after playing this game for nearly 7 years now.

I think, they should do every mid Chapter a great perk Overhaul. Basically, nerf the 20 most used perks (10 each side) and buff the 20 less used ones, that would be so chaotic and i would love it. And it must not be great nerfs or buffs, on some perks they could changes the numbers

Still feel balanced landing should be based kit for survivors but without the speed boost cause how’s it fair we are slowed down tremendously and have a long recovery resulting in us losing distance when falling from heights but the killer has little to no slow down from falling from heights…

I just really dislike metas in any game, the reason I love big roster games like DBD is so I can try out all these cool guns or perks or whatever, but a meta always inevitably comes out and now “If you’re not using this or that then you’re practically throwing”, and I get why they exist, because of course you’d want to use the best stuff to win, either way, I’d love a variety meta where many different things are viable, because it does get tiring seeing everyone use the same stuff over and over

I think the problem are gens. Why people want a chase meta? Because it's BORING to do gens .I think while you're make the gen you should have constant QTEs evidently QTe will be easier and if you miss one it just doesn't increase the progression of the gen and you have to miss a lot to the killer to see it and to loose progress(it will also buff stealth killer because survivor need to stay focus on the gen Hello Myers) and in the killer side a perk that make if you're in chase it's more long to do gen .

i think they should make all killers at the same power level as the demogorgon and the ancient hillbily, these two were the fairest and were taken from us, What I mean by that is, a killer who's good at chasing and knows how to handle fucked up loops, who has counter play for his entire kit, who makes chase exciting and frantic but never unfair, With fun gameplay for both the survivors and the killer, where the killer isn't frustrated by weak and disappointing power, and the survivors aren't crushed by something unfair Ps: also buff hillbily pleas bhvr
