What Was Mrs. Trumble's Secret on I Love Lucy! I'll reveal it...PLUS a BONUS ONE!
Mrs. Trumble (Elizabeth Patterson) was an integral part of I Love Lucy! She played the babysitter who took care of Little Ricky when the group was away or busy. But what ELSE do we know about her? Well, I'll tell you ALL you need to know in my newest video! Enjoy!
P.S. She had a pet cat

Elizabeth Patterson was the second oldest credited actress to appear on I Love Lucy. She was born 11/22/1874. The oldest was Dorothea Wolbert born several months earlier seen in the Lottery episode in 1955 at age 80. However Elizabeth then became the oldest in her appearance in The Bon Voyage episode in 1956 at the age of 81.

I will always Love....I love lucy, it is and always will be a classic that is simply the best..that being said shows like seinfeld and friends are amazing too, remember the 90's were very different times to the 1950's, everything was tabou then, you couldnt even say the word pregnant but you could say having a baby and you couldnt show a married couple in the same bed back then either lol...They were more innocent sweeter times .

@ linda ackerman I understand your comment about the difference in the times. And I do watch Seinfeld and Friends and think they're funny. But in comparison to shows like The Honeymooners and I LOVE LUCY, I just feel that they fall short on humor and context, especially because of the "tabu" stuff that the older sitcoms had to steer clear of and they still managed to be as funny as they were. But it's Ok to agree to disagree on things like this 😉 Enjoy your weekend!

Another great vid, Rick! Going strictly by memory, isn't Patterson's character name in "The Marriage License" ep, Mrs. Willoughby? I think it's Ricky, who characteristically mangles it a bit to "Mrs. Willoughwy." I seem to remember that, 'cause I always loved how Desi/Ricky had trouble, sometimes with names and words. BTW, I used to use Ricky's "through, threw, thruff, throw (as in cow)" routine (from whichever ep I can't remember) when I taught kiddos (you may have, too!). I'm wondering if there's something you can do with that routine, in the way of little-known info, etc, and if nothing else, highlight that scene's useful benefit for English teachers!!

@@GoBig-jc3ir Oh yeah, all that's really funny stuff!! I did however recognize Elizabeth Peterson from one of my all-time novel’s made into the movie Little Women (The later version in 1949) she portrayed Hannah. Ms. Patterson was also in “So Big” 1932 with Barbara Stanwyck. “Dinner at Eight” with John and Lionel Barrymore Wallace Beery, Jean Harlow and one of my all-time favorite actress’s Maria Dressler! Elizabeth Patterson was born in the South in 1874, she was never married and lived in the same Hollywood hotel “The Roosevelt” for over 35 years. I love that you pick other characters besides the main four and tell stories about them. I love old movies anything before 1963 and I’m crazy about Comedy sitcom‘s like I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners and The Andy Griffith Show. Rick you’re a very interesting young man and make wonderful videos. Thank You. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I remember her in the movie Little Women, 1949. Liz Taylor, June Alyson & Margaret O'Brien were also in it. Great movie, I have that on DVD.

Would be nice if Rick Nineg would also give Dean RITTER a free case of lima beans just like Mr. RITTER was going to give to Ricky Ricardo.

Aunt Matilda! I forgot that. On another note... I saw a video showing Col. Klink and Sgt. Shultz singing a Christmas song

I liked the episode where they all were auditioning and she sang dressed as a Spanish dancer complete with castinettes

Matilda Trumbell, she was great!!! She looks like a Matilda. Kathryn Card as Lucy's mother was another older, excellent actress.

181 episodes of “I Love Lucy” were produced. You forgot the pilot and the Christmas episode.

Pilot is never counted as an episode. It’s simply a pilot. So it is 179. Christmas episode is never included in syndication...it’s often called the Christmas special so it’s not usually included in the 179

rick nineg You are absolutely correct if you are counting only the episodes in syndication. In terms of episodes produced the number is 181.
