as soon as we all saw how quickly kurt adapted and the respect and professionalism he had for the business, he was instantly accepted and respected by the fans.
The moment I knew that he'd have a solid career was his first match, when he rolled out of the ring and cut a masterful heel promo. Up until then the crowd wasn't that into the match, but after that they booed the guy like mad. I know it was Vince's call mid-match but Angle delivered that on the fly. After that I started watching him very closely, and it was extremely obvious he'd be going places. Shame that promos are so scripted now. It cuts guys off at the knees.
Yes, he legit worked and wrestled with all great people in the wrestling business. He was more decorated wrestler than Triple-H and Rock. If he had squared off with Goldberg, he would have won at least one with him too.
Angle was a great wrestler but I don’t think we would beat Goldberg. Berg was a beast and everyone knows the reason why Angle got all that stamina if someone say that Goldberg didn’t fought long as Angle
The second half of this clip is such good advice for anyone starting in a new organisation - be professional, leverage your past experience/achievements but also be modest, pleasant and agreeable. Make it easy for people to like you. You still have to deliver on the role, but with all of these things taken together, you will win respect, people will take to you and you will progress
Angle used to be a nice technical wrestler but just the same as Jeff Hardy, he got some “help” to got all that stamina and gave everyone a good show. And I’m not underestimating him
It’s funny, I know the Undertaker is known as one of the most popular legends of all time in the WWE. But I always liked and was more amazed by Kurt Angle as a performer in and out of ring. Kurt showed some real personality and had some really memorable hilarious segments, while showing athleticism and strength and skill in the ring, second to none. The Undertakers act always got a bit monotonous to me. Just me though, but still all the respect in the world to the Undertaker! 🙏👍
