I'm bracing myself for an uproar of comments about the food in Garmisch but I tell it like it is. The food, or cuisine, in the Yelp, Travel Advisor, etc., recommendations was "good-mediocre" - nothing great.

Also, have you considered AirBNB? We did them all through Europe and enjoyed the facilities of an apartment as opposed to a hotel room i.e. a kitchen.

I am usually happiest in a hotel, guesthouse or pension where someone else is responsible for cleaning up. I hate cooking on vacation. Don't mind fast food -- in fact love fast food -- but I cook at home and don't want to touch a frying pan on vacation. Thanks for your thoughts and best regards, Sheila

Oh...so do I! But, as I always say, it has to be good. Whether it's pizza by the slice or a gourmet meal. I'm happy with both. Thanks for watching. Did it make you hungry or did you think. "OMG - here they are in Germany and eating Burger King?"

It all looked delicious. Like you, I get fed up with eating out after a while. Especially hotel breakfasts, which are heaven for the first few days, but after that, I switch to toast because I can't face another egg with sausage! LOL!

How very true. We travel through Italy - get tired of espresso and sweet croissant. Move on to Germany and can't stomach another piece of ham after several days. Aren't we perverse? Then back home, it's yogurt and fruit - how boring... lol

I went on a Viking cruise. Slightly disappointed in the food served. Liked the fresh fruits, but the main courses were plain, like microwave food.

I really understand how cruises and tours find it impossible to satisfy all tastes with so many to feed.
