Returning to the village and grandma's cooking in Greece. CC: English, Dutch, Greek 0:00 day 1 3:07 day 2 7:32 day 3 10:16 day 4 14:11 day 5 15:57 day 6 19:59 day 7 ep1: • What we eat in a week ...
If I haven’t read the title I would say that this is my hometown Çanakkale (turkey) which has Greek roots of course. We have literally had the same menu last week. This should be the life we all aim for you guys, good food organic life and healthy minds ❤
My husband is greek and he always say , when you visit Greece, go outside Athens, Athens is smelly and sux lol. You can find treasure in small villages ans cities
The Greek diet is mainly vegetarian.Meat dishes used to be once a week and fish too. Traditionally we don't consume anything coming from meat every Wednesday and Friday during the whole year. Also we fast about 40 days in Easter and the most hardcore people fast at Christmas too.
Same in my culture. Leftovers are wonderful. All the meals - simple or otherwise - look absolutely delicious. What could be better than an omelette with feta and side salad of seasonal tomatoes and cucumber?
Sending a big hug and kisses to your grandma for making all those dishes from her garden that she tends to!! Nothing beats grandma's homemade cooking!!
Greek cuisine is so close to Armenian cuisine as well as Turkish cuisine as they all lived together for centuries. I’m Armenian and I cook everything that she cooked with some minor differences in spices as I was born and raised in the Middle East. One day I want to try to make the tomato dolma stuffed with rice and pine nuts and parsley which is an authentic Greek dish. I had it back home in an Armenian family from Greece and I loved it. I went online and found the recipe but I don’t think it is the same dolma that I had back home. Nothing online is authentic, they make changes to it and it doesn’t taste the same. Have a good day everybody.
Thank you so much for sharing! These videos are so relaxing and comforting to watch, also therapeutic and quite healing TBH. Looking forward for more (if possible:)
I just realized that my RU-vid had a incredible algorithm. I was find content like this in Greek food for a long time because I’m so obsessed with Greek culture especially food and now I found it I’m so grateful 🥺thank you for your precious and gorgeous video keep it great work
That's so great! We made a video of her preparing that dish in 2022, with more details regarding ingredients etc. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KD9efo5VUbg.html
Everything looks so good and so fresh! Those fritters...😍 Also, that dark chocolate cake with the crushed biscuits didn't look too bad either! I think every Mediterranean country has a version of that. Living in a desert, I'm so envious of your grandma's garden. Ευχαριστώ πολύ!
Oh I love grocery hauls from other countries! I just moved to Japan and love strolling around the supermarket too and finding new stuff 😊 I think grocery shopping in different countries gives great insight into what the country’s culture is like!
@@adayortwo Absolutely! There are many fresh markets in Japan and little stands where you can just pick up farm-fresh veggies and leave your money in a little box there. That's super useful!
This is simply beautiful. I really like Greece the simplicity of the food that's so delicious and wholesome. Your grandma lives in a wonderful place, and I'd love to taste her food.
Oh my God. My first boyfriend was Greek and we were together for 10 years and we used to go back to Komotini for many holidays from University and his mother taught me the basis of my cooking today. I miss them so much especially his Mum who adored me and wanted me to marry her son. Her spinach and meat and cheese pies were more than amazing. I cringe at frozen filo and don’t attempt to cook with it but one thing Incant do is the pastry 😢 Happy days ❤
@@thamieklybodonmi He went into the army and then cheated after that once. Yep charming. I used to go and visit him in the mountains in deep snow with his mother to see him for even half an hour in the army. I waited for him for 3 years. Anyway I’ll never forget those years anyway and his Mum we were great friends too. Such as life!!
I hope one day you’ll be able to share your family recipes, everything looks so hearty and delicious, thank you for letting us appreciate these moments with you 😊 I hope one day I’ll be able to make my food look and taste as good as your grandma’s!
The place is so peaceful, veggies and fruits look exactly like in Southern Italy, however I find this snippet of Greece being more down to earth than many places Italy...which unfortunately it's losing its roots for the pure purpose of becoming super pretentious. I will swap location even now xo
Every food looks so delicious and the preparation is neat and tidy, i want to make the bean soup❤. When i went to Crete i loved the fresh veg and fruit. But homemade food is the best, simple flavours with herbs. I also love fruit for dessert and using natural sweetness from the fruit and citrus, nut, dark chocolate home made. Also love the cute little animals in your videos, the drog, cat, birds noises
Hi, I love your nature videos it really brings me back to my little town 😊 I wanted to know what camera you use for recording the videos because I also want to start a youtube channel. Thank you again for your videos 👌👌
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-apDM81fu6gU.html . We made a video for the cabbage rolls in 2022, with more details regarding ingredients etc.
Pity she seems to have to do so much alone. Aren't families brought up to cook together there? It looks lonely and seems like disproportionate labour for one person. Or does she normally live alone when you're not visiting??
