A pre season friendly, cos last season Gravenberch wasn’t very good, he was a squad player, he couldn’t play in the 8 or the 6 particularly well, and Klopp completely changed the profile of midfielders he wanted or else he wouldn’t have bought Szoboszlai and Macca. But Macca shone last season and he isn’t necessarily a “workhorse”. A CDM is pivotal in any world class team, every title challenging team has one City, Arsenal, Real Madrid etc. So I believe we still need to sign a DM, hopefully the Zubimendi deal gets over the line.

It's a bit unfair to everyone on that team tbh, I feel like it's more of a test for Slot vs defensive football, but I understand where people come from regarding that. Gakpo and Nunez just back with the team while Robbo just back from injury, hard to give actual review for some players.

it wont be the same but it will be similar , it will probably look like a 2-3-5 and the 3rd man runs or up back and through as panenka calls it will just take place around the area with shorter passes , probably looking similar to how man city attack teams , attacking the byeline between penalty box and 6 yard box lines and looking for cut backs . slotts attacking looks like peps in that its about getting that shot off in the good xg areas , elliots assist for carvallho is kind of one from central position , but jones goal is a cut back from that dangerous area i describe above and i suspect thats more like what slott will want . we will be able to tell more watching more training sessions when they are finishing because thats kind of when you are training attacking shape and getting players to practice finishing from those positions , muscle memory and all that good stuff lol

Jota is MILES better than Nunez, he put up similar goalscoring numbers as all our attackers bar Salah and only played half the season. He was pivotal in January when we lost a lot of players through injury, and look at today not only did he score an amazing goal but he was involved in 2 others. Jota starts over Nunez any day of week when fit. Nunez is good at making runs and quite frankly awful at all other aspects, main one being finishing, Jota is even way better in the air despite Nunez being 6”1.

@@hussainpatel3560 incorrect, the one closest to Salah last season in terms of numbers was Nunez, Jota was even below Gakpo, factually Jota isnt better in the air than Nunez, he isnt faster, he isnt stronger, he might be more intricate and better at being tidy but thats about it, Nunez has much better overall attributes for a striker, also another fact Nunez was our best attacker last season before Klopp started taking him in and out of the team and pretty much pointing fingers at him whenever something went wrong which just hurt his confidence, factually it never actually helped when Nunez wasnt in the team, nothing was better, he was subbed off against United and we didnt win, he was subbed off against City and we didnt win, he was subbed off against Atalanta when we were 1-0 down, looked like the only threat out there, got subbed off and we got stuffed, got taken off against Palace and we lost 1-0, factually the team misses him, he is the best striker Liverpool got and if is allowed to play regularly he proves it, and thats the main difference between him and Jota, Nunez is actually available and doesnt warm up hospital beds

Nunez was the worst finisher in Europes top 5 leagues, the worst big chance conversion rate in Europe, thats the main attribute of a striker is finishing, Nunez is THE WORST in Europe at it. And faster and stronger are just physical traits, actual footballing ability Jota blows Nunez out the water, he’s better at finishing, dribbling, passing, his football IQ is way higher, he IS better in the air. Like I said Nunez is good at making runs “movement” per se, he’s awful at everything else. Just look at the las palmas game, the amount of times he constantly made the wrong decision, not releasing the ball quick enough or making the wrong pass.

agree, i think that we need a proper right back because Trent really lacks in defending, pace wingers literally killed him all season long and that creates a genuine hole in our defense :/

i don't know how much time you take to write all this bullshite. if trent is not great at defending in 1v1 situations cuz of his lack of speed and agility not cuz he want to be "cool". it's like a andreas pirlo, he isn't bad in defending 1v1 cuz he don't want to win duel but he cuz he have real difficulty. plus now all the winger are built to be amazingly fast and good dribbler
