We test and review the Dyson V11 highlighting what we really like about this cordless vacuum. We show cleaning ability on carpet and discuss many vacuum features. See it on Amazon: amzn.to/39YvKhE
See the Dyson V11 review on our site: vacuum-cleaner-advisor.com/Dy...
We start the video review by highlighting what you get with the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and what you get with the V11 Animal, and we point out that presently these are the only two models available in the US. We briefly discuss the V11 Absolute and what comes with it as well.
We discuss the differences in the controls panels of the Torque Drive (LCD) and the Animal (LED). We also show all the key features of the LCD control panel provided with the Torque Drive. We highlight the different power modes and the “real time” remaining run time readout. In addition, we show the short video clips the LCD control panel displays when there is a filter issue and when there is a potential blockage.
A table of official run times in each of the three power modes is shown and discussed. We also test the run times in each power mode and compare them to the official times. The vacuum was run with the High Torque cleaner head on a piece of medium pile carpet and a stopwatch was used to determine the actual run time in each power mode.
We run the V11 on a debris field of ground cheerios, flax seeds, chili flakes, split green peas, animal hair and even human hair. The V11 is run in each of the three power modes and the video clips show the cleaning performance. We also show how well the V11 cleans bare floors (in this case tile) in Boost Mode (the highest power mode).
The vacuum is very easy to turn and maneuver, in part due to its reasonably light weight (compared to many other brands), swivel steering, and cordless design. We show how easy the vacuum is to steer.
An explanation of MED mode and AUTO mode is provided. We explain that the vacuum has 3 sensors - one in the High Torque cleaner head, one in the digital motor, and one in the battery. When the High Torque cleaner head is attached you will see AUTO mode displayed and when any other tools is used you will see MED mode. A shot of the vacuum moving from carpet to a tile floor and back to carpet (when in AUTO mode) shows the run times changing as the motor speed adjusts automatically.
We used a digital noise level meter to record noise levels and a table of decibel output in each power mode is shown and discussed. We also compare noise levels to that of the earlier Dyson stick vacuums.
We highlight that the V11 has both a HEPA filter and a sealed system and we discuss the advantages of having both of these features in one vacuum.
We show the difference between compression fit tools and “click-fit” tools and show how they work, using a Shark vacuum (IONFlex) to show compression fit tools. We conclude that the Dyson “click-fit” approach is, in our opinion, better.
Maintenance on the V11 is made to be fairly easy and straightforward. We walk you through emptying the dust canister, removing and cleaning the dust canister, removing and cleaning the HEPA filter, dealing with tangles in the High Torque cleaner head, and even how to take apart and clean the Soft Roller cleaner head (should you have the V11 Absolute or should you have the Soft Roller cleaner head from an earlier machine or bought one separately).
We show all the different tools that are provided with the V11 Torque Drive and the V11 Animal, and we compare the number of tools to the number provided with the V8 Absolute and the V10 Absolute. We also show how the new wand storage clip works.
Finally, the size of the V11 dust canister is discussed and it is compared to the dust canister capacities of the V6, V7, V8, and V10. I hope you enjoyed this Dyson V11 review with our tests and comparisons to other Dyson cordless vacuums.
I would also like to point out that I make every effort to be unbiased in my videos. If there is something about a product I do not like - I will let you know!

Got mine on order, delivery Thursday. Got it, love it! I did order the fluffy head roller for my 2,600 sq ft of hardwood flooring. The roller head that comes with the vac is great but I like the fluffy head for picking up the dust which is my main concern.

Anyone have the V11 with the High Torque head, and have the torque head have a delay in spinning when you turn the vacuum on? When I pull the trigger, the suction is immediate, but the brush roll on the high torque head has a delay that ranges from around 2 seconds to 5 seconds.
@VacuumAdvisor
@VacuumAdvisor 5 лет назад
Hi Jason - I notice maybe a 0.5 to 1 second delay (for the brushroll to kick in) when using my V11 with the high torque cleaner head.
@jasonwhitton8106
@jasonwhitton8106 5 лет назад
VacuumAdvisor I actually took the brush roll off, and found that there was a gray plastic ring that had snapped, at the base of the post that the brush roll sits on. I went on amazon, and there are two reviews that had the same problem. They actually posted pictures with the same exact piece broken. Dysons customer service was excellent, and had a replacement head sent in two days, and there is about a second delay on the new head. It seems to be functioning properly. I’d suggest anyone getting this vacuum to check where the brush roll attaches. Other than that, I love the v11! Perfect for cat litter pick up throughout the day.

Which one did you end up going for? I have all hard floors in my home. I don’t believe the absolute model is offered in the US, so I was thinking about ordering the V11 torque or animal and then purchasing the soft roller separately. Just wondering if you went without the soft roller and how it’s been working for you.

@@teeeff8337 Hi Tara, I went for the absolute and in general I use the soft roller on the hard floors and the normal head on my carpet. I actually switch it over and I feel like the soft roller is better on the hard floors. But in the odd occasion I can't be bothered to switch over I use the normal head on my floors and it's fine. The one thing that's bothering me about my V10 is that when new, the dustbin is clear like glass, but after a few months becomes fogged and a slightly opaque. I wiped it down internally with isopropyl alcohol and it had no efffect. I just think it's a disappointment for such a high end product. It looks crummy like when car headlights become fogged. I presume it's the same on the V11? Maybe there's some treatment that can polish it up permanently?
@Lennox1492
@Lennox1492 5 лет назад
I have had the same issue with all of my Dyson products. I think it's because it's a combo of dirt and scratches. If Dyson coated the bin with something perhaps it would stay clear but sadly I don't think there is anything we can do ourselves. In the same boat and miss the brand new Dyson look
@jasonwhitton8106

The actual replacement bin is only like 20 dollars on Dyson’s site.
@Lennox1492
@Lennox1492 5 лет назад
@@jasonwhitton8106 yes however it will just get cloudy after a few months of use also. Why should a customer have to keep buying a canister for 20$ here and there when they drop 500+ on a vacuum. I think its reasonable for the manufacturer to correct this issue. After all, they are "scientists" aren't they?
@Animal_lives_matter
@Animal_lives_matter 5 лет назад
@@jasonwhitton8106 I might buy a replacement bin and try the clearcoat primer suggestion. I also think Dyson should have included 2 filters, one to use while the other one is drying, which can take up to 2 days in winter or humid climates. Even my $150 vacuum came with 2 filters. I speculate this is how Dyson budget for their warranty as their customer service is very quick to send out replacement parts under warranty.
@nathanielmatthew9555
@nathanielmatthew9555 5 лет назад
@@Lennox1492 It isn't an issue, and if you think it is you're crazy. Vacuum cleaners are tools they aren't showpieces. Sure, keep it clean to make sure it runs well, but no reasonable person cares whether the plastic of the bin clouds. Plastic will naturally do that and there is no reasonably cost-effective way for Dyson to stop it. The only way they could fix it would be by using a glass bin and I'm sure you can realize how stupid that would be.

Still no swappable battery and a recharging time of 4.5 hours. The Tineco A11 vacuum comes with two swappable batteries and it's also lighter. Dyson has now got stiff competition.
@blackice7408
@blackice7408 5 лет назад
You dont need two batteries when that one battery has a huge amount of power and time usage out of it. Come on. Think ppl. And the charge time is pretty good for what it is because fast charging a battery strains it and shortens its lifetime. But gently charging a battery helps to stretch its lifetime as long as possible. Besides lets say you forget to charge the second battery when the one ur using dies. Now you have to charge both batteries. And its extra battery land fill waste when you have 2 batteries instead of one big wffective battery. Use your head mayne
@cristianrosescu2914
@cristianrosescu2914 5 лет назад
If the battery in the Dyson vacuum dies then your Dyson vacuum cleaner becomes land fill waste. Dyson wants you to buy a new vacuum cleaner if/when the battery dies. And yes, I need two batteries and so should you. Use your head! All electric lawn mowers come with swappable batteries and for a good reason.
