This channel is quickly becoming indispensable to my mental health. Putting it on while Im at work, Koa's peaceful vibe, the serene sounds of the ocean and the thrill of surfing really help calm my headspace. I dont know why that is but thank you Koa!

You made the comment about how do they judge a good day vs a bad day? I'm no professional and I do not know the official answer, but I would think you judge each day on its own merit. A deep barrel on a 12-foot perfect day would get you a 10 but I feel that a scratched, sloppy barrel and forced off-the-lip on a 6-foot sketchy day should grade a 9 plus if a surfer squeezes out the best a wave has to offer compared to all the waves of the session. Just my opinion, but I would like to know how Pipe judges deal this this situation.

As a sponsored athlete in my youth let me give you some advice. Saying conditions suck or the waves are $hitty is not going to get you any sound bites and is not what your sponsors want out of you. Jamie was much more professional in his approach saying that "the conditions were tough, but you make the best of what the ocean gives you." You need to remember that your sponsors want someone positive and resilient in adversity. You are the face of their brand. You need to work on your competition surfing, every point counts. Every weak barrel/wave you make needs turns and/or an air after you come out. Maximize your score at any given time instead of giving up on the wave. I once won a competition by 0.1 of a point and that was an eye opening valuable lesson on how close it can be. Never give up and be gracious when you win or lose. That's what the people want!

If someone trys surf "ur spot" and you confront them but they tell you to f off. Do you fight them 1v1 or do u fight them 5v1?

I am not a big fan of ceremonies like sitting in a circle in the ocean doing some chant. Respect all the surfers over there and I bet many hate doing it. I know I would be sick that day.
