1:13:30 Dandori, 段取り, uses the kanji for "grade/stairs/steps" and "take". It translates to program, plan, or arrangement. I'm kind of surprised they left something like that untranslated; it has "keikaku means plan" vibes. I haven't played Pikmin so I don't know how it's used there. It probably relates to build strategy, assuming that's how Pikmin works.

They Cloned Tyrone was a movie I started watching with very little expectations and came away really, really enjoying. 8/10.

1:20:00 - This reminds me of the River City Ransom re-release for Nintendo DS. They removed the multiplayer element, despite that being the entire purpose of RCR and the Nintendo DS. Even to the point of making it impossible to play by dual connecting two copies using the direct connection cord. It was Nintendo's middle finger customer service for true fans.

Very interesting to hear Roberts analysis of Poe's work. I am curious to hear his thoughts on Poe's biography. I remember watching "Sausage Party" one time. And it was many years ago. And as I am listening to Nick's review, I remember having a similar rating. And I expect "Strays" (2023) to be like that. At least after seeing the trailer for that it was the first time after years I ever thought again of "Sausage Party" and that kind of... "humor".

I liked Vin Diesel in the movie Riddick. The second Riddick movie was... serviceable.

Watch Scavengers Reign. The art style is heavily influenced by Mobius the french comic book artist who was the inspiration for blade runner and the sci fi aesthetic of that era. It feels like watching something written by intelligent, creative adults which is not something I can say about most shows these days. The characters feel like real people. It presents as sci fi but is probably closer to cosmic Horror in a lot of ways.

'Last Crusade' is worse for winking at the audience than the first two. It's filled with dopey comedy moments ("Venice!", Brody's antics, etc.), meta moments and slap dash character writing for everyone except Jones Jnr & Jones Snr. It's like a Roger Moore Bond film made in place of 'Goldfinger'.

I watched Bad Times at the El Royale some time ago and I remember liking it. It definately had some Tarantino influences and I felt the creator was trying to make a new Pulp Fiction. It was ok overall. I don't regret watching it but I doubt I will see it again anytime soon.

That's pretty much exactly what I thought about it. It's worth seeing once if you like slow-burning noir.

say what you will about sausage party but watching it in the cinema, after the ending, i turn around and see some obvious too young kids that snuck into the movie with very confused and shamed faces. now THAT'S comedy

57:40 this movie actually deserves far more hate than you are giving it. The entire premise of Shadow of the Moon is that revolutions that challenge the government, **specifically** citing the Revolutionary War that founded America, are bad, and therefore this small band of scientists know what's best for everyone so they send this girl into the past to kill innocent people who would, over time, influence normal citizens to recognize the government was oppressing them and rise up to stop them. This would be like making a movie about how the Civil Rights movement was bad, and using time travel to assassinate the people who would inspire Civil Rights leaders. It was SO DUMB! And it didn't even feel organic to the story, it felt like someone took an otherwise decent sci-fi thriller and slapped that explanation on the end as to why the girl is going back in time to kill these random people. Man that ending pissed me off. I saw this years ago and I still remember wanting to throw something at the TV after watching it.

Awh yeah MK 95. I'm not really into re2make nor 3make. They were ok but I hate how they told the story and some of the decisions made. 4make pretty much the same.

Sausage Party was such a crappy movie imo and the food orgy was just the revolting cherry on top of the shit show Thanks for releasing these I really like them all - I know people can whine when your takes don’t perfectly agree with theirs but I learned during your Star Trek run that I can disagree with you personally about a piece of media while still appreciating your takes and enjoying your reviews, so please keep it up

I love you guys, I really do, but ANOTHER bad take on a John Williams score. smh. I also don't understand the "winking" comment. This film is actually playing a lot of the story straight. There are stakes, there's an edge to the film, the comedic moments are perfectly timed and the dialogue is mature. Raiders is no where near a goofy and obvious as something like KING SOLOMAN'S MINES from 1985.

Agree with your take on 'Raiders'. The film's elements gel together very well and it manages to use its budget in a very effective way.
