In canon, Sidious wanted to perform a mega ritual that would have allowed him to reality warp the universe in his image. The empire and the creation of the death star was meant to subjugate the galaxy long enough for him to complete the ritual and obtain omnipotence. It's mentioned in the Tarkin novel.

I got the notification for this one as I was watching your previous stream upload(I missed the live stream). *excitement intensifies* I’m certain that Palpatine would’ve been able to repel the vong more effectively and in a shorter amount of time given that he sensed their presence and the empire would be more militarized than the new republic so there was at least some preparation for the vong compared to the new republic being caught completely off guard

In Rebels we see him trying to control time itself so really his ambition knows no bounds. However I believe he would've focused on the Unknown Regions in search of either power or any possible threats (like the Vong or Snoke) and take control of the Chiss before moving on to other projects like immortality or controlling the universe. It's funny how often the Empire's weaknesses are discussed because it really comes down to Palps simply not caring. To him, his fleets were only a temporary solution until his powers in the dark side controlled everything. The Rebels were a threat, but I'm sure he considered them peanuts compared to the Jedi. The only person who could keep Palps focused on his empire was Thrawn, but when he disappeared (or was simply away doing other things in Legends) Palps lost touch with his surroundings and focused only on the force. With all that said, he and the Empire have enough strength to crush the Vong. The whole reason Thrawn joined the Empire was because he knew it could despite its flaws.

If Palpatine had been able to completely consolidate his power and control the entire galaxy, he would have been able to plan a counteroffensive against the Yuzhan Vong while the bulk of their Force with still in the intergalactic void. With a completely Consolidated military effort, the dark Empire would have likely been able to wipe them out before they even made it past the outer rim. The reason the Yuuzhan Vong War was so devastating was largely connected to the New Republic's hesitance to act.

Hey, Ecks, I'd like to see your opinion on what the Rebels would have done with various ships that they could have stumbled across - how good they would have been, what the rebels would have done with them, etc.

What would Palpatine do once he is immortal? Go home to Naboo? Make amends? Since survival through conflict is the prime motivation for the sith, it would make sense since he is powerful enough to not follow the sith rules.

Something you left out was that, in the tarkin novel, palpatine wished to eventually expand his power enough to access the absurdly rare dark side ability of reality warping, and fashion a universe in his own image using said power.

I think that something that is scaring or worrying Palpatine is an interesting idea cause that man is really not scared of anything.

If Palpatine had been successful in defeating the Rebels, I believe that he would have been able to crush the Yuuzhan Vong. I think he would have realized the potential of Mon Calamari Shielding and made an effort to capture that technology, thus strengthening the already existing Star Destroyers. I also think that, in a typical Palpatine move, he would have just thrown as many ships as possible at Helska IV, if the Vong were even able to get that far, causing significantly more deaths, but eventually totally suppressing and pushing the Vong out of the Galaxy. This is also assuming that Palpating, and the newly turned Luke wouldn't have been able to sense where the threat was going to come from and shut the Vong down as soon as they arrived at Vector Prime. But that's just my theory.

How about a vs vid, featuring the Citadel navies, or Turian Empire, backed by the Krogan, Volus, Quarian and Geth against the Separatist Alliance(CIS).

That was always his plan. The rebel worlds were already blockaded in both and the worlds on the death star destruction list from the first death star would only have grown and then been destroyed . It was always the implementation of the Tarkin Doctrine was his immediate goal followed by the conquest of the unknown regions through Thrawn's Empire of the Hand or just a massive invasion. Followed by invading other galaxies and living forever. With wiping out the Vong if they are there.

I'm afraid you are incorrect on the Legends front. It's stated in the Essential Guide to Warfare that after the victory at Endor the Death Star would destroy the planets of Mon Calamari and Chandrilla which both had large Imperial fleet elements preparing to blockade them.(Grand Moff Ardus Kaine's Scourge Squadron and Reaper slotted to deal with Mon Cal) Palpatine also had plans to sacrifice Bakura to the Ssi Ruuvi Imperium in exchange for entechment technology and techniques in a deal he made with them.

I would like to know what Palpatines plan was in rebels season 3, would he have changed something about the past? And if so, what? I mean all his plans succeeded, exept that bit about Anakin. But honestly, having a "weakened" Anakin as an apprentice is also much more benifucial to him, since he wouldnt really be able to rebell against him.

I can just imagine Palpatine uploading his concsiousnes into a sort of modified Sith holocron, being carried around by some sort of android and ruling through that. Alternatively I can see the picture of grand mofs coming before his throne to seek an audience and special servants activate the holocron so the admiral can speak to the emperor, and he would've ruled for ever indirectly through his commanders this way, with him and his orders acting more like the source of legitimacy for the moffs, rather than having direct personal rule. With the galaxy being carved up by different military leaders, palpatine would've granted sovereignty and legitimacy to any 'warlord' he deemed suitable and "having the emperor's blessing" would've acted like the excuse the moffs used to govern their part of the galaxy, the emperor's grace being revoked at will should the admiral step out of line or lose productivity of his quadrant. This would free up Palpatine to delve into the matters of the force and leave the actual direct 'ruling' to lesser folk. He could indirectly play them off this way against each other in an endless game of seeking the emperor's favour, the loss of wich would mean the loss of legitimacy for your local government in the eyes of the civil population and leave you as a target to be consumed by your surrounding rivals.

Here's a couple of questions: Why Endor? You'd think the Emperor could have stationed/built the Death Star on a planet with a greater imperial force, and fewer Ewoks (small and unassuming as they might be). Did Sidius know about Obi-Wan's becoming a Force ghost? I wonder what he thought of the Jedi achieving (what seems to be definitive) immortality.

A Galaxy under Palpatine, yeah I think the Yuuzhan Vong are fucked if such a thing happens. I mean vast Imperial fleets with gargantuan dreadnougts, World devestators, the Eclipse, Deathstar and galaxygun. Imagine a Vong Worldship vs a World devestator, it would probably tare the ship apart in mere minutes and use it's resources to become even more powerful.

Would like to point out that "victory" for the Empire at the Battle of Endor could have played out in _multiple_ different aspects and levels of magnitude, with pretty much all of the completely plausible outcomes resulting with completely game changing effects for the rest of the SW timeline. One would be the complete removal of (most) the rebellions assets and leadership during the battle itself, by there being a success on the ground in keeping the DS shield up for a bit longer so the DS would have the opportunity to completely rid of rebellion ships in the battle, and if they retreated halfway through for example, they wouldn't of gotten another opportunity to directly engage the Death Star. Secondly, of course, if Darth Vader didn't make any last second thoughts on his loyalty to Sidious which would have resulted in Luke's death things would have completely changed in favor of the Empire and later First Order, regardless if the Death Star along with Darth Vader and Sidious are killed or not. Third, something as seemingly small, at first, as just prioritising the obviously more critical command ships as the crutially more important targets necessary to inflict morale and logistical damage to the belligerent side would have made a _significant_ difference. Without admiral Ackbar and the Home One carrier-based command ship, it's likely that they wouldn't of even had the tactical superiority and assets, such as an abundance of fighters, to take out any critical module of the Executor SSD. And so the many possibilities and combinations of outcomes all result to at least close to what Palpatine had been expecting to happen subsequent to the Battle of Endor, and nothing like what all the plot holes of the SW canon led it to look like.

If one were to look at all the various Legends stuff, Palpatine probably wouldn't even have a chance to do anything because of IG-88 taking over the Death Star II and wiping out all organic life in the galaxy through his Droid Revolution.

I always regretted the Emperors decision of having big useless vessels or stations such as the Death Star.

I think Palpatine would have either encountered Snoke or the Vong depending on which version of Star Wars we use. If we use both he would have first taken out Snoke and then fought a short war with the Vong. It would not have lasted long because Sidious would never have allowed the Vong to become as powerful as the New Republic did.

Just been thinking why didn't the imperial remnant use old droid factories from the clone wars to boost their dwindling numbers and perhaps use them to help man ships/fleets garrison troops ect I know in legends thrawn found a cloning facility on Wayland and used that to good effect so kinda made me think there must of been facilities left over from the clone wars

As much as Empire fanboys like to use the Vong to try and justify Palpatine, they tend to overlook that the Imperial Military was all bark and no bite. Focusing on weapons, vessels and tactics that emphasised form over function.

I've felt that cloning one's self does not lead to an extension of life, that clone is only a copy and my own existence does not continue when my body dies and the clone lives on. Then again it has been a long time since I've read Dark Empire but doesn't the Emperor "force essence" travel from his body to another clone as a voice of the Emperor or am I confusing it with Visiate from SWTOR?

Skynet vs The Flood 121st Attempt Scenario: Skynet beats the resistance, and after that it is alerted of the Flood coming to Earth, and it is given a basic rundown on what the Flood is and what it does, it gets 3 Years to militarize and prepare for the Floods arrival, The Flood will arrive using High Charity's, including it's fleets, weapons, and so on, in Scenario 1a it gets 5 High Charity's, in Scenario 1b it gets 10 High Charity's, and in Scenario 1c it gets 20 High Charities, The Flood may not use the Logic Plague on Skynet, nor may it just glass the planet, SkyNet may not just send a bunch of nukes to the High Charity's, Basically no hard core weapons of mass destruction that could basically end the match up in a few days if not hours, If SkyNet can survive until Scenario 1c then I personally say that it would win, although if that is not enough each scenario could in fact be a wave that SkyNet has to destroy, which would make 35 High Charity's in total, and each wave would come a week after the wave before it was totally destroyed, giving SkyNet the chance to regroup and analyze whatever data it received from the battle, whether it be more efficient ways to kill Flood Forms or even gathering and using/reverse engineering Covenant Technology for its own use,

I think Palpatine's Ultimate Goal was to pet that dog on the head at the end of this video. Who wouldn't want to do that? :D
