FCG moment - explaining that they were named after Dancer's favourite smells and then listing the other automatons, failing that 'Smiley Day' always cheered me up. Sam's next character - Grog's cousin who ended up as leader of the goliath horde. Just to wind up Travis.
@@ZodiacBandit Oath of Ancients is probably top 3 or 4 Paladin subclass in general, depending on the campaign it you very well be the best subclass for example Ludiness and Vecna all their damage dealt would be halved
I think he could do a Fey Wanderer Ranger. They have healing spirit and cure wounds in their spell list plus he can summon Fey without concentration. They make great faces for character groups……. If they go back to the Fey wild it would be an easy pick up.
My recent favorite class is a Tragedy bard that doesnt use healing magic instead uses life transference along with wither and bloom and vampiric regeneration to heal and regain health..I also thought a Dhampir with their bite would also be a source of hitpoint gains.
Lucs age is fuzzy because in C2 matt said he was like 3 but he spoke as if he was 7-8. Which led to a lot of confusion for Sam who continually guessed Lucs age wrong because the cast never remembers anything. Lol So Lucs undetermined age has kind of become a running joke.
my hope is that he plays a new paladin character. he could be a healer, do a lot of damage, and also do something fresh for CR (we’ve never had a full paladin as a member of the main party, only Vax and Fjord who multiclassed)
Kaylee would be fun, but we’ve had so many past characters show up. and while i love getting to see old PCs again, i think there’s a balance that has to be maintained. BH needs to feel like its own group. that’s what made the first two campaigns so special. we knew they’re all in the same world and got to see some connections here and there, but they were separate enough to have their own breathing room for their stories. c3 has done well for the most part, but it feels like as time goes on it’s just inevitable that more past characters will enter the fold. whitestone has kinda become the BH safe haven. and you know every time they go back they’re gonna run into Percy at least. i’m also getting the feeling we’ll see Pike and Vex again since they’re both have personal stakes involving the malleus key. same goes for Keyleth who pretty much is BHs mentor now. point is, i’m down for having Sam play a returning character, but at the same time am cautious given how over saturated the returning cast is/will continue to be. ETA: theres also the M9! i don’t think they’ll be as directly involved as VM, but Beau and Caleb have personal beef and unfinished business with Ludinus, so.
The only way i think FCG's sacrifice woudlnt take away from the sacrifice would be to do it towards the end like how Mighty Nein restored Lucien to a clean slate. They could have a ritual or a quest that would allow FCG to be reborn but as a small boy, since there was always those Pinocchio jokes about him. He could maybe even choose a diferent name once he gets his new non construct body
I'd argue Oath of Ancients would be better, since we haven't had a Paladin as the core/main class yet, but we've had a monk. I'm pretty sure we've had every core class but the Paladin as a main/core.
Reincarnate _could_ be interesting if the body he is reincarnated into is a non-construct, that could make for some interesting character moments, kinda filling a whole Pinnochio "I'm a real boy" plot. But in general I think I agree that bringing FCG back would cheapen things. I do think you are dismissing Luc a little too easily. Sam played Luce recently and it was an interesting dynamic, and I think the youthful energy in BH would be fun. He's also a teen not 10 as you implied. He should be somewhere around 14, which is still a bit young. He was level 8 at the start of the reunion which occurred around Episode 51 of BH, which at the end of Episode 51 BH leveled up to level 9, meaning that he was right at the same level at BH at the same time.
I definitely can see Luc joining but honestly he fits M9 better and do you think Caleb would let him adventure around without him there to send him home if need be? Cause I don’t
Sam is the reason why I got into CR. FCG's death brought some life ironically into otherwise lame C3. So I hope he comes up with something that is more central to the plot. Laudna and Imogen make me want to barf, the focus on them key reason why C3 sucks.
Since the beginning it had been Liam O'Brien that has picked the race and class of Sam's characters, I would like to see what he has in mind to replace FCG. He/she/they could end up being a character that helps in solidifying Bell's Hells. Much like how Caduceus Clay helped make the Mighty Nien a better group in ways than Molly couldn't. I prefer seeing a new and original character rather than playing one that already exists.
Yes Liam picks Sam’s characters this is true from scanlan Nott and fcg but I’m almost positive it wasn’t the case for Taryon which was a replacement character I get the feeling this’ll be the same and Liam will be as surprised as the rest As far as his next character being a Caduceus and effecting the group in a different way I can definitely see that happening the bells need someone or something else that can unite them maybe fcg dying will do that but a new character could do it as well
I don't care at all what class he plays. The real question is what small race will be play? He's done gnome, goblin, halfling, and what more or less equates to an auto-gnome. Does he go kobold? Kender? Or does he go even smaller and go straight fairy?
A way to troll vex and vax could be with a battlesmith artificer with a steel defender shaped like a bear. The Defender has its own initiative turn which state can display as after theirs to clean up the initiative counter(how my party dose with my battlesmith). It has some healing and sam did play a artificer already so he would have a better understanding of it then other classes. And nobody but him has done any levels in artificer and terry didn't have anything I'll call his signature spell or ability as he only used items really. This could be D as well. Or a Drake Warden ranger the better beast master.
I wonder if he’d play another artificer especially if it’s not tary Also the drake warden is actually stupid good they really made good rangers after the PHB
@@ZodiacBandit true but the same can be said about Kaylie being a bard that is not Scanlan. And the steel defender bear could be called trinket as he made it out of trinkets he found and is trolling vex with a better trinket.
@@ZodiacBandit the interesting thing is that IF Sam played bard and Dorian comes back, can you imagine the shenanigans? The reason I haven’t considered Sam doing Paladin is how limiting Oaths can be, but in considering the ‘half’ caster classes for a potential pc for Sam, there are some sub wizards that could provide a unique feel, like the divine wizard with it’s portent dice pool
@zodiacbandit Ryloran Paladin! This would give the group another frontline fighter with healing and introduce a new player race from critical role. We already have a class in blood hunter, why not a race.
Thanks for the video. 👍🏾 1) Favorite FCG Moment: FGC Goes Berserk - C3 Ep. 31 ... 2) Sam's next character... I LOVE Luc Brennato but you made some great points as to why he wouldn't fit into BH. That being said, I really hope Sam doesn't play a character connected to a previous campaign. It would be nice to see something new from Sam. No more bards. I'm not familiar with the specifics of the different DnD classes but what about an artificer with some sort of Aeor connection, but not necessarily an aeormation. Like a worker or guard from one of the encampments near the Aeor wreckage.
I think it would be fun to see Sam play one of Scanlan and Pike's kids. He could play a Cleric or Cleric/Bard character. That way he is still connected to the Gods. Or if he wanted to be a total troll be one of Vex and Percy's kids. Fighter/Ranger would be deadly.
Kaylee works so well it hurts that I didn't see it the subclass she could be is critical role's tragedy bard as her life was tragic for a while so she could have turned her darkness into inspiration. They get back a bardic inspiration when someone rolls a nat 1 like how FCG got advantage when someone rolled a nat 20. They can turn saving throws to a charisma saving throw instead making there enemies possibly forced to use there dump stat for a important save either costing a legendary resistance or them failing. They could improve the critical hit chance. And all they is what she would already have as a level 6 tragedy bard here is what she gets next level. At 14 she can for 1 minute as a bonus action become a tragic hero and gain The creature has a +4 bonus to AC. It has advantage on attack rolls and saving throws. When the creature hits a target with a weapon attack or spell attack, that target takes an extra 1d10 radiant damage. Any weapon attack against the creature scores a critical hit on a roll of 18-20. I can definitely see Scanlan giving her myth carver as some way of helping her or some other magic sword. Or if sam wants a more up beat move set the valor bard works for her.
@@ZodiacBandit he most likely already has his next character made but that's a amazing subclass and as a level 13 bard she would have the magnificent mansion so that's safety when they go back to the moon
That’s the case for the first character of each campaign however I don’t think this is true for replacements like taryon sam picks replacements to surprise the whole table except Matt obviously so Liam more then likely won’t pick Sam’s new character
He said something about that but the exact age was never stated Matt said luv was super young in c2 and it’s been 6 years since then so I just said he’s like 8 probably closer to 10-12 with fey time shenanigans
I think they kept Lucs age vague for this exact reason.. I knew Sam was going to bring him in someday since he played him in that live show he did way back.. and when fcg went heroic psycho, I felt like this was IT!!
