My sister Jamie Owens,.Just told me about you and what you are going though. And I wanted to say you're an inspiration! Myself being a 26 year old who has battled AML twice. It all started in 2010. I was diagnosed in Turlock Ca near my home where I found out my white count was 84,000 and right away they transferred me to Stanford Hospital. Where I spent 5 months in patient going through chemotherapy. Then it went into remission until January of 2012. It came back with a vengeance. I was there for 9 months that time. I had to go through 4 different types of chemotherapy and one pill form of chemotherapy. Part way through the pill chemo we found out that the headaches I was having was from a cyst in my brain that began to swell. I had to stop the chemo to let my blood counts come up high enough to have brain surgery to remove it. Had the surgery March 1st, 4 days before my 21st birthday. Once I recovered I had to start chemo again. Once chemo was done I had to have full body radiation for six weeks. Just to prepare for transplant..And had to have a stem cell transplant.. My sister (Jamie Owens) was a perfect 10/10 match. I had my transplant May 23rd of 2012. Then had to spend 100 more days there for my counts to go back up to normal and to keep the GVHD (graft v.s host disease. My body fighting my sister's cells.) And since then I am still in remission! :) since then I've had to have two total hip replacements left and right I've had my right shoulder replaced and stem cell therapy to both of my knees. Thanks to all the steroid and chemotherapy and other medications that I had to be on. But I'm still here still fighting and I'm here another day. So to see someone as positive as you knowing personally what you are going through. You are a huge inspiration! So I thank you! Keep on keeping on!

We've had a few busy days here at Casa O'Brien, so I've been away from the laptop a bit. It's still crazy busy with us, but I'll take a little time here to jot a few thoughts. I think the addition of "the piglet" is great on a few different levels. Just the expressions on her face and her energy add another layer of fun and entertainment for the vlog. The storyline with a new family member is thicker and far more colorful. Lots of us are pet owners and can relate to that part of rich family life that a four legged family member brings to the mix. Congrats on that! Also, having a pet brings a great sense of mental and spiritual well being, which can lead to physical healing. We have a family friend who has had a rough go of things with cancer and they've added a new golden lab to their family. Juno has given them so much more than can be simply counted. I see the bounce in their steps and smiles on the faces of everyone in that family when she's just running around or lying under their table during dinner. I hope you have the same feelings with "the piglet"... Buldit... or Blue... or whatever you call her today. The giveaways are a grand idea. I think you've got the right perspective in all of this. We give to others in order to be a part of life. When we give of ourselves, whether it centers on giving "things" to others or our time and attention, we get far more out of the deal. Unfortunately, society has warped a lot of us into "transactional giving" with the overriding philosophy of "WIFM"... What's in it for me.... I'll give of myself or time only if there is an equal or greater return for my efforts. I think that type of thinking shortchanges everyone. We lose a lot of who we are when we let our own selfishness and self interest determine how we relate to other people around us. I actually think that giving the way you are will positively affect your mental and spiritual outlook, which is intertwined with your physical health. Just my two cents... So, in the end... the best medicine for all of us is giving love. We love and cherish those animals that become part of our families. We feed, take care of their needs, and give them the attention they crave. They return these things with unconditional love that is hard to find among fellow humans. That bond is very hard to beat. Add to that, giving of your time, talents, and possessions to others... That gives deep meaning to life. A dog and giveaways are a combination of strong medicine. You heard it here first. You're taking the actions that create a healthier today for yourself. On that note, I've got to go feed the cats. Keep on keepin' on!

I remember when I and my friends went to PGH, Philippine General Hospital, to make a video interview for a website with the cancer patients parents to raise awareness for cancer. After the interview, we went around the upper levels of the hospital, even though the place is well lit, the place seems dark, and depressing. We gave food to the kids and while I was there I was hiding my tears so they wouldn't see it and feel sad, I've never felt like that ever before ,right now while I'm typing this, it makes my heart break, I always wonder how they now, if they're still here with us. What I love about that place is that even though they suffer, they still have a smile on their faces and staying positive .

Hi Kuya, Your job as a RU-vidr Wil has really changed me as a person. Back in 2016, I was not very down-to-earth. My life changed when I watched your videos in April of 2016. I was shy, and not very into YouTubing, but your videos brought me to life. There has been a bit of a learning curve in getting started, I had to make drastic changes to my personality, which were for the better. I became more lively. You have one of the toughest jobs, on Earth, at least I think, mentally, and I admire you for taking the leap of putting your life out there. When I first went to the Philippines for vacation upang bisitahin ang aking pamilya (from the east coast woot woot!) I was excited every time my dad would pass Makati. This summer I went to San Francisco to visit family so I believe it is truly ironic how my life as kind of overlapped in a way of discovering new things, people, and places at the same time (I even have memories of Pagudpud with my family and I was glad to see us having both gone there). This Joby pod would mean to me not just a physical item but my connection to you and I am glad you were there for me to discover the true meaning of Filipino happiness, a kind of happiness that everyone on Earth deserves.
