This was a great informative video! I think it would be really fun to see a “what I spend in a week as an aupair” I feel like that would be fun to see cause I don’t even think I can fully grasp how much 200 dollars is worth cause idk how much things cost in the US/Ohio

It's seems like l have found guidelines about Au pair. Most of questions I have been asking myself over and over have been answered by you. Thanks again coz the videos I have been watching about Au pair didn't bring out the clear image of Au pair . Like what they do and so on as in this is very clear. I wish everyone who wants to become an Au pair in future could first watch this 🥰

love the advice you gave, Charne! I'd like to know how many calls/interviews did it take for you to make a contract with your host family? And how was the experience of the communicating between -after deciding they'll be your host family and you their au pair- to -meeting them in person-? Was it consistent? I've set my eyes on one potential host family and I'd like to be with them and can't seem to find the right method to keep them interested still throughout the long wait of visa processing :(
It took about 5 facetime calls , we did text each other in-between calls. I think it’s also a good idea to send pictures of what you have been up to. I would also text them updates while waiting for my visa , sending pictures of where I started packing and asking if they would like any specific gift from my country.

There are different companies that offer classes. I worked through Au Pair Weekend and Au Pair Classroom. I did a drama and performing arts class, Fashion Business Management and Digital Marketing. You can go on their websites and see what classes they offer. You need a total of 6 credits per year. ;)
Host families pay for your plane ticket to and from your home at the beginning and end of your Au Pair program. Any other traveling tickets you pay for yourself.
Me and my host mom usually team together to tackle the cleaning. I think it is a good question to ask your host family , if they have someone coming in to clean the house. Cleaning definitely takes up a good chunk of my day 🧼
