My grandfather smoked like a chimney (and drank whiskey like a sailor) for over 70 years, sometimes up to two packs a day. He never got any kind of cancer. He passed in the early 1990s, possibly before widespread changes in the chemicals introduced into tobacco pesticides. You're right. Something has changed.

We've heard countless stories like this. Although we don't advocate smoking anything, it's true that not everyone who smokes is susceptible to lung or other cancers. Perhaps your grandfather was one of the lucky ones. Nonetheless, something has changed, either environmentally or societally, that's causing some strange health problems today. Hate to think that we'll be reading about whatever mistake that was in 20 years.

Fresh looks a little like my dentist. Great stuff guys. Proud of you for not selling out to big pharma and going down the medical road for the good of everyone.

Interesting. Especially the higher incidence of breast cancer and colorectal cancer since the late 1990s. The only things that have changed since then are GMOs in food, more effective pesticides, and the explosion of cell phones.

That is an interesting connection, Jesus. Statistically, we have been seeing a lot more younger people suffering from IBD and Crohn's in our offices over the past decade. We didn't make that connection, but I'll bring it up with the physician's group in this week's meeting.

Hate to be labeled a 'conspiracy theorist,' but absent any other fundamental environmental changes, the current evidence seems to point in that direction.

Thank you for making this video. I am especially thankful he said it’s OK to do a Google search before talking to your doctor. My doctor always tells me not to look online but I think he is wrong.

Always always ALWAYS learn as much as you can BEFORE you speak with any physician! You need to have an intelligent conversation about your health. You may become aware of findings or innovations your physician isn't yet aware of. They get busy and complacent just like the rest of us. And, if your doctor has the all too typical "God complex," he's not listening to you. FIND SOMEONE ELSE. No offense intended, but in our experience, female physicians seem to be better listeners.

Your doctor sounds like a real jerk. Offense intended.

Well, I suppose this is classier than meeting someone in a bar.

I am confused. Does this doctor believe mammogram screenings are not a good idea? Why?

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4582264/ Thank you for asking that question. Here is a case study regarding mammograms, and I hesitate because I believe the patients individual risks should be considered first if it is necessary. Evidence to over-diagnosis of cancer that isn’t there, it could rupture tumors and cause spreading, and damage breast tissue. A mammogram looks for calcifications and masses. It is important to make sure you do not have calcifications any where in the body - look at the diet -is there enough potassium to balance the calcium? A calcium score blood test would be a good start.

In some cases, the psychological harms of screening can be substantial and long-lasting, and they affect a large number of women, as the cumulative risk of a false-positive result after 10 mammograms is in the range of about 20% to 60%. And, according to the ACS, a false-negative mammogram looks normal even though breast cancer is present. Overall, screening mammograms miss about 1 in 8 breast cancers. Read this: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4582264/ and this: www.cancer.org/cancer/breast-cancer/screening-tests-and-early-detection/mammograms/limitations-of-mammograms.html

Interesting. A lot of false negatives and stress inducing false positive results. Mammogram is not the silver bullet savior it’s touted to be.
