This new Type R is a definite improvement on the old model, especially in terms of styling 😲😃. Pitting this up against the RS3 and A45 would be pretty cool to see. Another awesome review Sid 😄
Good video! I suspected the FL5 Type R to be one of these truly special cars one would actually consider buying in a minute. Hearing from you this kind of high praise solidified this thought. Any chance you will do a video with a GR86? Would love to hear your thoughts on this one as well! Cheers✌️
Love the FL5, very pricy but a pure drivers car, so much more involving than typical Bradford mush RS3 for the same money would love to get behind the wheel

You my friend... Depict exactly how I experience cars. I've had the Fiesta ST (2014), 2014 Opel Astra OPC (Vauxhaul Astra VXR to you), and the 2019 Megane RS Cup... And the best experience for me was the ST. CRACKING! car... The bigger hatches dampen the feel a bit. I for one hate the 4 wheel drive varients. But, the feel when pushing on in the ST is second to none. An absolute riot. Thank you for doing what you do mate. For not getting into too much manufacturer detail and sharing your feel and emotion of cars. Brilliant!!!
Def wanna see a RS3, A45S and Civic compare. Throw in a GR Yaris just for good measure if you could please. I own a GR Yaris and a Morizo Edition GR Corolla so I'd be keen to see how this thing goes up against that lot, as I'm seriously considering adding this Civic to my stable. Cheers
Hi Sid Yeah great review. Just a few things might need clarification. Only seats 4 not 5 as you stated. Also you said no longer available (to buy). With respect probably depends where you live albeit would concede they are difficult to come by and there seems to be waiting lists in many if not all markets. Btw I picked up one in Sydney, Australia in February and simply adore it! Cheers. Harry
I have heard from a couple of mechanics in Japan that a big downside of these cars is a relatively flimsy spot-welded chassis. While they handle brilliantly when new, track one for a year and it’s done.
Those mechanics must be Chinese lol The FD2 used the same process glue instead of welds and its still fine after 10 years. You really thibk Japanese people would make something unworthy!
You did promise a car that would topple the almighty Clubsport S and the Type R does certainly deliver! Can't wait to get behind the wheel of one, you make that precise gearshift sound almost magical.
Great review, arguably the best hot hatch on sale. The price is steep though. The FN2 type R really aren't that bad at all. Especially for the money they can be had for.
i have a RS3 8V.2 stage 3 and i drove a Fk8 and really loved it :) nice to see you think this is even better...i might have to change haha and it will be more reliable for sure than the Audi
The Type R thing is not for me but coming from Sid is a clear indication that it isa good hot hatch which is hardly surprising considering Honda antecedent!
Soon come FL5! Looking forward to my upgrade from the FK2 soon, the FL5 is in another league compared to an RS3 or A45S they are fast yes, but it's just floor it and go no drama no excitement, they get launched into oblivion farting up the road everywhere they go😂😂😂 a FK2 is not a subtle car but when I'm making progress I'm waaaaay under the radar compared to the German hatchbacks, would love to see a comparison on track just to see what the difference is 👌👍 Make it happen Sid 👉👀💯
Well said. I’ve recently picked up my FL5 and I feel like every RS3/A35/45 owner wants to blast me at the lights to prove some kind of point. Could care less. For me it’s about engagement and how the car makes you feel not who can floor it the fastest at the lights.

The FK CTR drives like it should be wearing a Porsche badge. Unfortunately the engine note leaves much to be desired because it's devoid of character. If I could have the CTR with the personality of the Veloster N it would be perfect.
Looks like it's too manic for our speed camera loaded roads. Both in the UK and here in Melbourne where 1kmh over a limit is huge fines and demerit points. Great colour combo.
Sick car, but the price tag puts me off. The FK8 is far more appealing to me.. but going from your last video, could you get a MK5 VW GTI and modify it to be as quick for a fraction of the cost? Probably

@@0117NUMBER1 Not to blow smoke up Sid’s arse but he is a driving god. The level of car control this kid has and from what I can tell that he doesn’t come from a racing background is truly something else. Sid is more of a rival to Misha than Drive Dave - he’s truly that good. His ability to just jump in any car and drive straight up to the limit is something else. I just wished that Sid uploaded more videos on RU-vid because there’s no doubt that he would hit a million subs!

These honda type rs keep gettn RAVE reviews and have been for years...there isnt one BAD review about the last 3 versions....but honda have let theselves down by making them so ugly.....if not so badly designed they would have sold 3 times more of them.
It looks way better than the last one, more grown up but that being said, it's too expensive, not faster than the previous one, still a 2l fart machine and still fwd.
