Good video. The rack-point motion is also used to intuitively point the gun accurately at the target so you can fire without a sight picture. What people get wrong is why Israelis use this method. It has historical reasons but they are irrelevant today. Cops, guards, or in high threat places, people will carry one in the chamber. But ordinary citizens are far more likely to accidentally discharge than to be in a situation where they can’t rack-point the gun. Israelis are not worried about an armed mugger that jumps them - they are worried about terrorism and of a terrorist that will try to snatch their gun from the holster. Generally they carry the gun to protect people around them, not necessarily themselves. By far the most cases in which civilians stopped a terrorist they were not the particular target of the attack and controlled fire was more important than a fast draw with one hand. Given the above, for Israeli civilians there is little added value to carry in the chamber, versus the safety of not doing so. And in case the attack starts by the attacker reaching for your holster, it gives you a better chance to fight him off before he shoots you with your own gun - without him having to rack it himself.
One additional point. From the holster, in the Israeli method, the weapon is brought to eye level to rack and at the same time start sighting down the weapon. They push/rack the weapon into firing position as you twist it vertical. Hey, you can even fire the first round ghetto style sideways. Another you tuber pointed out that policie studies show that about 50% of the officer shooting are ONE HANDED. He says it called a hand gun not a handS gun. So upon racking at eye level you are ready to fire without bringing the non dominant hand into play. So all the isosceles practice at the range only represents 50% of the probable way you will shoot in a self defense situation. And most self defense shootings are inside 12' You should be able to hit center mass unsighted at that distance.
I am a beginner with a CCW and starting with Israeli carry until I build experience & confidence in the weapon. I will be practicing the draw, rack & fire over the coming months. One thing you didn’t cover is positively identifying the level of the threat. It’s great to be able to fire quickly. But it can easily become a fatal, life changing mistake in the heat of the moment… No Regrets!!!
You should watch my video on “if you are going to carry I have one question for you” great comment about threat levels. I’ll cover that in a new video soon. Thanks for watching
Basically your explanation is correct. however the entire racking process is don at chin level in order to point the weapon into the target within the FOV
It's actually a little bit different than what you're showing they bring the firearm up to their line-of-sight sideways and rack it as they present it out
That's correct, the point to the video was that racking the weapon must be fluid from draw to target acquisition and not a separate step or action. Depending on the unit the Israeli soldier serves in also depends on if they carry one in the pipe or not. Thanks for commenting.
Great info, thanks for sharing. Are you able in time to make a quick close up video of hands racking slide, would be even more help. Also, are there any DA semi auto pistols that rack easier than others? I've felt FN 509 M is close to easiest to me.
Just posted a racking video for you. Every semi auto pistol racks differently. Some easier than others. It really comes down to personal preference. It may be easier to rack but doesn't feel right in the hands. Keeping the slid lubed and clean, keeps it running smooth. Thanks for commenting.
It’s a very good and sensible system if you feel carrying one in chamber is not safe. It takes some training, but once you have the basics correct it’s a quick and effective alternative to the US/UK method
@@JayB-bq7hh I’m working on some new videos I’ve just taking some time to enjoy life a little more these days. I don’t know much about Paul Harrell but I’m saddened by the loss hopefully his brother will carry on his legacy.
Carrying hot in Israel is illegal . Carrying 1 up with a Glock is a gamble , 1 million Glock owners in the USA at 0.1% accident oops rate is 360,000 accidental discharges per year .
I always Carry with 1 in the pipe, I Would Never carry any other way. It goes back to my Law Enforcment days. And, I always stand for the Flag and Neal for the Cross........... Amen. 🙏🏽
Due to observing a misfire, I'll never sit holstered on certain furniture or have a cart' piped down but also observing today's daughters are more liable to bring home Collin Kaperknick or a future Raider home for prom or dates, I can see the need for one ready to go but, if I didn't have important people with me for example I'd rather have my remmy that holds only 5 max compared to my mossy who holds much more. but what's the point? The only tools that can hold enough to eventually catch a seething agile bath salt zombie are limited by the gov 🤦🏻♂️ I guess it's all contingent upon liability Godspeed yall. 🍺
