What you need to know about your new 2022 civic wipers! 

I was kind of with you on this when I first saw it, but I'm seeing advantages to the sprayer being where it is: Having the fluid spray right in front of the wipers as it moves puts the wiper fluid right where you need it without spraying it all over the hood, in peoples eyes, and showering around the car like some of the old ones. However, you should have a sprayer on both wipers, all of our civics do. Maybe the one is plugged? Take it in to your dealership to have it checked out.

You are correct it’s the worst set up I’ve ever seen. More people need to complain! This is going to be a safety issue.

@@cathyatterracehonda9491 the set up keeps the fluid on the drivers side and nothing on passenger side. It does not spray until the wiper is straight up and down on the left side of the wiper. The passenger side of the Winshield does not get cleaned! Honda needs to fix this and it’s going to be a safety concern! It’s a great car and I love mine but this is a real issue. It sucks! Worst I’ve seen!

@Jeff Higgins, take it to your dealer for realignment or replacement because it should work just as well as the driver's side.

I agree I have 2022 civic touring and hate the wipers, passenger side already needs to be replaced. Anyone else having trouble with their wireless charger when using an iPhone with MagSafe?

Oh no! Well its a learning curve with this feature that's for sure.

I agree. I mean this isn't difficult to use, but it certainly is different...dare I say we are creatures of habit? :)

I have an Si, on it the wipers appear to disengage when the car is off so you can just manually rotate them out from under the cowl when washing the car or need to lift the blades.

I would take it to your dealership and have them check it out. It might be a faulty line or something.

It can be rather hard to see the liquid coming out because it sprays directly in front of the moving wipers. This system saves you about 40% on wiper fluid from previous designs. However, you should see your windows becoming cleaner as you use it. If this isn't happening, go to your dealership to have the nozzles checked and make sure they are working properly.

The SI is a manual only vehicle, always has been, always will be. It's made as a higher performance vehicle for the everyday person. It is a 1.5L turbo, 4 cyl and 200 HP @ 6000 rpm. It has 192 lb.-ft of torque @ 1800-5000 rpm. Please note that it takes high octane fuel for this vehicle as compared to all other Honda's with regular fuel. Hey Ralph, so I have an answer for you finally. Yes, at this point you will need a specific wiper for the new civics. I'm guessing at this point whether it will apply to the new CRV and Pilot upgrades. So, this is not an update I'm happy about. You cannot, at this point, just insert a new rubber blade at an inexpensive amount, as one might imagine, with what we are used to from previous generations of Honda's, plus Canadian winters and needing to replace these items somewhat regularly. You actually have to get the whole wiper assembly with the blade and bar, to attach to the arm. So I would get on the phone to Honda Customer Service, and start voicing your opinion. The more of us there are, the quicker we might be able to get them to change this. I like and can find the good in most new things, but this one isn't one of them. It's pricey, and just unnecessary.

Yes, absolutely! As far as I know, they all have them. :)

That I'm not sure of. I do know it requires replacing the whole wiper blade, it's not just an insert anymore. I would take it to your dealership and ask them to show you how to do it properly. With the new design, you would want to make sure you weren't breaking the spray nozzles or lines while doing it.

Hi @Lee Lee, yes the spray is set to come out right ahead of the wipers, and reduces waste and overspray about 40%. It's rather different from what we are used to, but it should still work well.

@Jeff Higgins, take your car in to your dealership, and have them readjust the nozzle on the passenger side. It should cover evenly and just as well as the driver's side.

No, I haven't gotten a tutorial from the techs in the back yet.

It should spray evenly, the ones I've tried seem to be ok. Take it to your dealer and make sure your nozzles aren't faulty.
