So, I am Russian but moved to Canada around ~2 years ago and watching these interviews hurt a lot... personally to me, the way they all answer, the way they sway and change the theme it's all so unbelievably familiar. Even if many of the people accept the state of things their answers just seem off and I can say for sure that I'd answer in exactly same way, even if I was against the government. Whether subconsciously or consciously the fear of persecution for your opinions always persisted, and growing up I tended to pick up the habits from other people - to always sway from difficult questions, never say anything definitively negative in regards to government and etc. It's only now after moving out I've started to see just how prevalent this culture of "endure, but never speak up" is at home. It's not unique to modern Russia either, I think we've adopted it from people who lived in USSR, who also adopted it from previous generations. So tl;dr things are a complete mess.

It's just difficult to do with mainstream media, and I think a channel where you ask the people, on the streets, of all age groups, questions about the realities of the situation they unwillingly find themselves in and seek their true opinions is something to be valued. I'd say these "young" people are much more intelligent than the ones I see in the West... more serious, adult like, more mature for their age... that is a blessing, it means they are not spoiled... they may not see the value, but when they get older it will serve them well... it is always a good idea to start thinking seriously as quickly as you can... especially in this world that we are living in...

@@sigma_six Do you have much to do with young people? I do. I am a Teacher. The youth of today are incredible. They have strong, clear, well thought out opinions. They see baby boomers as have fkd the planet for them and have really grave concerns about its liveability for their future. They have to juggle responsibilities and social dilemmas ina,way my age never had to. They know their place in the world far better than my generation did in the '80s. We had free university, jobs grew on trees, housing was affordable and climate change was not even mentioned, even though we know now it was already well on its way. In Georgia we protected civilians of South Osetia that were killed by Georgian army (which attacked first). In 2015 we signed Minsk agreements with Ukraine to avoid big conflict and stop the war there. It was very simple - all territories stay in Ukraine but their government guarantees safety of Russian-speaking East of Ukraine and their right to speak their language. However, Ukraine wasn't interested in that at all. It is perfectly known fact that we will not allow NATO to be so close to our borders but they are strongly willing to do so. Ukraine wanted to gain from the West - and this is the result. Ukrainian government knew what would happen and they did what they did. The West continued to supply Ukraine with weapons instead of forcing them to act in accordance with Minsk agreements. They failed another agreement in Turkey in 2022. The US support any war that allows them to gain. And we perfectly see who is doing what. So we have no need to say anything against current foreign policy of our government that is doing everything to protect our country along it's borders. We dod not want our soldiers to die anywhere but the West was hardly working on organising another war conflict away from their own lands. We just have nothing to do but respond. That's it. P.S. Gulags were ceased by Nikita Khrushchev who was replaced in 1964.

They all should have excellent infrastructure and well paying careers. They do not have these things because the political elites are stealing from the people. We know what's going on? From this video all we know that's going on is that young Russians are not at all switched on politically and seem to have no idea what Russian Forces are doing in Ukraine.
