In wet food some are good and some are ehh but if you want you’re cat a good wet food pay attention to the ingredients like wheat corn gluten salt and soy are the main ones that you shouldn’t get, Instead get the ones that don’t have those ingredients If it’s still confusing or hard I get The Nulo wet food it’s for both cat and kittens, Ziwi cat wet food, Fancy feast classic Pate is alright, Nacho wet food and For treats I get ‘ Freeze Dried Chicken ‘ I get them from petmart

There is also tiki cat dark chicken and quail egg it’s good!! but for me and What I’ve seen from some people ( NOT ALL ) but some cats didn’t like it n mine didn’t really either sadly but there’s more of tiki cat that’s good and you can try, Don’t feed them a lot of fish though. I’ve also heard about raw food that it needs to be real meat I’m still trying on that too right now im on wet food n I’ve learning more

Thank you! This was very helpful. My family just adopted a 1 year old cat and we are trying to find correct information about cat foods. There are a lot of contradictions about it out there. I have been quite surprised. I have been giving her science diet digestion because the vet recommended it. It’s a kibble type. I would like to get her on a canned diet. I saw your other video about a few brands like Rawz and I think Instinct. I thought I would give them a try. Perhaps when I learn more we can try a bit of raw food too.

I've had my cats for almost three months. They were in the shelter--eating non-grain-free kibble--from 3 months old to 6 months old. One of my first goals was to transition them to all-wet. I finally got them to eat an all-wet diet, and then I took them to get their FLV second doses, and the vet told me to give them *some* kibble because they were still too small 😭 (4/9 BCS, but hadn't grown much in 2 months). The vet also said that most cats are obese because they eat dry food. Right now they're eating all sorts of commercial foods mixed with homemade in an attempt to get them to grow. I might always have to mix at least a little canned wet with homemade--I'm having trouble getting the texture right, and have all the good nutrients, but I don't have the ability to do whatever the corporations do to put 500 calories in an ounce

Same here. My cat is currently on Hills Urinary c/d canned for FIC, and, reading the ingredients on the can makes me sick. I understand about pH (6-6.5), magnesium/calcium/phosphorus need to be negligible, and low ash. But there are so many non-meat/carb-heavy ingredients included. Also, why prescribe kibble to a cat with urinary issues??

@@HeronCoyote1234 YES I need a video on this as well. My cat has had two uti/crystal bouts now that required antibiotics. He has been on the Hills CD urinary care kibble since his first crystal problem, but he won't eat the canned stuff, so I have had to feed him a variety of good canned food such as weruva and wellness and others, as my cats like variety. But he ended up with another uti and crystals this past month. Now I am questioning if the kibble is really helpful at all.

Hey! Thanks for confirming pretty much what infos I gathered through the years! Was wonderind though whats the difference between raw and cooked meat: is there a big difference on the benefits for their health? My cats prefer cooked normally but if the difference is significant, i'll try giving them more raw. Also, is mixing raw and kibble dangerous? First, I've being told that you have to wait for their stomach to be out of kibbles before giving raw (because they digest raw faster and kibbler could slowing the digestion so it's dangerous to stay in the stomach longer) but last year I've heard differently. That's one of the reason I cooked the meat I fed them. Can you give me your take regarding this? Just so you know: I feed them kibbles freely (N/D Farmina Urinary cause one of them also had a urinary blocage a few years ago, but not on that food) and I try to give them once a day or every two days, I mix of wet food with lyophilized meat and always had water to the mix. Now I'm trying to give them meat as well, raw or cooked.

The biggest difference between cooked and raw meat is the nutrients and enzymes that can be damaged or destroyed during the cooking process. If you cats prefer cooked meat, try lightly cooking it to preserve some of those nutrients and digestive enzymes! We are currently in a Pet Food Renaissance, and we are constantly learning new things about what we should be feeding our pets and how. I talked to Roxanne Stone, the founder of Answers Raw Pet Food, and asked her the same question about feeding kibble with raw. In the last few years we have found that feeding both together is totally safe.

I really want to feed my cat better food but she quit eating wet food and turns her nose I’ve tried so many brands and she just not interested and whenever I make chicken for my dog (who has a fresh cooked diet) I take a tiny shred of chicken and offer it to my cat and she could care less about it also she likes to eat periodically through the day, she doesn’t have a meal time which she likes and even treats, she will only eat temptations which I know are horrible for her so my question is how do I get her to like any food that isn’t kibble and what do I do? Hi there I’ve got a 21 week old Maine coon kitten. Breeder free fed it on Royal Canin kitten dry food and then small portions of Thrive Kitten canned chicken (I’m in 🇬🇧). We noted he had really bad wind from day 1. His poos are generally HUGE but flat! We tried to reduce the dry and increase the wet gradually but then he has very very runny poos. We were wondering if the wet food was too rich so stopped it and his poos are starting to solidify again…slowly. We really don’t know what to do as we want him to have the best diet and we know dry food isn’t it. Do you have any suggestions please? Cheers x

I make my cats cat food. I take lean beef, chicken, chicken liver, salmon, low sodium tuna, spinach and low sodium broth. I cook it down in a crock pot then pressure can it. I mix and match the meats for different flavors but I add the liver and spinach to it all. What else should I add to it? For my cats I will add a little water to their food in their bowl for extra gravy. I also have a bowl under the bathtub faucet with a continuous slow drip. They are always walking around with wet heads lol. They are almost 17. Thanks. I want to make sure my recipe is good and healthy.

I gave my cats three different water fountains. They seemed to enjoy them with one problem. One cat seemed curious about how they worked. Within minutes of filling water fountain and starting it up, he would start messing with it and wouldn't stop until he had it taken apart. Then he'd dump the water. Finally he'd turn to me and cry because his "toy" was broken. I had no choice but to give them a spill proof bowl. Is there a way to curb the behavior my cat is exhibiting, so I can give them their water fountain back? Thanks.

Sardines are a great source of taurine and an excellent "add to"! Nutrisource Choice and Firstmate Skoki are two really great, budget-friendly lines from manufacturers that have really great sourcing. Hope this helps!

Hi! I am feeding my cat an Asian brand of kibble, unfortunately a lot of the brands you mentioned in your kibble ranking video is not widely available in my country (except of course, purina, hills, and royal canin 🙄). The first five ingredients are chicken meal, corn, fish meal, chicken oil, beef pulp, flaxseed. Do you know what chicken 'oil' and beef 'pulp' is in the pet food industry? I am now really worried about my cat food and looking for alternatives. I mix the kibble with the happycat wet food. Though considering just giving them chicken or fish on my own. is all kind of fish safe for cat?

Hey there, you can consult with a pet nutritionist near you or you should feed your cat a high protein ,grain free and also a carb free diet. Carbs are not essential for cats. You can buy foods online like acana, ziwi peak, nature's variety instincts. These all companies make high quality food using fresh meat and no corn,rice or gluten. These are just best . Nature's variety instincts wet food is just the best. Just go for these. Don't feed ur cat low quality wet food or dry food.

I try feeding my cat more wet than dry food, leaving the kibble for nibbles once he finishes his days portion. So should kibble be out of the frame completely? I know it isn’t ideal for them but I’m not getting a full picture of how bad it is, I want to give my baby the best I can afford but that might not be the best she can get, so is kibble really that dangerous or bad? You will want to find that middle ground where the meat is cooked enough to kill any harmful bacteria, but not overcooked to retain as much nutrients and moisture as possible.

What brand do you use for your cats now that Life’s Abundance does not sell any? I just used last the last can I had to feed my cats. My boys have had nothing else in their lives. Life’s Abundance refuses to tell me a substitute to give my cats in the interim until they can supply their wet food. The more meat and moisture you are able to add, the better! I will have a canned cat food tier list out in the next few weeks, but anything free of corn, wheat, soy, and most importantly by-products is a great place to start!

Depending on what flavor the food is usually fish flavors are the most addictive but even then chicken etc is as well. The food companies process the kibble a lot and won't be appetizing without adding in things like flavor enhancements. So the cats get used too it and it's kinda like eating biscuits all the time. Maybe try a wet food with a broth like a soupy type texture or a wet food with a freeze dried topper may help. Sometimes the cat prefers a pate or shreds which are more meaty.

The only reason why I have them eat kibble in mornings is because I’m worried about tooth decay from raw and wet food in the afternoons. What are other ways I can get them to clean their teeth without kibble so I can switch to fully wet/raw?

I often see that raw organic eggs yolks are good to add in a measured raw food recipe for cats - but then I also read about the dangers of egg yolks on cats. What are you thoughts on this matter ?

I'm unsure what you may have read about the dangers of egg yolks. Egg whites, when fed alone and in large portions, can have negative effects of the cat's biotin supply, but the biggest concern with egg yolks is the high calorie and high fat.

Hello, my vet told me that grain must be included in a cat food because grain can prevent heart disease. I am currently feeding my cat a freeze dried food brand called SMACK, which is grain free. would it be a good idea to add some grains, such as oats?

I'd be interested in the evidence to support that claim because quite frankly that makes no sense. Unfortunately, cancer is becoming more and more common but to blame it on a raw diet seems like a stretch to say the least.

@@TheTattooedDogTrainer thank you for replying 😍 They don't actually have some proof or evidence for that statement because no other cat ever get cancer in my town , and they look up to dog case which coincidentally also feeds with raw So they draw the conclusion that raw food with high protein content is the problem 😵 They say Chicken, beef or any red meat is a big no no for her or the cancer relapse

Please Please No Time to Waste ❣️ tell me the best wet food to feed my Kitties 😻🙏🏼 I am researching label upon label and there's always some kind of guar gum xanthan gum I know to exclude Carneegen. I know that's a percentage of protein and fat especially is very important right now is they develop at 8 weeks old. Please send me a suggestion even a single one that has none of this garbage. Please please every time I feed them something I know there's an ingredient in there that I would like to extract, and it hurts my heart terribly 💔 Thank you 😢 looking at core, wilderness, tiki cat baby, Royal canin mother and baby mousse. In the shelter they fed them Purina One kitten food and science diet kitten kibble. They gave me a bag of science diet using very little of it. Mostly wet and I add water to the dry.

Have you looked into bioaccumulation/biomagnification? Also, what makes you believe that a meat-based diet (often times sourced from high-fat, domesticated and factory-farmed animals) is best for cat nutrition and health? What information, evidence or studies led you to this conclusion? I understand that in natural/ wild environments, cats are obligate carnivores (who consume LEAN, wild animals), however in human care, many have been reclassified to herbivores or at most HYPOcarnivores since the most common cat food fed to cats tends to be primarily a plant-based (particularly "FLAVOR" "WITH" labeled cat food). The scientific definition of an obilgate or HYPERcarnivore is an organism that depends on animals for at least 70% of its diet. Have you seen studies that show that a meat-based diet is suprior to a plant-pure diet where BOTH are formulated to be nutritionally sound, complete, balanced and meet the standard for nutrition by AAFCO(or similar agency)? The plant- pure diet would contain much less bioaccumulation since these man-made cancer-causing toxins are lipo-phylic and bioaccumulate up the food chain, concentrating in the small bodies of our cats. There's also a concern with heavy metals like mercury. I have a haunch this is a major cause for diseases in our pets. I am curious about your thoughts? :-)
