I used to be a fan of Instinct but not anymore. I fed my cat original for quite a while, but probably about 3 years ago or so they changed the formula a lot without any warning on the label or anything. I know because it looked different when I opened the can and my cat got violently sick and would not eat it again. I looked at the new can vs the old can and it was very different. I don't remember all the specifics now other than a changing beef as a second ingredient to pork, but it looks like they have changed it again. I don't think the clay was there the last time I checked. I contacted the company at the time, and they did not respond.
I have a French Bulldog that was born with it and he is fine and yes it is a great conversation starter! I had chosen him before we knew his eyes were different but am now glad he has it!
I assume the Weruva Cats In The Kitchen line would also be in the Hell Yeah group?? My cats hated FirstMate but love Tiki Cat, Cats In The Kitchen (except pumpkin) and Fussie Cat. Wellness does too many Pates and my cats like texture. I also avoid anything that has "gravy" on the label.
What did you expect if you feed your animal only one type of kibble. Man never eats just one thing no matter how great it is, but does just fine on scraps without counting amino acids. I'm not convinced that peas and potatoes are automatically better than grain. Plant seeds are similar. I love to eat peas myself. They are fuss free. But I also eat grain. We also use bread to hold meatballs together, and to stretch the meat. Dogs have adapted to eat what humans eat. Grain free kibble from Primordial tastes great, except it is short on salt and basic spices for human palate. It has 70% animal origin materials, a mixture of two animals. They probably grind up whole fish with heads and bones and maybe abdomen.
I like that it’s human grade. That’s kinda a must. And I don’t understand when you said, you’d rather see sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes, because they have less sugar??? The sweet potato has 14X the sugar that a russet has. They are both nutritious. Nothing wrong with the russet potatoes
So my cats, a big giant Maine coon and he’s chunky and he needs to lose weight. His vet has him on a prescription diet digestive care ID and he’s been on it for a year and I haven’t seen any changing weight. he has one can of cat food a day and a small bowl of the dry and he just picks up that he doesn’t eat much of it. Do you have any suggestions for me? He likes chicken he’s very very picky.
My dog has had chronic on and off diarrhea and vomiting and stomach issues since he was a baby we have fed him purina pro, royal canin and hills science diet. Our vet’s don’t listen they keep saying he’s probably fine and we can’t switch him because pancreatitis but I really think it’s caused by these awful foods he doesn’t have any other treats or issues I know it’s these foods and no one will listen. I am going to look into Nutrisource thank you.

Between My 4 cats any tiki or weruva ends in puking all over, they won't touch fussie cat, and hardly touch nulo or rawz. I probably tried 15 different brands (all good quality) and settled on FF T&G Pate, PurinaOne Premium Chicken/Turkey Pate. Instict Rabbit Pate and Wellness Fish Pate in rotation.
I feed my cat who needs high protein 2 different types of cat food one dry from a brand and the wet one from another brand at once...is that fine? I do this because if i get the wet one from the same brand as rhe dry one(the price of that wet one is very pricey) and the wet one that i get her,if i get her the same brand for the dry one (the dry one from the wet food brand i get her is also pricey)😅

Wanted to try something new so i bought Merricks cat wet food back in December 2023. It gave my cats literally explosive diarhhea with yellowish poo, horrible gas and stinky BMs, and made them extremely food resistant...for like 5 days. I only gave them a baby spoons worth with their normal wet food for 2 meals, im super hesistant with changing food now. Cleaning litter boxes outside during freezing weather and the first snow wasn't fun 😅 I also feed them blue buffalo wilderness dry food, so I'll keep this in mind in case something happens (it's been fine so far, but they do refuse to eat that brands wet food).
meat byproducts are fine for dogs, sheesh. it’s organs and those are super nutritious. this makes me immediately know she may know a lot but not enough for me to learn anything. even so, i appreciate that she made this.
Everyone should be using a digital scale to measure kibble by weight, specifically to the .1 gram, so that both caloric intake and cost per day can be calculated accurately. Measuring kibble by volume is so wildly inaccurate. Your numbers might as well be made up out of thin air.
I wouldn't let my dog out like that (cat's... okay. But god I'm anxious even about that. There are so many animal thief's everywhere. lost some pet's that way) But I also wouldn't give my dog away even after all those years. That they just didn't try to reach the owner is wrong BUT I would let the kids visit the dog. Not sure about the parents because those are adults that should have known better, I wouldn't trust them not to try something (But I'm also autistic and really emotional over everything thats 'mine'. More then normal even, but tzats probably from all the times things of mine would just 'vanish'.... thiefs and parents that didn't like some of my things. From clothes to books ect.) ~If my pet would be sad for some time without the kids I could probably part from them but it would be hart. In the end i would want them to be happy and if they couldn't be that with ne anymore..~
Hi Everyone, I need to share this with all you doggie parents. I cook my dogs food. Chicken, Broccoli , Zucchini, and Kidney Beans baked in Avocado Oil, at 275° for 6 hours. I use to take breaks on some days and feed them Badlands . I had been doing this for sometime. I ran out of Badlands for about 3 weeks. I ordered the food and it was taking too long to arrive. I contacted them and shortly there after it arrived. In addition to the one bag I ordered, they sent 2 free bags. I thought that was very nice and I emailed them and thank them. On May 7, 2024 I gave my boys( A 17 year old Yorkie, Gizmo, and a 14 year old Havanese, Lucky) some of Badlands Ranch Food. On May 8, 2024 Lucky ate the Badlands food but Gizmo only ate a little. On May 9, 2024 at 7am I awoke to Gizmo trying to stand up, he lifted himself from his front legs but his hind legs were not able to pick him up. He was also trembling,, breathing heavily, had a distended stomach and was a bit lethargic. I rush him to the Animal Medical Center in NYC( where we live). My heart was breaking.After hours of X-rays and test and a $1500 bill, I was told that his legs were fine and they thought it was a neurological issue. The did get him to stand. He walked a little outside but not much. I took him home because neurology would have required a few days stay at $6-$8000. I told them there was no way I was going pay that kind of money for something that was not a definite. I took my Gizmo home with medication for diarrhea, nausea and pain. I told them he was having soft stools but not diarrhea and he never vomited. I figured the pain warranted the need for pain meds. Pains are just another way to stiff a pet parent. I did not give home any more Badlands Ranch food. Thru ALL 3 BAGS OUT! The next morning May 10, 2024, at 3am noticed Gizmo had defecated on himself, he was shaking and breathing heavy. I stood him up and he collapsed to the floor. I rushed him to the Animal Medical Center AGAIN. Long story short, same eval. Same recommendation. I asked if they had donors who can help with the $6-$8000 neurology stay. I was told they would be able to approve it "for this". Gave me more pain meds and that was the end. They didn't charge me for the doctors exam but the bill was almost $500! I went home and did my best to help Gizmo.By this time I had no more tears left On May 11, 2024 he started eating( my home made food...pureed and in small portions. I massaged his hind legs. That evening Gizmo was walking a little. . I kept on top of things to help Gizmo, doing and praying. The next morning, May 12,2024, I looked over and he was not in his bed. He had stood up on his own and made it to the bathroom. I checked and he was asleep by his food dish. I thought, awesome. He was still not doing well, ate a little, walked a little and layed down. Still had some trembling and distended stomach. Thankfully,was able to make it to the Wee-wee pads alone. May 13, 2024 he ate a little was able to make it to wee-wee pads. Still achy with distended stomach. He slept a lot. On May 14, 2024. Gizmo was not doing well. Stopped eating and more shaking. Found him sleeping in the living room this morning. Sooooo...off to a ER vet closer to home. This vet had to run labs. Needed more info than what was in the lab report I brought with me from A.M.C. The suspected pancreatitis and possible UTI. His kidney and liver elevated in lab report. She said she could send him home with UTI antibiotic and some more pain med. Couldn't do more without a Sonogram$1300 and depending on those results he may need to stay a few days for care. That would be $3-$5000! I said "let's treat as if because I cannot afford those things". Visit&exam&Meds=Almost &800.00. You can only imagine how disgusted I am with the VETS IN NYC. MONEY IS THEIR PRIORITY. But at least the the small ER clinic close to home diagnosed him better. A.M.C. WITH THEIR HUGE FACILITY could NOT diagnose him! If I hadn't gone to the second ER Clinic, Gizmo would've died. I'm happy to report that Gizmo is doing better. This will take time because his little body took a beating. I massage him several times a day. I bought I life best for him and am giving him Aquatic therapy in the tub. He's almost finished with his antibiotics and has not need pain meds for two days now. Thank God! Thank you for your great videos. My vet has mentioned that peas, lentils and chickpeas are not good for dogs in the long run. I am curious what your thoughts are about that?
My dog is allergic to chicken. He has been on raw food for two years now, and before that he was given a fresh cooked food for a year. We had been struggling with kibbles since we adopted him trying to find something that wouldn't upset him but so many foods have chicken fat even if they arn't a chicken food. I dove off the deep end because I was going mad trying to make life more comfortable for Phantom. I am so glad that I did. I have tried on a few different occasions to reintroduce chicken as a protein because it would be a lot more cost effective for me, but every time I do he has GI upset. If I only use chicken liver or chicken heart it seems to be not too bad, but anything larger than that causes issues and every treat/kibble/what have you(fed to him by well meaning people) that has chicken causes some serious upset. Thankfully not eggs, though. He can eat eggs no problem! His favorite treat for the summer is a frozen egg. He doesn't eat the whole shell, but whatever he doesn't eat the plants appreciate as he usually gets these treats outside.
I mean, obviously one study can't form a whole fact, but this has been observed in SO MANY other groups of dogs/wolves/canines. It is not a theory lol. Every pack has a leader/alpha. In the case of the role of a human with a dog, I wouldn't say it has anything to do with a study on pack behavior. With multiple dogs, they moat likely still have an alpha, but the human master trumps that
I need a good dry cat food for my cat with larger pieces because she swallows the dry food she is eating now and she gets dental problems regularly. At the moment she is eating Orijen. 💦 But soon I need to change her diet because of that even though it's a good food in my opinion. 😢
Diamond Natural gave me a lot of issues, I made a post on reddit and was flooded with people having the same issues also. Diarrhea, Vomiting, blood in stool etc
Canidae. Owns and processes their products only in their US factory. Good price range and different varieties. I am a groomer for over 30 years and have been feeding it for at least 20 years to all my dogs. No recalls and all my dogs led good quality well passed their expected life span. I attribute part of that to great quality dog food!!
